    Paragraph from somewhere
The movie starts with Kara Robison in captivity. She is handcuffed to a bed.
Flash to twin best friends who look like twin sisters. Kara makes a plan with Jess to go to her lake house. Kara calls her working mother, Debra, to let her know the plans for the weekend. Debra has a date and tells her daughter not to wait up for her. Kara seems to be on her own, with her mother working and her parents divorced.
Before leaving for the day, Kara waters the plants out front and decides to water her neighbor’s house. A man, Richard Evonitz, casually walks up to her, asks if her parents are home, and then holds a gun to her neck and forces her into a storage container in the back of his car.
Kara hyperventilates in the car and memories a SKU number on the container. She calms her breathing and tries not to scream for fear of angering her kidnapper.
Jess returns after showering and finds the hose running, and she immediately knows something is wrong. She calls Debra right away.
When the car stops, Richard Evonitz tells Kara that he will gag and tie her. Kara contemplates making a run for it be decides to wait until she is in a less remote area.
Richard lays out the rules for Kara.
    1) He will always have his gun on him.
    2) She must call him “daddy.”
    3) She will do only as she is told.
    4) If she breaks the rules, there will be consequences.
He then asks her questions about her name, address, friend, and family information. Then he asks about her sexual experience and boyfriend. Kara waits, follows his rules, and gathers information. It is what she has to do to survive. He tells her he will let her go when he is finished with her.
Debra calls the police, but it has only been two hours, so they write it off as a runaway.
Instead of running, Kara asks questions and gathers information about Richard. Richard smokes weed and wants Kara to smoke with him. He also forces her to watch porn. At every moment, she pictures what it would be like to escape. Most of the time, she envisions herself not making it out alive.
Richard turns on the news to see if reports about Kara’s abduction have made it to air. When she sees nothing about herself, Richard says it is because no one cares about her. He later gives her some anti-anxiety medication. (Which, like, dude you are causing her to freak out.)
At night Kara is handcuffed and shackled to the bed with ropes and ties. She manages to untie herself while Richard sleeps. Kara jumps into a car and has them drive her to the police station.
At the police station, the cops are dumbfounded. They ask her to go back to the apartment complex to look for Richard’s apartment number. With the information Kara provides, they find the unit and search the property. Richard is nowhere to be found.
Kara’s memory is impeccable, and she tells the police multiple details that will assist in identifying Richard.
The police conduct a rape kit on Kara (who hasn’t even been to a gynecologist yet.) They also find evidence in a lockbox that indicates Richard kidnapped and killed before. They are dealing with a serial killer. Wanted signs are posted around town.
Kara doesn’t share the details of what happened with her family and friend because she says they shouldn’t ask if they don’t want to know the answer. She confides in Sgt. Bonnie about feeling overwhelmed with the new police presence and visitors from the neighborhood. Bonnie tells her that it is because people are impressed.
Ashley, “Marcs” wife, says she can’t imagine him doing anything like this. His sister is also interviewed and turns on her brother. Giving up his location.
Police continue to swarm Kara’s house for “safety.” She wants to live everyday life and doesn’t take it well when Sheriff Dale tells her she should be acting in a more victimized way. Kara tells him that she saved herself and won’t take advice from a man who can’t even do this job correctly.
Another Sheriff does some PR repair and thanks Kara for being a survivor and helping crack open a case that will give peace to many victims’ families.
The police apprehend Richard after a foot chase. Before they can take him into custody, he shoots himself. He dies on the scene.
The following day Dara tells her daughter that Richard killed himself, and Kara gets upset that the news wasn’t shared with her sooner. She is also upset that justice was not served in the courts.
Kara tries to explain herself to her mother and Dara admits she is trying her best to be there for her daughter. Kara says she is a survivor, and she is herself.

Yeah they had questions but they were clarifying important questions. They weren't dismissing or belittling her... She wasn't treated badly in this clip, not the rest of the movie. Just because they weren't putting an arm around her and raising the pitch of their voice and saying: "poor baby, are you hurt?" Does not mean they were treating her poorly. Rewatch and realize that.

The police have no idea if the young lady is telling the truth. If she is lying, they do not want to feed into what may be a mental health delusion.
If she is telling the truth, they do not want to push any possible defenses she may be holding against her trauma.
By maintaining a calm, professionally impersonal air, they are giving her as much space as possible in a traumatic personal space.

What pisses me off to no end is her mother never gave up but then she met Sylvia Brown (self proclaimed medium) who told her that Amanda was dead. Then by the time she escaped her mother had died. Okay that was stupid of that cop. You should never do that to a witness. You should say “the suspect may not be among these pictures’ because otherwise the victim is going to pick the person who looks closest to the kidnapper, and then their mind will be convinced that person did it. That’s ruining evidence. (Forensic student here. One of the first things I learned.)

This is based on a true story and this girl name is Kara Robinson and she was a 15 year-old girl and she was at her friends house watering the plants while her friend was showering. Her parents weren’t at home and while she was watering the plants and man came up with newspapers he said is anyone home and Kiera said no it’s just me and my friend and her parents aren’t home as he was going to hand her the mail he put a gun under her chin. He said if you scream, I will shoot you. he took her into his car and put her in box. He drove for a while in a deserted area and he took her into the room and s.a her. Maybe went by and she said is there anything I can help you do around the house? He said, sweep the floors as she was sweeping the floors she came across the fridge the fridge had his name and a card that was guided to his dentist. She used the information to later when she escaped to figure out who the man was. They were asleep and she was handcuffed to the bed, she saw the key on the dresser, and she decided to escape she was terrified that she would be killed. after a couple minutes of deciding, she decided to escape. She grabbed the key and untied herself unlock the door and ran as she was running out of the apartment. She came across two men in a car she said can you please take me to the police? idk about the plot of the movie but this is from wikipedia
On June 24, 2002, Evonitz abducted 15-year-old Kara Robinson from a friend's yard in Columbia, South Carolina. He got out of his car and approached her, pretending to offer her some "pamphlets." After she said her friend's parents were not home Evonitz held a gun to her neck[16] and then forced her into a plastic bin. He took her to his apartment, raped her, forced her to smoke marijuana, and tied her to his bed. After watching the evening news about her abduction, he tied her to a homemade wooden apparatus to spread her legs. Robinson was then able to free herself while Evonitz was asleep, escape, and identify her abductor to the police using information she was able to find on Evonitz's fridge.[17] However, Evonitz had fled after finding Robinson gone.
The police determined that the fibers from the furry handcuffs on Kara's wrists were also found on the bodies of Silva and the Lisk sisters. Kristin Lisk's handprint was also lifted from the inside of Evonitz' car trunk.[18] In addition, in his apartment police found nude photos of young girls, hundreds of pornographic images and videotapes of children on his computer, including one of him molesting a young girl and another of him masturbating to Polaroid photos of other children. There were also a large number of girls’ underwear which have never been linked to any individual.
      Capture and death
On June 27, 2002, Evonitz called his sister, Jennifer, admitting to having committed "more crimes than he can remember," and told her to meet him at an IHOP in Jacksonville, Florida but she instead called the police and turned him in. Later that day, Evonitz was surrounded by police on Bayfront Drive in Sarasota, Florida. He was urged to surrender peacefully but after a police dog was released, Evonitz shot himself and was declared dead at 10:52 p.m.

This clip is from the movie "The Girl Who Escaped" which tells the story of Kara Robinson being kidnapped by a man on her way home from school. She was held in a basement and the kidnapper demanded ransom money to her mom but she didn't have it since she only works as a cafeteria lady. All of these are made up and I haven't watched the movie yet so good job making this far.

I recently saw his ex-wife's story on youtube. Poor woman married him, when she was barely 19 (he was like 10 years older) and did not suspect anything. He abused her and made jokes about serial killer in their region. The final straw was when she noticed how fast he can switch between screaming hell on her because she was 5 min late, and talking nicely to his coworker. Like he needed seconds to do it. So she ran away. She was horrified when several years after the divorce police called her and told her he was the killer. They were surprised she lived 😢
