    Thank you for thaking th etime to create this video. I am a newbie camera person. I have owned the FZ2500 for about a year. I picked it up because of the zoom capabilities and 4k video. I use for it is to video my overlanding adventures(4x4ing) plus being a bridge camera saves me on room. For the last few weeks myself and a couple friends have been hired by a local fire department to record their training videos. It has been an eye opener. I really enjoyed it. I mount the FZ2500 to a shoulder rig and it really helps me to be stable. One question I have for you is...... On my buddies RX10 he can plug in a corded remote and has it mounted by the right hand grip on his shoulder rig. This remote starts and stops the recording plus also runs the zoom feature. I can not seem to locate a corded or cordless remote feature that starts and stops recording or even run the zoom. A remote would be awesome to have mounted at my finger tips on my shoulder rig. Might you have come across anything like this? When I am on my tripod I am able to use the WIFI features and control the camera with my LG V30. Again Thank you for taking the time to cover the FZ2500

    Hi I know this video is a bit old and you probably don't even own the camera anymore, I have one and I noticed my slow/quick mode are always disabled no matter what settings I select. I've read the manual and selected a resolution that support VFR, I've done everything but I don't see how can I enable the slow/quick mode. It's always disabled on the menu! Same as yours at the beggining of the video. Have you been able to make those settings enabled?

    I really appreciate your very good tutorial using the fz2500. I will be using it for both video and sill photos. Though I have a background in prosumer video, I have never shot photos. I'd love for you to do the same type of tutorial showing the buttons and setting choices photos on this camera. For me, it's a steep learning curve, but just now knowing that the menu changes with each mode etc., gives me a clue. I hope you'll do a video on using this camera for photos.

  • @RasDoesBushcraftBackcountry

    Stupid question but in cine d vs cine v is there a tiny crop. I noticed it when switch from C TO M and switched the pic profile vice versa . Low light facial recognition is slow. I shoot in Creative Movie mode. 4k live cropping is all goods, so is the time lapses, CINE D AND CINE V i like natural is good profile too.
    I like using my dummy battery with usb 5v to 2a converter cable on a powerbank to shoot timelapses that are over 500 shots . .
    Tips for other users: Dummy battery with powerbank setups, make sure your powerbank is more then 1 a on the output, 2a or 2.4a is better.
    After lengthy use on dummy batt/powerbank , a and mah will drop so be careful not to overburden your powerbank too much.
    After lengthy testing with various powerbanks with the same similar 2.4a output specs, all seem too appear to run out of of current stable enough to supply camera with power from 7.2 v to 6.4 v etc, so if time lapsing I.E 9S interval for 1000 Images for more then 1200 or more images, be sure POWERBANK IS FULLY CHARGED. Video depending on format and
    system frequency and zooming, is roughly about 2 hours and maybe more depending on powerbank mah. I tested 5 powerbanks with similar 2.4a specs with a max capacity of 15,000 mah.
    If video or usage on a fully charged powerbank/dummy batt setup exceeds safe usage levels stable enough for power operation on camera, the camera will turn off and freeze with barrel fully extended or during zoom operation, so be careful.
    Regards to cine d and v thou, should i expose over by 1-2 stops.
    Cheers
    Ras

      No I have not. However I use Xsplit broadcaster with an interface card and it works well with all my cameras that have an HDMI out. Not only does this have an HDMI out but you can also send the feed clean (i.e. no menus or shooting info) So I do not see why it would not work.

    I've had my Fz2500 for over a year & am continuing to learn about it's plethora of features. Your video has helped to add to my understanding. As to your repeated references to the Sony RX-10 cameras being better for It's stills prowess - I mostly disagree. Yes It's Zies lens is a bit sharper but overall going from my Fz to the RX10 would be like going back to the stone age ! Not having a fully integrated touch screen that makes the whole picture taking experience fun . . . Well, I've had two Sony cameras in the past & having to dig through their lame menu syst constantly - I'll wait & see what the future Fz 3000 has in it.

    • @JacquesGaines
      @JacquesGaines Před 6 lety

      Cannot disagree with the menu point or the lens point. But the lens on the Panasonic wide is very soft and closed in has a ton of diffraction

      @rayjenkins2754 Před 6 lety

      I went to a class about the workings & to better understand the newer Panasonic cameras - some Pany reps were there. Out of the 12 people that attended, 4 - including me - had Fz2500s. My hope / fantasy is that Panasonic will pick up on the Fzs future $ sales potential $ and come out with a more stills focused bridge camera that is similar to their G9. What are your thoughts on them using a M4/3 sensor in such a camera?

    • @JacquesGaines
      @JacquesGaines Před 6 lety

      Ditto in so many ways. They would destry the RX10 line with a bridge that has a 4/3 sensor. I believe that they would have to give up some zoom range. But this would also leave place for the always needed wide part of the spectrum. My wishlist would be a 4/3 bridge with a 16 to 200 equivalent zoom range. IMHO The problem is that a great deal of people who buy these cameras love the huge zoom factor but could easily crop in post with a sharper image.

    • @rayjenkins2754
      @rayjenkins2754 Před 6 lety +1

      To the Panasonic guy watching this, " Could you include in our future dream bridge camera a changeable viewfinder like the one on the G9? My nose will touch the corner of the touch screen & change the focus ( I've turned off my TTF in the menu ) The accessory unit you have that is deeper & wider ( for my glasses ) works for me. Keep the playback button on the right side & if your going to have those top 3 dedicated buttons ( WB, ISO, EXP ) please, for me, put the EXP button closest to the lens. I use this most often. Of course weather sealing & 2 card slots. And for heavens sake put stronger springs in the lens cap. That's all I can think of. Thanks. " Ray J.

    That's a bummer that you no longer have the fz2500. I can't find a good tutorial for the photo side of it. Mine is a few weeks away from having the 1 year warranty expire and I don't even know if the camera is working properly. The buttons and elusive menu settings are such a problem, I can't even test it out properly. I'm wondering if I should sell this is get something else. Do you have any recommendations? I don't have the time or motivation to get into pro level photography. When I later get a new computer and editing system, I'll want a good video camera. While it would have been nice to have a bridge camera that can also do photos, the learning curve is more than I have time for om the photo side. What's a good camera to replace my tape based Sony Z1U HDV cam for video and it would be a nice plus it it also could good photos?

      Video and photo with a fixed lens? The Canon G line are absolutely fantastic. I used to own the G7X mark2. Get one of those used for a song. They do not have 4K. So if you care about 4K you can get the G7X mark 3. I had the G7X mark 2 and sold it what a mistake. I bought a G5X recently for like 250$ and I am loving it.
      Here is my video on the G7X: czcams.com/video/06cRyCtyxlw/video.html
      Oh and by the way. Don't feel bad. I struggled with my FZ2500 too long. They tried way too hard to put everything in one camera. I am amazed that Leica allows their name on such poor optics. The FZ2000 has less features and is way better.
      Hope this helps.
