Using wide angle adaptors with the Panasonic Lumix FZ2000/2500

  • When shooting in 4K photo or video mode the FZ2000/2500 crops the image resulting in an effective focal length of 36mm. To regain some of this loss of field of view I experiment with two 0.45X wide angle conversion lenses. One from Neweer and the other Zomei. For the Neweer I chose 67mm to match the lens and for the Zomei a 72mm lens and then used a 67 to 72mm step up ring. This was to reduce any chance of vignette when shooting at the 4:3 aspect ratio in the 4K photo mode.
    The Zomei didn't quite get back to the 24mm field of view, more like 30mm. The Neweer did much better almost reaching 24mm but with more barrel distortion and a hint of colour fringing.

    Wonderful info Graham, thank you so much. Having owned quite a few different Panasonic cameras I look forward to, and watch all your videos with great interest, regardless of camera model featured.

    Thanks for the great info as always Graham, are there any good wide angle lenses for fz300 available? Can these wide angle lenses you discussed in this video be used for the fz300?

    Graham, Love your Lumix videos! Do you have examples of the Zomei wide angle adapter comparing photos, not just video? Do you recommend the Zomei for photos on the Lumix? I realize there will be some quality drop off on the edges, but in your opinion, is it still usable for photos?

    Hi. Can you answer that
    1. Is fz2500 capable of capturing galaxy ( astroscape )?
    2. Full optical Zooming in 4k video?
    3. Picture quality is similar to that of DSLR?

    Will these wide angle adaptors work on the FZ-300, thanks.

      @GrahamHoughton12  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes if you purchase the 52mm or 55mm with a 52 to 55mm step up ring. I would recommend the Zomei lensa are they are lighter and would cause less strain on the zoom motor

    i have had a quick look through your video's and cannot see gh4 or gh5.maybe a good time to pick up a second hand gh4 with the 12-35mm is lense.i have been using this combo for a few years now and never once wanted to change the camera.the picture quality is out standing.i have tried these cheap lense attachments in the past and was never happy with the picture quality,just a waste of money really.trying to cheap out and expecting great results.

      I have the GH3 and now the G9 as well as Olympus OMD EM1-mk2 and the OMD EM5-mk2 with the Leica 12-35mm f2.8 but don't use these adaptors on those lenses - It was to showcase the use with Bridge cameras like the 1 inch sensor FZ2000/2500 in 4k video mode where the crop is quite severe

    I've got an Fz1000 and want to use it for real estate photos, so I bought a 0.43 wide angle lens with macro kit to allow a wider field of view. Unfortunately I've now got a fish eye view and the field of view is no better. Anyone know what/how I can fix this? Thanks.

    • @GrahamHoughton12
      @GrahamHoughton12  Před 3 lety

      The 0.43x are really unsuitable for the FZ1000 lens at 25mm the best solution is a 0.7X which does not have the included x10 macro adaptor as these are image quality killers.

      @@GrahamHoughton12 Thanks for your reply, Its a shame, it's not really suitable for real estate photos then. Thanks Again.
