    I apologize for how long it took me to make this. I wanted to make the video concise and informative. In the end, I rewrote the entire script three times and spent over a week working out the deck in the demonstration. Hopefully this video can be helpful for everyone, but the topic of Deck Building is so nuanced that it may be better to simply do a Q&A at some point.

    i was actually looking for a good tcg guide earlier today since i didn’t start playing until recently, so this is fantastic timing haha. it was also a surprise to see that you only have 500 subs, since the production quality gave me the impression that you had WAY more (really looking forward to seeing the channel grow though!). anyways, thanks for uploading these kinds of vids! it was getting a bit confusing after hearing all sorts of terms get thrown around in other tcg-related videos on yt, so i appreciate the time and effort you put into explaining everything in a highly comprehensive guide ^^ i can’t wait to start building my own decks with all of this info in mind

      Haha, thanks! A lot of terms that get used in Genshin's TCG come from other TCGs, like YuGiOh and MTG, but for a lot of people, Genshin's TCG is an introduction to TCGs in general.
      I'm glad that you found everything useful, and hope it helps in making your own unique decks!

    I can't help but feeling weirdly savage, when you speak about OTK, but showing clip where Noelle gets knocked out, but completely dampens OTK combo of the opponent :D (Only for Itto to sweep what's left :D ). Anyways thank you for this guide, people need to know how to build decks, so that they will not resort to just copying deck and then still losing because they don't know how to operate that deck. If they spend time actually building it, they will definitely know what to do :3

    • @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG
      @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG  Před 11 měsíci +4

      The only reason why I used that footage was because I didn't actually have any footage of OTK decks doing their combo. I showed the best example of one, essentially doing over 20 damage in a single Round, that I had. I suppose that just means that I need to make an OTK deck at some point. Itto sweeping actually worked with what was being said about OTK decks breaking down if you can withstand the initial assault.
      And yeah, the more people know about how decks work, the better they'll enjoy the decks and the TCG at large.

  • @Eclipse_IV
    @Eclipse_IV Před 11 měsíci +23

    Nice guide. I didn't realize how important practical testing is for deck building until I tried on my own a little while ago. Knowing that I was generally on the right track with my strategy is reassuring. Also, having consistent terms to use is helpful regardless.
    I made an amber/mona/collei aggro(?)-summon/shield deck focused on maximizing Amber's skill (2 pyro damage AND 2 shield is underrated). I'm not quite sure which archetype this falls under though. I built it to have lots of shield and food to stall but it also has surprisingly high damage (first round->amber->mona->end round can do 6 damage to a target and leaves hydro application for collei).

    • @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG
      @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG  Před 11 měsíci +4

      Sometimes decks don't fit perfectly into one single archetype. Depending on openings and opponents, some decks can flex into a couple of archetypes to varying degrees, but they usually thrive in one more than others.
      And yeah, testing is extremely important. It can sometimes take dozens of tests to make certain decks work in certain ways.
      Amber is a really good Card. As time goes on, she'll see more use in a variety of roles.

    Just found out this video and this is a very nice overall guide to build and play Genius Invokation TCG. Well done on the video.
    A little tiny detail to discuss tho, I am not sure that Nahida is supposed to be a Burst Deck character. Sure the Shrine of Maya boosts reactions, but her kit also shines on her Seed of Skandha which requires two applications of normal elemental skill (6 dice, 2 actions) or one 5-dice skill to get the Seeds applied on all enemy characters. This is doubly so if we use Nahida's Talent Card which further her Seeds power. Thus, early extra energy for Nahida is less preferable since otherwise you'd like to apply Seeds of Skandha first.
    While fast-bursting Nahida is possible, I can't help to think that there are better options if you'd like this playstyle.For example, using Xiangling burst for more consistent damage.

      @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG  Před 11 měsíci +1

    Very informative video. I found your channel while looking for some TCG decks. I've played Genshin regularly for 3 years but kinda neglected the TCG for a while. Decided to get back to it these days, and thanks to one of your decks I managed to complete all liyue duels and get to lv10, and now I'm approaching Inazuma.
    There's still a lot I need to understand before trying to figure out a deck on my own.
    One thing I would love to see is a deckbuilding strategy starting from one char, because that's kinda what I want to focus on. Just start from a character I like and try to build a deck that works around it (looking at Dehya for my first serious deck).
    Although I don't know if I really want to pvp, at least you're making my PvE experience more smooth.

      Glad you like the video! Making decks around a singular character is actually something I did a bit in the last TCG stream I did (the VoD is available).
      Someone asked about Kokomi, so I made the Kokomi Cube Deck (the most recent video deck) live on stream. It was initially based around Kokomi, but I think the Cubes took over, lol.

    • @AcaciaAvenue
      @AcaciaAvenue Před 2 měsíci

      @@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG I saw that video, but as far as I understood, Kokomi is more of a stall/heal side/support character, so I think it's expected that in the end the other units take the spotlight.
      Out of your other videos, I'm quite intrigued by the Dehya/Nahida/Fischl deck and I'm working on building that (I currently don't have Dehya and I'm out of invitations). Do you think a similar deck, but with oceanid instead of Fischl for more summons and vaporize/bloom, can work?
      Gonna check that vod, thanks.

    • @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG
      @SausageGenshinTeapotTCG  Před 2 měsíci +1

      In theory, sure, you could swap out Fischl or Dehya for Oceanid, but you'd lose the core principle of that deck: disrupting the opponent in end-phase. However, that isn't to say that the new version of the deck wouldn't have its own playstyle to mess around with.@@AcaciaAvenue

      Tenacity is such a strong artifact that it works in a lot of different decks.
      It's in almost all Stall Decks due to its defensive capabilities.
      It can also be in a lot of decks that have a main "hypercarry" character card that wants to be the Active Character most of the time.
      It can be great on characters who can self-heal or shield, Like Bennett, Qiqi, Beidou, Candace, and pairs well with a lot of other defensive weapons, like Aquila or The Bell.
