    I'm in the UK Warren. Little place called Stockport. Known for hat making. Mercury was used in the making of hats in the old days. Mercury gets in the body, and turns you mad. That's where we get as 'Mad as a Hatter'. Good video Warren. M

    Hi, the leather straps are for air ducting, the piece of machinery out side was a big blower to push fresh air into the mine. Stay safe watch out for false floors.

    One of my favorites is the old mine exploration. As you mention, some of the woodwork, square set is breath taking. The amount of hard work that went into those mines is remarkable, especially in the hard rock mines, dug by hand. Just be careful of false floors and if you get into this and use a gas meter. It's cool to see some of these mines, you will find there are several folks that do the exploration videos. Thanks for taking us along Warren . Some of these mines are like taking a step back 100 years since humans have stepped foot into them. Lot of these mines were closed up prior to WW2, still containing artifacts, waiting for the guys to come back and never did. Few great channels- sorry if its redundant - @exploringabandonedmines @AbandonedandForgottenPlaces @TVRExploring @MinesoftheWest @TomandJulieMineExploring

  • @JonDingle
    @JonDingle Před 3 měsíci

    I wonder if a drone would work OK down there so you could send it places you don't want to explore? Very interesting stuff. Here in the UK and especially where I am in North Yorkshire there are many natural caves. The BIG danger even in summer is from flash floods. You go underground on a warm dry day and overhead without your knowledge the weather turns bad. It can be deadly because the next thing you know, flood water is filling the caves up faster than you can escape. Keep safe when exploring Warren and take us on some more exciting and interesting adventures.

Always fascinating about abandoned old mineshafts especially the depths and even levels of some of them, I even heard of Chinese migrants got trapped alive in one tunnel back in the 1800's and the owners left them and just dug another level, nice to see Harper and the rest of the crew,👍 thank you for the video Warren, hope you'll do more like that.👍

    I'm also a mechanic from Cornwall in the U.K and we are surrounded by old tin mines, to the point where there isn't really very much left under our feet ! A lot of our mining men emigrated to the USA and Australia when the tin prices collapsed, it used to be said that at the bottom of a hole anywhere in the world, you could find a Cornishman 😁😁
    My workshop is near an old mine called Wheal Busy, the U.S paratroopers were camped here in 1944 on the old workings site before D day, I often wonder how many of those brave young men returned home ?

    I too am intrigued by the feats the men in this country accomplished in the 1800s and 1900s. I have a cabin in the high rugged country of wyoming. The tie hacks supplied the rail road with a lot of timber. The massive amount of work to get that timber out of the mountains without diesel fuel is amazing to me.
