I had the pleasure of seeing rainbow in 1977 on Long Island in New York when they were in their prime I was 17.the rainbow you see across the stage was real it went along with the music it was mind blowing..Blackmore-Dio-Powell-Bain & Tony Carey on keyboards...I also would like to add this is Ritchie Blackmores band he put dio on the map if it wasn’t for him RJD wouldn’t be as known as he is today.

I was lucky enough to see them decades ago at the Rainbow Theatre in London. Dio is one of a kind. Love Rainbow. Cozy Powell, one of the best drummers out there too.

@kevin wh i do hate 90% of the crap nowadays. I prefer the music/instruments to be played by actual humans not computers or whatever it is they use. I love good ol guitars bass and drums played by actual musicians❤

All music has its run. Hip/hop is dying, something different will rise. Rock was dying, and now something new is coming. The old gaurd is getting old. Tribute bands will continue some of it. The rest lies in the hands of bands like Bullet for my Valentine and Cage the Elephant. Us old dudes may struggle with it, but it's pretty good.
There will never be a devotion to craft like we saw, pinnacle in the 90's.
Raw, virtuoso talent will always rear it's head, when you least expect it.

If you like that song, you should listen to his song Sign of the Southern Cross, when he sang for Black Sabbath. It's another song about his fascination with the stars and with magic. The immortal Ronnie James Dio of he sings it you can bet it’s gonna be sick. He was with Black Sabbath and he had his own band as well. Check out the live performance of last in line or rainbow in the dark one of the few guys who can hit every note live. Also the guitarist here is Ritchie Blackmore he’s a beast.

Such a classic tune, 'real' music. Unfiltered, unmixed, straight up greatness! Not bad for someone who admitted he could'nt sing. Ronnie James Dio is the singer. Do a little research on him, google him and you’ll find out the man is a legend in the rock music community, he had one of the most powerful voices in rock music. Started with Rainbow, sang for Black Sabbath for a few years before he started his own, very famous solo career as Dio. Was a true rock star as he headed his own band until 2010, when unfortunately he passed away from stomach cancer. Ronnie James Dio is a true legend.
