make sure to share your Halloween franchise ranking or at least your favorite in the series!
Happy Halloween
I absolutely love H20 I was 15/16 when the movie came out and I loved it. Josh Harnet was my crush at the time 😂. Probably the Halloween film I re-watch the most and I love that version of Laurie.
I loved this version so much!
I had a major crush on josh hartnet too, in fact I still do 😂
I also was 15 years old
So, I just recently discovered you and immediately subscribed because we seem to have very similar tastes in horror. Just watched Triangle for the first time this week and wowowow. So, I had a feeling we’d have the same favorite Halloween movie. I LOVE H20.
Halloween Ends was the least fan service friendly movie until the ending where two senior citizens fight in a kitchen. It’s still my favourite of newer Halloween movies, not necessarily because it’s less fan service but because it wasn’t afraid to have weird new ideas. It genuinely felt like less producer involvement (apart from the ending) and more freedom to the writers.
Lmbo. I hope they had their Life-Alert..
im pinging it now, H20 is gonna be top two
edit OMG IT WAS HIGH UP BUT WILL NOT SPOIL LESSGOOOOOO THAT MOVIE IS SO GOOD definitely your style!!!! i just watched Halloween 2018, happy halloween!!! super happy to see you enjoying the franchise
H20 is one of my favorite sequels sad to see it getting treated a little more negatively 😢
It's so good! I saw it in theatres, and just loved it.
I did enjoy Resurrection, but I hated what they did to Laurie in that movie.
Halloween H20 is the absolute best! I didn't know people disliked it so much until after I watched it recently.
I know I’ve seen the first Halloween YEARS ago, but since you ranked a 70’s movie so highly I think I’ll rewatch it tonight! I had no plans for this halloween other than maybe carving a pumpkin or watching something spooky, so I appreciate this rec 🖤
I 100% agree that Rob Zombie should have remade Texas chainsaw! (But love the Texas remake as it is) Although I like his take on Halloween (I prefer part 2. I actually think it’s amazing!) his aesthetic would have been so suited to it! Was really looking forward to hearing your ranking 💙🎃
I feel like his writing would fit TCM much better than Halloween, in Halloween it felt forced but the people in TCM might actually talk like that😂
I feel Rob Zombie should've done Friday the 13th, since House of 1000 Corpses was basically a Texas Chainsaw reboot.
A shame because he openly turned it down and said “that movie is perfect as it is!” I think he was too close to that film to even want to remake it, with Halloween he probably felt enough distance to be confident in mostly doing his own thing
your ranking is so accurate (according to me) AND im so glad someone else appreciates the campness of resurrection LIKE thats a top tier halloween movie to me
Finally Finally Finally!! Someone else put some respect on Resurrection!! I do understand the quirks with it but I feel like most people rank it so low just because everyone else does.
Halloween H2O is also my favorite. It’s always a vibe because of the 90s and the location. Love it so much!
I’m not watching a horror movie this year, had to take a break cause it made me so paranoid. A Sarah video is the perfect supplement 😊
Yay. So glad you enjoy the franchise ☺️😘
I love your tv with the VHS player, I had one as a kid and been on the lookout for one! ❤
I have been watching your videos from the beginning pretty much and I cannot express how happy I am that you now understand the greatness of this franchise! 🖤🖤🖤 Happy Halloween! 🎃
Been waiting for this for soo long so glad you’ve done it 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Not a popular opinion but I do enjoy watching Halloween 6. Not for the story, but for the small town Halloween aesthetic it gives off. It's definitely a comfort Halloween movie for me 😁
That's an interesting point. I always felt they got that part right. I was disappointed that they set the finale at the cold, sterile looking hospital. But the parts in the neighborhood looked great, as you say...and the earlier part in the barn, as well...
My defining timeline is HALLOWEEN 1978 , H II , H IV , H V , and H VI PC . It makes the most sense. H 1978 is a good stand alone. H II continues the story. I like H III , but it's unrelated. H IV picks up the story. H V hints about a new danger. And VI PC reveals many new elements. That's all I care about.
Always makes me happy to see someone get into some movies I love and for them to like them too. Halloween is probably my favourite movie franchise and I hold these movies very close to my heart. Who cares which one of the franchise is your favourite and which one is your least favourite? You like the franchise and you are talking about it which is awesome and all that matter to me. Great video and I’m so glad you have finally gotten around to watching through this series!
Yessss! I was so looking forward to seeing your ranking! Even better it’s on Halloween! 🎃 👻 🧡
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
Omg!! I can't explain how much i love watching your videos❤❤
Great content, just love the narrative. Thanks so much 😊
You are like me. I love H20! My favorite way to watch them is: (1) Halloween - 1978, (2) Halloween 2, and (3) Halloween H20! That is my preferred trilogy.
SAME! That’s the trilogy for me too.
Thanks for the post Sarah.Love the Halloween series 🎃🎃🎃
I'm a Halloween fan since I was a child. Girl love this video and your ranking! 100% agree with that
Happy Halloween 🎃
this is a fantastic ranking omg
i’ve been waiting for this day 😩 the ranking yea… but i’m talking about you being a certified halloween fan 😅
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! 🎃 Hope you’re doing well!!!!
Yesss!! Here for this! I love both Laurie and Jamie. I surprisingly like the Rob Zombie ones too but kinda really hate the new trilogy. 😬 it felt so unnecessary to me. Here’s my ranking:
Halloween
Halloween 4
Halloween H2O
Halloween 2
Rob Zombie’s Halloween
Halloween 5
Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 (upon recent rewatch I bumped this up a bit)
Halloween Resurrection
Halloween 2018
Halloween Kills
Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers
Halloween Ends
I don’t rank Halloween 3: Season of the Witch in this because it’s really just it’s own entity! I love it as a stand-alone film!
Here's my ranking worst to best
Halloween Season of the Witch (never seen it)
Halloween Ends
Halloween Rob Zombie
Halloween 2 Rob Zombie
Halloween Resurrection
Halloween 6
Halloween 5
Halloween 4
Halloween Kills
Halloween
Halloween 2
Halloween 1978
Halloween H2O
Ty for reviewing the Halloween movies. It’s my very favorite franchise and it was great to see ur opinions ❤
i love this!!
happy halloween!! 🎃🥰
I’m currently watching all the Halloween movies for the first time myself (I’ve watched 8 so far) so I’m gonna wait to watch this video but I can’t wait to see your rankings!
I love all of them, each brings its own special charm. 4 was the first I saw in the theatre so soft spot there-it was magical seeing a Halloween on the big screen for the first time. The audience went crazy. H20 handled the idea of trauma quite effectively and Jamie gave her best performance out of all her entries. It was originally supposed to take place in Maine, which would have given it the perfect atmosphere but it’s still a good time and gotta love the cast. 🎃
I think the most fun aspect of the Halloween franchise is the multiple storylines. It really gives you the option of picking what you like and leaving the rest out. In most cases though, it's best to know when you stop, none of them really wrap up clean.
i love that today we’re wearing the same shirt i just got it from spirit halloween and i love it
The Halloween series is amazing 🎃
I agree with your top 3 Halloween films of the franchise! I’ll only switch the order of your number 1 and 2 picks lol
Good ranking and cool video Sarah!👉😃👈
Happy Halloween!🎃
I too have such a soft spot for H20 and Laurie's character arc in that one (Resurrection pissed me off naturally lol). But I was 17 when H20 came out so it was the first Halloween movie I ever saw in a theater and the energy in that theater was electrifying (especially coming after the first two Scream films re-invigorated horror).
H20 was the first Halloween movie I watched and back then I was pretty new to horror and honestly had no idea who Michael Myers was. I loved it so much, that I watched it almost every single day after school. The Curse... was the second movie I bought on VHS, and Ressurection was the first Halloween movie I bought on DVD. So these three hold a special place in my heart and now so many years later my partner bought me all three in 4k with this Scream Factory Collection. :D So I understand why you ranked The Curse last, but it is so nostalgic to me, that I love it even being so bad of a Halloween movie :)
Love love love that Halloween H2O was your number one, it’s my fave! Soooooo good! Such a fun watch! 🎃
Ranking is solid as hell 👏👏👏
i know halloween 2 (the OG) is objectively silly and kinda ridiculous but i love it so much it's a comfort movie
Happy Halloween 🎃
I'm so glad you enjoyed the franchise!!! The classic long franchises like this are so hit and miss. I didn't watch the whole franchise until I was in my mid 20s, so I didn't have the nostalgia for it either. But it still wormed its way into a special place in my heart lol.
My top 4 are: Halloween Kills, Halloween (1978), Halloween (2018), Halloween H20 🎃
I haven't even gotten to you talking about the movies yet. This already earns a like because of the adorable cat.
I’ve recommended it before but it always comes to mind when you mention your love of reality TV! There’s a cheesy low budget movie called Kolobos with this premise, but i actually reallllllly love that movie! You can tell that although there’s a low budget it was made with a lot of care.
I've seen your bottom 3 pics and I'm shocked that Halloween: Resurrection hasn't popped up yet. Lol That's MY worst... then, part 5. Ugg I LOVE Halloween Ends... The entity possessing Michael, trying to pass to a new host because Michael has taken too much damage... Michael refusing to let go.i loved it.
Great video!!!
Hell yeah glad to see some regard for Resurrection!
Adorable cat! Happy halloween!
Happy halloween, H20 is my fav too. I loved SMG’s Scream cameo within it and being so like Scream hahaha. Scream is my fav horror franchise.
Happy Halloween 🎃🎃👻 👻 x
Absolutely agree with most of your list! Especially #1 and #2 🖤🧡
OMFG... this is hard!
As someone from a small midwestern town and with two sociology degrees, I LOVE Halloween Kills! Yeah it was a little goofy but the angry mob and chaos does it for me every time.
Not to mention, just look at what was happening in real life while they were filming that movie. Remember the "summer of 'love'"? We literally had ridiculous people with mob mentalities doing ridiculous shit in real life. So, I personally didn't see the mob aspect of the movie as being unrealistic at all. And thought it was good commentary on how a mob mentality and acting on pure emotion instead of critical thinking is always a bad thing and leads to chaos. I took something completely different from that aspect than most people, so I actually kinda liked it. I think the "evil dies tonight" chant was SUPPOSED to feel a bit obnoxious, because mobs in real life tend to be pretty obnoxious.
H20 is my favorite, not my favorite mask tho but its the best. I love the backstory of how it was made. I think our personal ranking is almost the same.
Watching this while I’m wearing the same shirt!
Best Halloween treat 🎃🎃
As someone who doesn’t really like this franchise (I’ve only seen the first 6 so far), I was very shocked to hear that the Halloween fans hate 6😅 it’s the first one I actually enjoyed, though I guess that makes sense bc it was so different, that’s why I liked it though
You didn’t enjoy the first 2?
@@shannonblegh1919 sadly no:( they were just too slow for me I think, but I watched them before I really started getting into horror, so when I finish all of them I’ll probably try to watch at least the first one again and see if I like it more with time
Halloween resurrection is always dead last lol. That one is wild! Love you though
H20 was the first halloween movie I watched as a teenager so it will always have a special place in my heart
Took you long enough. 😉. Glad you get it now. I love Resurrection, it’s my guilty pleasure film in the franchise. I will have to do my own ranking. I think you did a good job overall.
I didn’t expect to see resurrection so high
Happy Halloween yall !
I’m so happy you love the franchise, certainly one of my favorites! Solid ranking as well. One thing I particularly love is the variety of style and feel throughout the franchise. Every movie is unique to its era and specializes in a particular tone. And I agree HKills rocks! Happy Halloween 🎃🔪
Aside from the terrible dialogue, the worst part about Rob Zombie's Halloween is that he gave Michael Myers a backstory. The reason why Michael is such a great horror villain and what makes the original movie so great, is the fact that we don't know why he snapped. It's the unexplainable evil that's so effective about the original movie, and providing a backstory dissolves all of that mystique.
Well it’s also very unbelievable that most all characters are bastards so Zombie wants us to root for an intentional sympathetic slasher villain Myers because he’s killing awful characters the audience hates.
Halloween H20 is my favorite, too. I love 90s horror and that movie is full of it.
whenever people criticize you for being negative, show them THIS video. You talk about all the movies with so much love, even though some of them are soooooo trash and not worthy haha. I always love your perspective! xoxoxoxo
Fun list! I don't like H20 or Resurrection but it's cool seeing those rank higher for some.
I’m so glad you’ve watched them all! I haven’t seen the new trilogy yet, but otherwise my rankings are really similar to yours!
are u a Halloween fan
I also have Halloween Kills in 3rd place, it warmed my heart to see someone else rank it so high.
Halloween kills, resurrection, and h20 are fun, people hate fun. Ha
Halloween Ends is really well made. I think it’s a matter of accepting the story being told instead of wanting it to be something else.
I also got a black cat he’s called Onyx he gives me good luck
Happy Halloween! I am team Strode. Back in the day, 4,5, & 6 were never on tv or showcased on the Halloween featured shelves at Video stores. They were the ones that some video stores didn’t even have. The 2000’s AMC started showing them. I agree, I love H2O! And that line.
4,5 and 6 were in all video stores in the mid 90s but not on tv till amc the first 2 were the main ones on sci-fi channel and TNT
I assumed you’d like resurrection or 2018 the most so I was surprised! H20 is one of my favs tho, it’s what got me into the franchise because it’s the most “scream” style Halloween haha
I like that your ranking is different because you don’t have the nostalgia of watching them when you were little🖤 my favorites are 4&5 because I remember watching them vividly when I was a child. Love Danielle Harris I also love the Rob zombie movies they are very gory and hard to watch but I feel have more action than the original movies. 😊
i agree with your top 3 wholeheartedly
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃🖤💀✨💜🌙
I need to get all the halloween movies still. Working on it
I recently re-watched the franchise and here is my current ranking :
1.Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween II (1981)
3. Halloween Ends
4. Halloween H20
5. Halloween III : Season of the Witch
6. Halloween (2018)
7. Halloween 4 : The Return of Michael Myers
8. Halloween (2007)
9. Halloween II (2009)
10. Halloween 6 : The Curse of Michael Myers
11. Halloween Kills
12. Halloween Resurrection
13. Halloween 5 : The Revenge of Michael Myers
Thanks
happy halloween! Allegedly Rob Zombie didn’t want to make Halloween 2 and it clearly shows lol
this checks out haha
I really enjoyed this video and it inspired me so continue with the franchise because I stopped watching after Halloween 5 and then just went to the new trilogy. Very controversial but my favourite is Halloween Ends and then Halloween H20 😂😅
“So now I no longer feel like a fake fan and I can buy merch” LMAO I LIVEEE
H2O is my favorite Laurie Strobe especially towards the end. It’s #2 in my rankings. Happy Halloween
YOUR KITTY what an angel
I highly recommend giving Ends a rewatch. I hated it on first viewing and now it's my 2nd favorite of the franchise.
Will you be doing a review of the fall of the house of usher?
yes in a monthly recap of October!
my favorite horror franchise!! 🔥
I knew you were gonna love H2O! It's my fav as well! Now, about Resurrection...
I actually think H20 is my favorite as well! I was approaching my teen years and I loved the idea that we were seeing a 20-year follow-up! It also stars JGL and LL!!
H20 supremacy!!! Hands down the best on screen Laurie v.s. Michael battle we will ever have 😭
Halloween I&II (78&81) are my all time favorites!
I agree with you on Rob Zombie doing Texas Chainsaw Massacre, we need that movie! And I love House of a 1000 Corpses.
you’re so right about Halloween Kills
4 absolutely deserved that extra half star for the ending, well noted
Halloween H20 is the first one I ever watched in the franchise at like 14 years old and it has stuck with me ever since lol
I've seen the new Halloween trilogy, the Rob Zombie reboots, the first two original Halloween movies, Season of the Witch, and the one with Thomas Ian Nicholas. Now, I'm currently rewatching all of the Halloween movies including the ones I haven't seen with the exception of Season of the Witch because that seems like another movie entirely. Next up: Revenge of Michael Myers.
H20 is not only my fav Halloween movie, but also in my top 5 horrors of all time. It has a huuuuge personal significance, it affected me so much. I was a kid when it came out and you can imagine how scared it made me. I looove it 🤩 2nd place is the original, and 3rd is the 2018 one.
