  • In this episode, surface preparation expert, Josh Jones, takes us on a journey to explore the benefits of utilizing a densifier.
Concrete densifiers are chemicals that can be used to improve the durability and longevity of concrete. They penetrate the porous surface of concrete and react with the calcium hydroxide present, resulting in the formation of a denser and harder surface.
Applying a densifier offers various benefits such as enhanced moisture resistance, protection against stains and chemicals, reduced porosity, decreased damage and pitting, improved slip resistance, and reduced dust. Densifiers are easy to apply and do not require rinsing.

    Thanks for the video.
I'm about to apply Lithium Silicate to a little outdoor garden wall that is made out of some upcycled chamotte bricks which origin from a curing tunnel of an old brick factory near my place. I chose LithiumSilicate for more colour and shineniness as the potassium silicate would leave some haze on the surface?
So i wonder if I should do some gindings first befor i apply the lithium silicate solution? I mean the colourful chamotte bricks are kind of rough at the surface anyway...
I plan to do some 1:1 dilution with destilled water so the LS is supposed to penetrate deeper into the brickwork?
What do you think? Will some silicate surface finish also work on other material than concrete as well?
