Those brake kits push the wheels out 7/8” on each side. I made zero offset disc brakes with 61-68 Impala roller bearing hubs, 79 Pontiac Trans Am rear rotors, and big D-52 calipers. Brackets on ebay.

The air hose fitting in the carb is for hooking up an air compressor. Its pretty much like a turbo.

Dude we don't get hurt easier, we just tolerate a lot more pain than when we were younger. We will hold our arms against hot surfaces longer, knowing it'll heal, just to get it done. Maybe we get wiser with age, but sometimes I feel like I just get dumber...

I also noticed the steering box didn't align with the center of the hole in the firewall on my install. I made 3 shims 3/8 of an inch thick to get the box where the eyecrometer says it looks right. I also wanted to retain the column shift. My stock column was junk so I bought an Ididit column and rag joint. Even doing it the way I did I had to fabricate a lower steering column mount to bolt on the inside of the firewall for shift linkage clearance. For the shift linkage I used the complete setup from an 87 GMC I had in the parts pile. The lower arm had to be heated and reshaped some to get the alignment right. Looks like we used the same A-arm kit too. If your column is good you should be able to shorten it and use the rag joint you have. Good luck, I look forward to your videos every week.

I have a complete video on my channel on how to do the power steering for trim-five chevy. @LovettSpeedShop The inner shaft needs to be cut to 31.3/4 inch long then used with the rag joint. to keep factory steering column. I built the GM 605 box but it should work out with the new box.

converted a couple of columns before. a front wheel bearing for a riding mower fits 3/4 shaft and has a flange to hold in place. used some exhaust pipe as a sleeve, worked nicely. and cheap.

I see you have stabilized the car by putting a tall lift size stand under the rear bumper near the center of the car. Good idea. I was thinking in the other video that you should ratchet strap the front end to the hoist. The lift stand is a wiser idea. The stand is also most likely much safer also. If that car had fallen off the lift I think your wife would have been extremely upset with the damage that would have been done to the car. That is once she knew you were not hurt. I do not think she would have forgiven you for a very long time. I am glad that none of that is likely to happen now. aspecally the chance for people to get hurt or worse.

I know it pulls a burr on yer fantail, but start the patron page so I can donate a nickel here an there when nickels show up on the third of the month. SSI comes out on the third and I got me some splurge monies I would love to throw your way. I am sure that others feel the same way. Asides Mr. shevy, I may only live one more day an I don't want people fighting over my cookie jar. I am feeling a lot better now, for a while it was hang on matilda, I'm about to join ya but just gas... a healthy "putt" an all cleared up. I bet you feel good knowing I splained all that out. Glad to see "mothers" car get the VIP treatment. I was thinking that IDIDIT had steering columns with the three on the tree. Gonna look right fine when done an something tells me that with everyone chopping four doors into two doors, four doors just might be the rare auto someday.

Hope you don't mind a "silly" question: Are you sure those calipers are not switched side for side?? Thought the hose was supposed to go into the top of the caliper?? Couldn't see the bleeder (also top mandatory). Might change your hose orientation.

Most of these cheap aftermarket bolts are worthless, a few years back I bought some replacement rear end u-bolts for a Ford truck and I actually went to use a torque wrench on it and had the threads greased and clean and it pulled the threads right off the u bolt, and the nut only made it to 50ft lbs when it pulled the threads and the back of the box said to torque it to 80 ft lbs, what a joke sometimes your better off with factory bolts from the junkyard which is what I ended up doing.
