    1975. This was in nineteen seventy friggin five!!
    This song was decades ahead of its time. It remains a classic for those of us that heralded the first waves of classic metal.

    Dio's vocals at their peak and Ritchie Blackmore. What more could you ask for? If you do any Dio era Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell is a must and Sign of the Southern Cross & Falling Off the Edge of the World are great songs also.

    Cozy Powell was a hell of a Drummer freakin insane and One of a Kind. In his early days playing Rock with traditional grip looked awesome. R.I.P Cozy Powell and Dio.

    One of the greatest metal singers, great reaction my friend ❤️. Love everything DIO. Do one off his last Heaven and Hell alubum he's like in his 70s, the song is called "Bible Black'. You'll love it. Last work he ever did.

    So glad you reacted to this one, my man. One of my favorite songs of all time and everybody goes crazy on it. This album has been voted the #1 metal album of all time, which is subjective of course, but that speaks to how fire the whole album is. And you know I was singing every word!
    Next track might be Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath. Ronnie said it's his favorite song he ever wrote.

      The single greatest vocal performance ever in rock. No one has ever come close to that performance before or after, including Ronnie himself, and it’s hard to imagine anyone ever giving one that great again. Perfection. Yet he made it look effortless.

      Catch the Rainbow from Munich '77 was also very awesome but Mistreated was definitely the best out of the whole Munich concert and definitely also one of his best performances of his career

    Before Dragonforce, before Blind Guardian, before Iron Maiden there was Rainbow! That from which all power metal was born from. Granted this is just audio and not visual but Dio here with Rainbow is where the Metal Horns hand gesture was born from because he was doing it all the time in his performances.
    Totally singing and doing Dio style hand gestures and body movements.

    "How many of y'all are singing?" Always, any time I hear DIO's voice, I sing it back; was fortunate to see him sing with Black Sabbath in July of 2009 at Red Rocks, only 10 months before he passed, he was 66 yo, he had the cancer at the time, and he was still fucking incredible live!

    It always amuses me when people mention how long the songs are.. 6 minutes.. 8 minutes.. 13 minutes.. whenever the length is more than about 3 minutes "why is it so long?" or '8 minutes? I can't sit through that." or whatever. It amazes me that these people could attend any concert at all.. "the same artist for one hour?"
    The point of an 8 or 13 or even a 20 minute song is to enjoy the journey. To get lost in the music or the story being told through the lyrics or the instruments as the case may be. A 3 minute song is not much of a journey.
    I did add a like because you seemed to enjoy the music, however. You can never go wrong with anything Dio performed on. Vocally or otherwise.

    Man On The Silver Mountain is another badass Rainbow tune. The Last In Line, All The Fools Sailed Away, Lock Up The Wolves, Invisible, Rainbow In The Dark, We Rock are all solo bangers. He did a few albums with Black Sabbath as well. Heaven and Hell, Children Of The Sea, Neon Knights, The Sign Of The Southern Cross, The Mob Rules, I, Lady Evil are a few good ones.

    If you wanna pay full respect to Ronnie Dio then you need to go back to where he started. He formed a band called Elf. He was a bass guitartist and vocals for awhile then just vocals.

    I can't sing it for two reasons: in my office with lots of co workers who would not appreciate it and, more importantly, DIO's is not a voice you sing with. It is a voice you get from in front of and just listen to.
