I agree..but what really caught my eye, is the flaps hanging down in the way.

That is such a great setup Brad! Iâm happy that itâs in your life! Thanks for all the work you do to create and share these videos. Iâm always excited to see a new Trail Recon video! God speed brother.
Brad you should talk more about costs with all the gear. With probably over $250k in vehicle/equipment costs, itâs seems like an important oversight imo.
The camper looks great! I could definitely see getting something like this for my small family and I.
Well done on achieving your dream. Now the adventures can begin. Happy trails for you both đ
Thank you!
Brad,
You are blessed to have a family that enjoys getting out with you. With your sweet Truck / camper setup you are going to have a blast with your adventures and a happy wife with you! Keep the great content coming, great job on this and all your videos. V.
Nice overview, thanks. Surprisingly camper companies have removed almost all storage from these rigs. My 8â 2001 weighs just 1400 lbs and has under bed storage, wardrobe, pantry, kitchen cabinets, and drawers but still has all the same accessories as yours. Holds true, they donât make them like they used to. Thanks again for the quality video
Best video Iâve seen on these pop ups. Very informative and went over all the details without having to hear crappy music or screaming people in the background. Looking to buy a Four Wheel âFleetâ for my Tacoma.
I can see how excited you are about this camper. God bless you on your adventures!
Very cool, Brad! Can't wait to see some beautiful sunrise coffee footage outside this rig!
Congratulation đon the new camper have fun be safe. Canât wait to see the videos of you guy camping. đđđ„đ
Love it! I never really considered truck bed campers until I started watching DownToMob's channel. Now that is my dream setup. Once the 4Runner goes I am going to get a truck and a bed camper.
A slide in pop up was our first camper and we had a lot of adventures in it. I also love nothing more than to have my wife along. Good luck to you.
You're going to love traveling cross country in a slidein/cabover camper. We've had ours for 17 years and covered most of the lower 48 and a fair bit of Canada.
Congratulations! Very nice rig. Thankyou for a great new video. Yâall all take care and be safe.
We've been looking at these for a few years now and are finally getting closer to actually doing something about it. I have to say that your review is hands-down, the best I've seen on CZcams! Thank you! Very informative and thorough. Hope you enjoy your new Hawk! đđ»
That's awesome, glad to see you living the dream keep up the good work and great content, definitely a motivator for goals in my life
Man o absolutely love it!! You pushed me over the edge!! THANKS
I love my simple setups - Taco w/ topper when 4wd needed, low-budget econoline van stripped for carrying MTB and moto's, and newer mini-van for road trips, but this is the end-goal. Comfort is inevitable : ) Great build
Iâve had this combo... power wagon with a hawk for a couple years now, absolutely love it, the hot water, fridge, furnace where a game changer for my wife.
What modifications did you get to support the payload?
Love the t-shirt
Pack it in
Pack it out
Fine looking setup, enjoy your time with it , looking forward to seeing more of the POWER WAGON đđ»
Your truck I possibly the best, cleanest Power Wagon Iâve seen!! Beautiful buildđđ
Thank you!
Very informative đ one of the best four wheel camper walk around/reviews âïž
Haha - when I saw this I was thinking that you look like a kid on Christmas morning. It really came through that the reason you're so excited is that this enables you to share your passion for the outdoors with your wife.
Great review as always - love the setup.
100%. Thank you!
Brad, that is an awesome rig. I love the low profile and all of the amenities it offers. I begin my van life in September and will begin the first leg from Virginia to San Diego. My daughter is flying from SD to help me drive and spend some time together as we don't see each other for months at a time. After 63 years of backpacking I'm leaving it to join the van lifers. I'm housesitting for my brother up at Lake Arrowhead in October so you might see me cruising around on his Custom Road Glide. My sister is allowing me to set up base at her house in Sacramento giving me access to the Northwest. I'm excited about seeing some of the bases and radar sites I was stationed on many years ago; however, I believe most of them are closed now. Anyway, I've always loved your channel and you've inspired me to get out and see places I would normally not visit. I hope to meet you and Marco some day on the road. Take care and be safe.
I love those Four Wheel Campers, I love oddball and rare campers period. You guys are going to have a blast with that rig, enjoy!
Currently watching the vid from our Trailmanor pop up. I still love tent camping but it's nice to have some of the creature comforts sometimes. It's nice to have options based on the type of adventure.
I have a full size with a fifth wheel but I still do the jeep tent setup . Roughing it out there is the part I love most. Congrats on your new slide in trailer. Hope it works out for u. I personally enjoyed more of your old jeep videos. Maybe one day you will go back to a jeep. Keep up the overlanding either way!
That setup looks comfortable enough to travel for months on end. Very cool!
âSuper important to meâ reads, the only way I could get her out! Lol! Like the overview! Thanks for sharing
Brad thatâs an interesting option for camping, thank you for sharing and looking forward to seeing reports on actual tripsâŠ
Think Iâd need to purchase some rattle cans of black paint and complete those stripes where the exterior hatches etc were skipped. It would âcompleteâ the stripe.
This is practically the exact same setup i wanna do with my 2022 pw. I know this vid is old but it still gets me excited to know that it can be done with some upgrades. Very nice.
These are very interesting campers. Love the extra kiddo bed too.
Looks like an excellent setup. Thanks, Brad
Looks cool, and wish you all the best on your upcoming adventures in the RAM
Canât wait to see some adventure content featuring this set up, detailed and entertaining as always Brad. Awesome.
Coming soon!
Very nice setup! The slide in camper also would allow someone to pull behind a jeep in many of the trailers made from old truck beds. I know you already have a trailer with RTT, so that wouldn't be needed for your family, but others might consider if they already have an old truck bed trailer.
Amazing setup, sooo jealous. Congrats Brad, i know you will put that to good use.
Very cool! Sweet set up. I'm sure you will really enjoy getting out to those hard to get to places but enjoying some extra comfort!
Congrats, I looking foward to have one off this camper. Have I great and safe trip.
That lift is looking real good.
Congrats.... I will wait for the trip video with this amazing expedition vehicle.
Congratulations on your new toys. I was looking at those and the project M. Keep us posted on how you like it.đđ
I've had a FWC Fleet on my truck since December of 2015. I've traveled all over the west (~260,000 miles) nearly all boondocking. The FWC is fantastic and reliable. I've never had any regrets - and I'm picky. I'm going to buy a new truck - but the FWC is fine as is.
Awesome build, Brad! Excited to see all the adventures to come!
Thank you!
Nicely done Brad! The older we get the more one appreciates basic comforts. Itâs got everything you need, and a smiling wife! Looking forward to your adventures with this rig.
Beautiful setup. You'll get countless years of use from it. We currently have a f250 7.3 with a Hallmark. It's the only camper we've owned that hasn't fallen apart. The Four Wheel are very comparable. We see them in the desert of idaho and Nevada. Unfortunately we are selling our through Hallmark. I have lower back fusion, and getting in and out of the bed is just getting too tough. We never planned to sell. Enjoy your awesome setup. Wish we could continue to enjoy ours.
Glad you found a way to get your wife out into the backcountry with you more often Brad! Been working on the same thing with my wife. We were fly camping and our super Cub for a few years, but her dietary issues made it impossible, moved to the truck camper, and a nice overland trailer I built up from a Smitty built. Started traveling the country in a super c this summer, but I'm hanging on to the small units once we do what we want to do with the super c
Heâs gone the other side. No more rock crawling for him now. đ Iâve explored a couple
of routes to build an adventure vehicle. First was getting a RAM PW but having the camper on the aluminum flatbed. I also looked at van options. Test drove the MB 4x4 Sprinter and also the RAM 3500 Promaster. Couldnât decide on which flat form so last summer, I rented a full size FORD Tribute camper van and set out for an adventure in the Canadian Rockies- it was a great experience however as you can imagine, the van have limited capabilities in terms of driving on difficult terrain- youâll end end at campsites and boondocking could be a challenge too. Cost also comes into play for both options (forget about where to park both behemoth when youâre back in the city). So 2
months ago I ordered a â21 4R TRD Pro (canât wait to get deliver so I can start my overland build) as I was inspired by some of TrailReconâs video. AND NOW THIS? Iâve always suspected this built when he picked up the RAM PW and with the suspension upgrades recently. Heâs gone other side! đ€Łâïžđ

?((?
amazing setup man, congrats! love the channel love the content
I just purchased the exact same model in charcoal after watching this video. Someone canceled their order and I grabbed it.
Just deciding on the Ram 1500 rebel or the F150 hybrid with the 7.2 kw generator.
Thanks for the great video.
Love it man. Great addition and that truck is beautiful!
Last video i commented wether you are putting a cab on the truck and now here it is. Looks gorgeous brad
Congratulations Brad! You really transformed this rad pickup into the ultimate expedition vehicle!
Thanks!
Nice . You didn't missed any details.
Love your videos.
Great set-up. Thank you for the walk through tour.
Totally Awesome and happy for you guys, also look towards your feedback on the overall setup in use!
Excellent choice Brad! Wish I knew you were buying one up here I'm in Sacramento and sell Rv's and I know that place well. You're going to love having this on the back of that Power Wagon!
Very cool that will provide you an your wife some great comfort an not impede on your adventures. Looks good brad as always be safe đđđđđ
Nice setup, congratulations! I just got my Fleet in May, we are pretty satisfied with it
Awesome Bradđ...the minute you said you were doing a lift and needed the rear suspension upgrade...rear camper was my guess...can't wait to see the overlanding videos!đđŻ%đŠđș
Wow. Wow. Wow. Never saw this coming. Best of luck you ya Brad. Happy wife, HAPPY LIFE.....
Man I tell ya. I love your full size build. This thing is a beast!
Love those Four Wheel Campers. I have a Bigfoot fiberglass truck camper on my F250 and also a Jeep ZJ. I have no problem tent camping with the Jeep but the truck camper is just so much more comfortable, especially with the wife. She has a full kitchen at her disposal for cooking and a place to escape the bugs and wind. I am working on a setup to flat tow the Jeep with the F250 to have the best or both worlds. The funny thing is it's cheaper to flat tow the Jeep with the F250 than it is to just drive the Jeep because the F250 gets better mpg and burns diesel which is less cost per gallon. We don't have AC in our camper either but so far it hasn't been a huge issue because we just go to high altitude or north in the summer. Sometimes we will take a break on the road and nap and then it can get hot.
Thanks for the great video. I get excited whenever you post videos. I never thought about over-landing or camping but after viewing your videos; Iâm truly inspired to get a pickup truck and create a similar setup. Maybe one day we can do a trip together, Iâm in Northern California. Please keep up the great content. We truly appreciate it.
As usual great.
Thanks Brad !
Really cool camper. I wonder if you still have it...and if not, why not? I'll go look through your old vids to see if you've already talked about this....anyway. Very cool! Thanks for showing us around.
Awesome. Weâre in the market for next year as long as prices donât go through the roof. This was very informative, thank you.
Useful hint: I'm old, raising and lowering the top was a bit of an issue with me. On my first trip someone showed me how to use the roof fan as an assist. WOW! What a difference - its now EASY - especially when there's a brisk wind.
So Happy for you Brad. You deserve it!!
Thanks so much
I have a 2017 FWC Fleet. Itâs been great. Youâll especially like it when the weather is bad outside.
BTW, thereâs a mod you can do to the fan to slow it down. That should quiet it down and reduce the power draw.
Navy Shower , oh yeah been there done that. Nice video.
Congrats! We love ours so far. They are well constructed and tough too. It will be another few days before the video comes out on our channel, but we bashed ours up pretty good in Moab last weekend. All things considered given what I did to it, it held up very well and is fully repairable which is a comfort. My brother has a project M on order for his Power Wagon but I keep telling him he might want to give the slide in some more thought as well but I'm sure either option will be great in the end.
Mopeka makes a propane level sensor that works over Bluetooth, it can be a little finicky but it works pretty well. In the App it only has 20 pounds and larger tank settings but there is also an enter your own size option so I think it would work for you.
I love the new look of your power wagon. The lift and camper look amazing. Great set up.
Thank you!
Congratulations!! My wife and I love our FWC Hawk. Same layout as yours minus the inside shower and cassette toilet. On an F-150 4X4 so its not as trail capable as yours, but I'm working on getting it somewhat better.
When I lived up in the Pacific Northwest, I would see many slide in campers. They usually had turnbuckles on the 4 corners of the camper that would help secure the camper to the truck bed. They were located close to where the jack lifting plates are. There were brackets that would come out of the 4 corner pockets of the bed or be secured to a bracket that mounted to the bottom of the truck bed. This can easily slide out on a steep up hill slope.
I have an old Grandby, on my '93 Ram250 Long bed 4x4.
Two suggestions:
1: Swap out that 'fantastic fan' for a MaxxAir fan. You'll be MUCH happier, AND, you can use it in bad weather! (Rain doesn't come in it!)
2: Look up Exped Mega Mat.
I swapped out my foam mattress for that inflatable pad, and I absolutely LOVE it. I can adjust it, based on how badly my back feels!
(Please be mindful to deflate it, when you're driving around, as large changes in elevation (and heat) may cause 'stretching/ballooning' problems)
Other than that, congrats, and welcome to the FWC family!
Great project Brad.
I hope you can enjoy it very much. Greetings from Costa Rica.
So cool! Have fun Brad!!
Great walk around Brad!! I was going to make a similar comment as Bob đ, wish I had the budget to have 2 vehicles setup similar to what you have with the camper and the jeep. Love the shirt btw đ
Nice, very convenient canât wait the adventures videos.
Awesome excited for you. In about 2 years I want to do a road trip from Phoenix to Alaska and back. In the future, drive across Canada
I hope you plan to make some videos camping in this thing! I cant wait to see them!!
We had that model for about 9 months a few years back. Loved the low profile and it looks cool on the truck. We had ours on a built tundra...Great camper for the desert when the wind is below 10 kts. Unfortunately itâs not that great in places where the wind blows and it rains. We live in the northwest and battled condensation and nearly lost the roof to several windy days along front range in Montana..
Thanks for the video..
Nothing better than having options. One dimension camping doesnât exist. Have fun!
Great video, looking forward to the updates. Recently switched from tacoma and trailer to Dodge and FWC also (for versatility and convenience).
6:54 âI may put some things in here but donât tell anybodyâŠâ
As he tells EVERYBODY. Hahaha good stuff.
That is my dream rig. The mods on the PW is top notch!
Man you have a bunch of options now. Nice set-up!
Congrats, Brad.
Congrats Brad, super nice.
That was absolutely the best video Iâve seen on the four wheel campers. Thanks for posting. And lube that back door hinge đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Looks good Brad. Looking forward to seeing how you use this setup.
Thanks đ
Very excited to see more videos on this rig!
More to come!
I think itâs best to have different modes of rigs to camp with. Sometimes we think that itâs important to commit to one rig and stick with that decision, but we have a travel trailer for some things and a similar truck camper for other trips that are more transient and hopping from here to there. Good for you!
Sure that's a nice luxury to have if you can afford it, but it certainly isn't necessary. Most people have to save for years to get one camper and if they choose it carefully based on their preferred travel style, that one camper will serve their needs perfectly.
Youâre on the same path as my parents. Started off withâŠjeep, then ram with pop up bed camper, now itâs the same truck, no camper pulling travel trailer.
That's gonna be awesome for you guys!
Very nice! I just bought a newer Tundra a few months ago and trying to decide if I want one of these or a nice off road pop up.
Have fun on your next adventure, it'll be nice to have the wife with you.
POWERCAMPER! Congratulations!
Awesome Brad! Great set up
