Genshin Impact's Genius Invokation TCG Deck Guide, Comparison, and Showcase - Featuring the new Geneeral's Ancient Helm Artifact Action Card and the Noelle Character Card to make a new and improved Noelle Deck.
#genshinimpact #geniusinvokationtcg #genshintcg #cardgame #noelle - Hry
Thank you to everyone who watched! I wanted to try something different and more interesting for the intro of the video, so I hope people enjoy it. I also have been working to up the production quality of the deck analysis while also making the videos a bit shorter and more digestable. Hopefully is all pays off. Let me know what you think of the new start to these videos.
Also, if you want to use this deck, the idea starting hand would include:
- Paimon
- General's Ancient Helm
- Geo Resonance Card
- Chang the Ninth/Liben
- Wolf's Gravestone
The Bestest Travel Companion is also a good starting card since it's usually best to start with the Oceanid and try to get two mimics out at once. As stated in the video, getting the ramp out is the most important thing in the early game, so prioritize that if you don't have to take down key opposing character cards.
Quick question about the starting hand, let's say you get two copies of a card in this list, would you swap the second copy or keep it? Definitely the case for Helm and WGS, but what about the others?
This depends on a couple of factors: which card it is, the cost of the card, and your own personal playstyle.
As you mentioned, getting two WGS is a definite swap for one of them. But let's look at a "maybe" situation.
Let's assume you get two Paimons. Depending on the other cards in your hand, it might be better to try and swap it (for example, if you don't have any card draw engines in your hand), or it might be better to hold it for when Noelle is out to go for big damage in a single round (if you already have most of the other pieces you need).
Now, let's look at an example of keeping the dupe card. Let's assume you get everything but the General's Ancient Helm card, instead, you get two Chang the Ninth cards. Now, if you tried to swap out the duped Change the Ninth for the Helm, you only have a 7% chance of getting that card. However, if you keep and play the two Change the Ninths (especially if you go first since they will likely activate faster), the card draw power of both up your chances of drawing into the Helm, and you end up with a 15% chance of getting the card you want when they both activate (this isn't even factoring in the normal endphase card draw, which actually increased the odds further by thinning out the deck). So statistically speaking, keeping the two cards is better than trying to swap them out.
Again, personal playstyle will be a major factor in this. Also, the speed in which you need your ramp out (which depends on what deck you are up against) may also determine which cards you keep in the starting hand.
I am trying out this team for the fourth(?) time now and I just got the perfect starting hand (weapon, helmet, Paimon, Chang, Resonance), but I don't know what to do now nor how to use it wisely. Why is this the ideal hand, that's something I don't even know. Sorry, I'm so stupid and bad at this game.
Edit: Woo-hoo, I owned the game!! Yes!! I love this team so much, thank you for making this video!
@@Drud You play Chang the Ninth, Oceanid Summon (whichever one you can do or think is best depending on the dice), and then work to equip Noelle with the Helm & Weapon. It might be best to play the Helm and then Paimon to then have enough dice next turn to build Noelle's shield with the Resonance and equip the weapon. Or maybe just use Oceanid's large summon and then play out the weapon/Paimon or Helm. The latter option is better if your opponent starts first.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Okay, thank you for the help!
Just watched 40 minutes of a virtual card game without breaking focus lmao
Lol, I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it interesting!
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG i realized that i actually really enjoy these. Maybe it's the strategising that's interesting? Anyway, tcg content is kind of rare so i hope you continue making it :D
Look around, Aine! There are more TCG fans now than ever before! And the more you try to stifle our creativity, the more we'll try to express our love for a show that's about more than children's card games! It's about fighting for what you believe in, and I believe in this show and its fans now more than ever! Because they believe in me!😅
@@sigma20xx certainly so, my recommended has been filling up with tcg lately (not a bad thing). The algorithm is on my side now :D
@@aine5762 oh no man, I was just joking. That's a quote from the Yu-Gi-Oh abridged series.
Now I never intended to play TCG myself. But since I've had to do it for the current event. I'm kinda hooked. While I'm terrible at it, it's still fun. It's a great distraction while we're waiting for the next version/region to open up.
For some reason I felt like a Disney villain by playing this deck, and I was enjoying it
There is a certain maniacal joy in watching the opponent's huge combo just bounce off of you for 0.
I just tried this deck in coop, i won 3 hard battles in a row! I must say i made some mistakes, but after some practice i'm sure i can get better with it! I'm adding this deck to my favorite ones for sure.
I'm glad you liked it and that it worked well for you!
I am so happy YT recommended me this! I really wanted to start playing TCG for real (not just for the BP) but I lack the understanding of the game and before they introduced TCG into Genshin I'd never played any card-based games. Besides I wasn't sure I could use my favourite character (Noelle) in TCG. This was JUST the right video for me! Thank you so much! The explanation of the strategy for the deck before the showcase was especially insightful. I am looking forward to learning more about TCG from this channel.
Thank you for watching! I'm happy this was a help for you, and hopefully you can use the deck and really get into the TCG, especially with the new update coming up being so TCG focused!
This is exactly what I needed, my current noelle deck is very outdated. All the Fischl Oceanid Mirror Maiden players are completely annihilating me.
I hope it works out for you.
I don't recall encountering the deck you mentioned there, so I wonder if it's a newer one making the rounds.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Some discord tournament or something was dominated by the deck and now everyone is running it.
Electro charge to damage Noelle off field, then Maiden's ability makes the summons hit hard. x.x
@@BlueCoreGamming So long as you can get the ramp out fast, you can face-tank that pretty well. Feed pizzas to Noelle early on while setting up the ramp. If the match in the video against the piercing damage deck proves anything, it's that you can definitely get around those types of attacks with this deck.
Though, in full honesty, against a deck like that, I'd probably recommend one of the Fatui Agent decks that can just do Round 1-2 unavoidable insta-kills on key targets.
normally I struggle to pay attention to videos bc of my adhd but this guy explains it in just the right way so I can actually pay attention… subscribing now lolz
Thank you! I'm so glad that my explanations aren't boring to people, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the video!
Honestly this comment is right on the money for me too. I was watching this while doing something else and, before I knew it, I had watched the whole thing while having full attention the whole time. Great video.
@@sarapoda Thank you! I'm glad you found it interesting and could watch through the entire thing!
0:07 Hey, some of my decks lists are there, including the anemo resonance Noelle haha
At the time(I think it was somewhere between the 2~3 week of release of the TCG), I was trying to experiment various resonances with Noelle, and I felt like pre-nerf Maguu Kenki would make it possible for an Anemo Resonance Noelle deck to be viable.
Unfortunately as you can see from the 2x of both Paimon cards, that was just not happening. Not being able to throw cards to change dices to cryo was a real neckbreaker and, even when cryo dices were available, Maguu Kenki just didn't provide enough cryo application for Jean/Noelle to do reactions.
The Xiangling/Bennett/Noelle and Diluc/Bennett/Noelle decks showed there are also mine. Those were built right after the failed anemo resonance one.
Xiangling/Bennett/Noelle was also a bad build; contrary to the actual game, in the TCG world, Xiangling and Bennett have bad sinergy. Because both Guoba and Pyronado doesn't get damage increased from Inspiration Field, that duo is just not happening either.
Diluc/Bennett/Noelle was way better as an actual deck, but not because of Noelle. Bennett is way too strong after he's fully equipped. Unfortunately, it became more of a "Stall for Benny god deck" rather than the "NOELLE SMASH deck".
I have other lists posted in the Hoyolab, and I particularly like my old Barbara/Mona/Noelle build. I liked it more than the typical geo resonance Noelle stall builds, because it also helped stall against the AoE damage from electro-charge/superconduct decks, which were quite prevalent at the time.
Google must love your decks, then. I just searched for "Genshin TCG Noelle Decks" and these were the ones that popped up in some image searches and on some sites.
In regards to the Anemo one, the Kenki nerf is specifically why I included it: it's outdated. In 1.0 TCG, I can see how it could have worked, though.
There are a lot of different archetypes for Noelle decks, and it's good to see that each one, including mine, all seem to have different roles, goals, and styles.
Great video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
i love your videos man. extremely insightful and they teach me a bunch!
could you possibly make a deck revolving around chongyun? he does insane damage and i really enjoy playing him 😊
Thanks, I'm glad you like them! I may get around to working with Chongyun eventually. There are a lot of characters whom I haven't really worked with much (Cyno also comes to mind), so I'll probably look into them for making more creative decks for Showcase Videos.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG thank you for considering chongyun then!! and cynos pretty fun too so I hope you find him useful!
Got u on main page of yt, I liked video, ima stay for moar
Thank you. Glad you liked it! More is certainly coming.
Very nice video! I love the explanation, really helps to understand what you’re doing and anticipating. Do you recommend any decks for beginners?
Hmm, aggressive and mid-range kind of decks tend to be good for newer players. I would generally stay away from Stall decks early on since they require a lot of knowledge checks and resource management.
But honestly, probably the most important thing is to find a deck or Character Card that you enjoy. The more you enjoy it, the more you'll want to stick with it and learn the ins and outs of the TCG.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Alright thank you for your reply! I'm thinking if trying out a deck with neuvilette, not sure about the 2 other characters yet
(sorry for all the comments lmao)
Thoughts on 3.6 Katheryne buff? "The required dice to play has been reduced from 2 Elemental Dice of your choice to 1."
This is the first I'm hearing of it. If that's the case, then, at least at first glance, it seems very strong. Of course, it does consume a support slot, so that trade-off still exists. It's a buff to Anemo Control, Ayaka Freeze, and even Summon Decks that run it... And they didn't really need buffs, lol.
I've been trying this deck out and liking it so far. I wish this video had more matches! I'd like to hear more of your thought process.
Let me tell you about a terrible match I just had though vs 3L. They ganyu charge shot then big paimon on round 1. I do one summon, equip wgs, liben eats the last 2 of my dice.
Round 2 they use a talent card or something so noelle is hit with 3 damage, so she is at 5 HP now. Then they place another big paimon and liben eats their remaining dice. I swap to Lawa and attack twice. Liben takes my last dice.
Round 3 she must had gotten a weapon maybe, because the charge shot did 4 damage, so noelle is at 1HP at this point. I have helmet and paimons and libens ready to place but..unsurprisingly I didn't win that match.
Man Ganyu is tough, need a different strategy for her.
Piercing decks and Anemo Control decks are the worst match-ups for this deck. They generally force your Noelle out early to mitigate damage. I probably should have posted it in the pinned message, but I explain a little bit on strategies against those in the Hoyolab post I made for this deck.
www.hoyolab.com/article/17570592
I would include more matches (as I do quite a lot of them), but analytics show that most people don't watch past the first match, so I reduced it to two (my earliest video used to do best of five)
But I'm glad you're enjoying the deck! The more you use it, the more you'll develop counter-strategies to rough match-ups!
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Totally understand your analytics point, avg yt viewer cannot handle long videos 🤣
Thanks for the link with the opening hand, will keep this in mind. Also the Piercing tip seems good. If I can get everything setup by round 2 then even if Noelle has 5 HP like that last game I played, I still might have a chance.
Also lol the fact 'tank' is censored on hoyo xD
Good video!! So now this will be my main deck) Thanks.
Thank you! Another version of this deck that you might like replaces Liyue Harbor and Favonius Cathedral with Abyssal Summons.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Ok, i'll try it.
Drinking challenge, take a shot every time he says “I’m not too bothered by that”
In regards to this challenge, I'm not too bothered by that.
Hyvrs gave us fair PvP i am living for this game mode
Ughhhh this works!!!! I got through all realm temper challenge because of this deck. Superb!!!!
Haha! Nice! Haven't had the chance to try the Realm Challenges yet, so it's good to know that this deck holds up in there.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG this is really is my main deck now. You're a genius
I'll keep watching, but my first impressions are, you have a lot of food, but no Chef Mao for free food, or double mao so you get paid to eat. No abyss summon for max oceanid burst / extra crystallize if oceanid is dead. Also, my rng is always bad, so having just a single copy of a card is like I might as well not have the card at all. No toss up, again my rng luck is very bad so not having dice fixers will be a hard play. Change the ninth is kind of hit or miss for me, and many decks nowadays run summons, so it is hard to proc itto.
I'll have to watch the video, but are you really switching characters so often that you need fast action and changing shifts? I thought it was just Lawa > Oceanid > Noelle, not really going back and forth. Big Paimon is harder to use than Liben, having to support both that and WGS is tough, but I'm guessing you make it work so let me stop here and actually watch the video xD
I've used Chef Mao in past versions (the version in the video is the 4th or 5th version) and found it not worth the few food that I have (I also had an NRE version but even with 8 food in that deck, I found Chef Mao to be underwhelming). Free food is nice, but for 0 you get 1 heal or you could pay 1 for a total of 3 heals over time with the pizzas.
I've mentioned a version with Abyssal Summons in a comment (maybe it was on HoyoLab, though). You can run it if you want, but I found that while it can cause more Endphase Damage, it can also interfere with the main mechanic of the deck: Crystalize and shields. It is a good backup for Crystalize if the Oceanid dies, though, but by then, you usually don't need it.
Chang the Ninth is rather important since he is free card draw; this deck has some high cost combos, so low-cost, high-reward card draw engines are critical. It also helps for unlucky card draws early on.
The quick-swap and free-swap are for surprise combos or dodging important reactions, like catalyze.
If there was a card that I would remove, though, it might be the Liyue Harbor card. It's good, but it might be better to have Noelle's Skill Card in there for a small amount of additional healing.
Feel free to try some variations and report back on which ones worked best for you.
Something I want to know is, is it possible to very highly utilize damage by using Kazuha? I know him and the Red Feather Fan actually can allow you to attack 2 times in a row if possible, but I want to see how much damage could possibly be done in 1 turn.
Why would you put an anemo character into this deck, exactly? Red Fan isn't a terrible card, but it is a bit costly and sometimes gets in the way of swapping to bait out the opponent's moves.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Oh sorry I wasn't talking about this deck in the video, forgot to specify. I was thinking a deck consisting of Kazuha, Mona and some other character to highly utilize fast actions and quick burst damage.
Did anything change now with Zhongli’s release? Is he maybe better than the lawachurl in this team?
I haven't had a chance to test all of the new cards just yet (I've been at work all day, sadly), but I will likely do updates to some decks in the future.
Let me know when you build another deck with Noelle. I'm subscribed
I edited this deck a bit, but it could be better I think
I won an event with 5 wins without a loss 😅
Oh, I'm sure this could probably be updated yet again with the new cards.
My most recent Itto deck also features Noelle.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG I played Itto once and won
at 36:05 why did you summon 2 wtih oceanid instead of summon 1 and use burst?
Oceanid's Burst doesn't do a whole lot of damage without having a lot of her summons down. It only does a base 2 Hydro + 2 per summon. The defense that the Frog Summon gives was far more valuable than 4 damage, given how low Noelle was.
I used both noelle and itto for unstoppable shield + kokomi unli for heal
Back when I made this, Itto didn't exist. I eventually made something like this with Itto that became pretty close to the old BIN meta, just without Barbara. Now most people are using DIN, with Dehya.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCGWhat's BIN and DIN if you don't mind me asking?
I also want to know about; what's the best tcg build that has Noelle? I've seen someone use Lawachurl + Maguu Kenki, and now I find out about Itto being good enough to replace Lawachurl too. Kokomi unli heal sounds soo good, especially because of the "stall" thing while that one Maguu Kenki short had a jaw-dropping ramp build thing
Oh and is there a new deck for Noelle now? Besides the team/party set and all
@@randyrandom3358 BIN = Barbara, Itto, Noelle. It was an old meta deck that was around for quite a few updates.
DIN just replaces Barbara with Dehya and typically opts to be more aggressive.
Both are getting hit hard with the upcoming Itto nerfs.
Running Kenki with Noelle was a thing back during the release of the TCG, but after Kenki's nerf, it's not that great.
I would wait until 4.2 drops with all of its changes before experimenting with decks for Noelle. At least she can better compete with Itto after this update.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Ah I see, I'll come around to see it.
What's the current Noelle meta?
@@randyrandom3358 BIN/DIN are pretty much it at the moment. That's why I said to wait until the 4.2 changes drop to see if they are still viable metas.
Could you update this deck? I mean with the new cards that have arrived :)
I may take a look at updating quite a few decks with all of the new cards. I will need to take the time to analyze everything first, though.
Whats the intro song? Just wondering
It's Thoma's theme from his trailer. Figured it best fit Noelle since she doesn't have a theme of her own.
Plese make a ultimate Noelle deck with the new cards
I do really want to work with Noelle again at some point, but I'm just waiting for the best time and cards to work with her to make something unique and cool.
What do you thing about an NRE in this deck?
I have tested versions of the deck that use the NRE, but I found that it really isn't all that useful. There's only 5 food cards in the deck, so the NRE's value is quite limited. I usually run the NRE with at minimum 6, and usually around 8 food cards to maximize the NRE's card-draw power.
I played this deck with randoms and friends, I won 12 times in a row
Thank you for this deck
Could you also show a deck to easily win against npcs? It's not very easy with this deck
And the question. What about switching Oceanid to Mona?
I have used Mona before with this deck (in fact, I think I started with Mona and eventually went over to Oceanid).
You can use her, but I find that the Hydro Application and early threat that the Oceanid creates just works a bit better than Mona here. With Mona, swapping back and forth between her and the other characters happens more often than desired, so you may have to adjust the deck to add Changing Shifts in to help with the dice cost if you go this route.
Hmm, which NPCs? All of my decks are initially tested against NPCs before I even consider doing early PvP tests with them, so I would have to know which ones tend to give you the biggest issues.
An easy deck to take down NPCs might actually be my Fatui Overload Deck. It can pretty much 1-shot anything per turn with the right opening.
Here's the link to it if you haven't seen it already: czcams.com/video/5EOCJJfgtKM/video.html

What would this tactic look like now in 4.2?
I would wait until Gorou's release in 4.3 before speculating. Noelle is likely going to gain a pretty big buff from his inclusion.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG I would really love to see a new Noelle deck (preferably without dehya), no one seems to be using her anymore
I do want to try using Noelle again, but that will probably be in the next update.@@vinamr3945
idk why i can't understand how to use this deck, i need a guide on how to use the decks but i'm only using it vs npcs, cuz i don't like this gm so far
This deck isn't too hard once you practice it a bit. You mostly just want to summon Oceanid's mimics, use the Lawachurl for some early pressure, and place down your key cards: Wolf's Gravestone, Paimon, and the General's Ancient Helm.
Once all of those are in place, then you can swap to Noelle, use the Geo Resonance card to get a big shield from her skill, and start smacking away.
Don't be too hard on yourself if it doesn't all "click" at first. Some decks just aren't everyone's cup of tea.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG thank you for the answer, these one are hard times, thx for explaining a bit.
How do you even get character cards?
If you go to The Cat's Tail in Mondstadt, on the board left of the entrance, you can invite characters to play against, beat them, and then take their cards.
You have to have Invitations to invite them, though. Those you can buy from Prince at the front counter.
Noelle gaming
All her training paid off in the form of a TCG card.
Good video, though I'm not that huge of a fan of Oceanid with Noelle, I prefer Mona and like to play Lu Siu with it.
There's just one huge misplay you did (like most people) because you didn't really understand what Geo res does. For its effect to activate, you both need a shield on your char and to deal geo dmg **but** you don't have to gain a shield. A few times in the video you could've used normal atk on Noelle instead of her skill as you already had a shield.
I've used Mona in previous iterations of the deck. Mona's hydro application isn't as significant as Oceanid's, nor does she offer as much of an early threat as Oceanid Summons + the Lawachurl.
In regards to the Geo Resonance, I am well aware of how it works. I specifically save it for Noelle's skill because it gives the MAXIMUM amount of shield you can get. If I used it for smaller shields, the overall survivability of the deck, primarily Noelle, wouldn't be near as high.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG Honestly it's mostly because I've seen a few matches in tournament with this version where the person focused too much on Oceanid and ended up losing due to having Noelle chipped down through piercing dmg. As the for the geo res, to give an example, at 31:45 you used Noelle's skill with the res even though you still had one point left of her Breastplate, in this case if you used her normal atk you'd still have given the +3 to the remaining shield.
Though to be fair it wouldn't have mattered in this case because you put Ganyu below 6 hp either way, I'm only saying this in case you didn't know because you only used the res with Breastplate in this video. And I feel like it's important for people to know that it's possible to use the Geo res as long as you create any shield or you already have one.
@@nekonochesire6023 I'm not too concerned. As I stated somewhere around here, maybe it was the HoyoLab post, the way to deal with piercing is to swap to the Noelle as soon as possible.
And I don't take much stock in tournaments. Anyone can host random tournaments via discord or whatnot. I see them advertised here and there on HoyoLab every now and then.
Now we have morax him self for geo resonance
I haven't had too much of a chance to work with his card yet, so I still need to see how he compares with Noelle in terms of shield potential.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG I play Noelle oceanid and Zhongli in a team it’s so much fun Zhongli can summon columns that synergise with Oceanid for crystallise
@@Benyoisme That functions pretty similarly to how Itto's Ushi works in the Itto deck.
I can easily see Zhongli taking the Lawachurl's place and making the deck a bit more defensive by removing the Lawachurl's early pressure.
Damn. 4 months and I think this video is also already out of date 😂
Compared to the other decks that were outdated in a single update, I'll take it. This was basically the BIN of its time, so that's the natural "update" to this deck.
Great deck but we need another update
By the end of it, I'll just be known as the "Noelle Deck Guy," haha.
@@SausageGenshinTeapotTCG I wanna be that guy haha
