As a former crane operator I can confirm that a lot of hours of math does go into tricky lifts like this. Even getting it done in polybridge is an amazing feat. If only polybridge had a wind setting...
Hello
oh no not the wind XD
@@raymondarrington5339 hello there
Oh lord imagine just 10mph winds. Yikes
I always had a question about cranes: is the counter weight on the cranes adjusted to match Precise and exactly what you are lifting?

"Perfectly balanced"
You could not have ended this video any better.
Instead of larger/heavier counterweights, you could've moved them further back... Would've been less weight to lift.
And fewer physics nodes for the game to render!
Good point, increasing torque might've been good enough.
In this episode, an engineer is going to bend space-time by trying to lift too much weight

Hello
@@raymondarrington5339 hello
Perhaps try making the jib to the rear longer (on the largest crane) adding cables to the main jib, then lift the weights up at the back with some hydraulics as it picks the other cranes up?
Cool! I think if you made crane 1 very very tiny (smallest possible contraption that could be considered a crane) and wooden and light, you could do it with unbreakable off! :) Because then, even crane 2 could be significantly smaller and lighter than your current crane 1.
Try a bridge that builds itself
Ok mumbo jumbo
nice cranes. I didnt think this is possible in polybridge.
For the last crane, I thought you would have built one of those T-shaped cranes that are on top of buildings.
Challenge: do this with unbreakable off.
5:18 you cant expect me to believe you didnt mean to craft a large phallic curve hahaha
Finally.
A video of Matt doing what he does best on his channel.
And Polibridge.
Turning dongs into socially semi-acceptable objects?
You also could've used stationary cranes. Not just portable ones.
Try changing the sizes with exponential growth or in powers of 2. The first crane, being 1, would need a crane the size of 2, so double the size, weight, thickness etc. The following cranes would have to be to the power of 2 of the most previous crane. Crane 1- 1. Crane 2- 1^2=2 (don’t get 2 this way Ik but just make it double the first). Crane 3- 2^2=4. Crane 4- 4^2=16. I believe this is the main reason it was so difficult to go from the 2nd crane to the 3rd, and really struggled from the 3rd crane to the 4th. Because they needed to be far bigger with more counterweight to compensate for the previous cranes. The counterweight on the 4th crane should be 16x the weight (size) as the first crane. I would like to see you try this again using this method
Subbed for getting your dog to hate architects too.

Your video might end up being featured on Plainly Difficult as a Crane tragedy LoL
OMG, i need help breathing after this, my god, havnt laught this hard in a long time
That low framerate is not because of the GPU, but because of the CPU!
Hello
Nope, it's the game engine I'm pretty sure! I have a 5950x!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming You're not wrong, as the engine does the physics, it's just that the physics are being calculated on the CPU. :)

Who's excited for his 250k special soon les gooooooo
At 6:38 you brought up that your center of mass was too far forward, why did you extend it outward / extend the arm? Wouldnt that further increase the leverage of the load weight? I would have though that you would want to move it closer to the fulcrum/crane itself or move the counterweight further back to increase the mechanical advantage
Well this certainly gave me a lot more respect for the original image!!
I just heard a professional engineer say it’s fine cause it looks cool 😂
the video of the cranes lifting cranes is actually a business promotion
I love how I watched that video and it eventually ended me up here
You should try again but have the last Crane adjusted for the flex so that when the real tension starts the tip of the crane is directly above the center mass of the smaller crane set
You know he makes very much engineering.
“That looks like the sadest crane ever”
Conspiracy Theory: RCE is just Christopher Nolan in disguise of Brad Pitt making Craneception on youtube for fun.
This video is giving me crane rental ads and I think that’s hilarious lol
Who rentin a crane
Finally some poly bridge again :) :D
nothing like a RCE video at 3:43 in the morning, this is perfectly fine, nothing wrong with this at all
Imagine if this were real life. Millions of dollars of cranes destroyed to get to the final solution but hey it looks awesome and works
Great job. Those cranes are have certainly been erected😂
real would have done the same, go to a computer program and fiddle around to get the final... then some wind would come into it.
larger cranes also have a Lot Longer Back Arm than smaller ones . . . probably for more stability
if RCE added that in maby there might be less bending on his structures
16:35 i suspect its bending due to how rectangle in the wrong direction the crane segments are. most angled struts that cross over work better when all corners are closer to the same angles.
yay poly bridge again these are my favorites

You need to do more of these with different picture

for what purpose? giant crane just short of the hight you need or something?
@@raymondarrington5339 hello

You should've made the wheels gradually bigger though. Good work though lol
This reminds me of that ship shipping ship that ships shipping ships.
imagine an architect that likes this channel and when rce is talking to pabby that architect hears that since he’s watching this video
I wonder how long it took him to realize he forgot to add the last crane to the hydraulic controller
Yes. The vid is nice
More cranes
My dad works for that company that did the crane lifting cranes thing. Liebherr, They do some Crazy publicity stunts to promote their equipment. like an excavator climbing a pole and other stuff. it's pretty wild
Kind of reminds me of the old picture of a crane lifting a car out of a river... Then another, bigger crane lifting the crane... And another, bigger crane again.
I read somewhere that Liebherr actually did thins with their cranes
You could have added extra rear support arms that way you are attaching to the same point as the top.
If multiple cables anchor to the same central anchor, I believe that The cables need to meet at the central anchor point with the same internal angle or else only one cable enhances the rigidity of the structure . I think?
I like when he keeps building bigger superior shapes
Eyyyy good old poly bridge ✌🏽

MORE CRANECEPTION
Finally! Poly Bridge!
Cool to see you try but I work with these 5 days a week there is a few things your missing and also and(obviously) there is things you can't replicate in this game that makes actual big cranes work back pullies by counter weight would stop the bend but great work was fun to watch
you should try 'a world of mine', its your kind of genre but I only know that its on mobile
19:00 its funny you built it without making sure it was reaching over the center of the smaller crane.
Nice timing, when’s the next infra video? There is a secret I found, but I am not going to spoil it….
Hello
There'll be an infra vid this week!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming thanks for the heads up!
i was live there where the crane pic was made in germany at liebherr kundentage
not sure it helps, but if you look how they put their cables along the arm of a giant crane, each cable starts from the tower and is linked to the arm every segment but separately, forming triangles shapes and the very bad force is only at the tip, on the last cable when your cables are parallel to the arm, forming rectangles and sharing the same force all along... you can also use your diamond shaped anchoring with each cable starting from the base of the anchoring to the tip of the next so the flexibility of your "muscles" are annealed at each base... if you think to it, the giant crane design reduces the angle at the base of the arm when yours curves the whole arm all along which gives a worse result at the tip as the angle at the base means a big moves at the tip...
If you can't get a car high enough with one and you have a few extra cranes big brain craneception
Is the hydrolic controller the fat controllers brother 🤔
How about building the Citigroup Building with and without the welding repairs they made? Sort of a cautionary tale of what could have happened?
Is designing a crane a bit like a vertical bridge?
I don't understand why you didn't connect another cable from the counterweight to halfway up the crane, to keep it from bending.
He really ended up drawing a nob holding a nob holding another nob...
I think if you used more cables directly from the side of the biggest crane to the support node it would not bend as much
Liebherr: I’m 9 million parallel universes ahead of you
That's what i call "engineering"!
Maybe more crazy than civil, but still.
more trailmakers please!
RCE, In the last days i didnt like your vids that much. But poly bridge never gets old
0:12 uiiiiii the Liebherr " Kranmobile"
I See this in Real Life ist was very cool
Probably shouldve put bigger wheels or tracks on the bigger cranes aye. Pretty cool tho
I the original video there was little sneaky cables stopping the cranes swinging away from each other
The worst kind of cables...
12:33 That was your biggest clue for the solution to this design with a suspended counterweight, both the crane arm and the counterweight arm were curving outwards (compression) but the cable from the top of each arm stayed true (tension). I'm sure you know where i'm going with this, but think of your design (when in motion) as if it was the letter "V" with the base fixed to a point and a tension cable across the top, now imagine a hydraulic press starts pushing down from the top... Now put a 2nd cable in like this [ V into ∀ ----> from the middle of each arm ] along with the same cable at the top, The area of compression and tension are now both split 2 and makes it 6 times harder to bend the 4 areas of arm between the cables (excluding the weight of gravitational force)
5:27 in orde to do it better put a half rope and connect it to the main boom
Very good
i think it would have been so much easier if you managed the weights and deleted since the smallest one so it barely can do what is suposed to do, because the next one will need more weight to carry the extra weight etc...
Now make a 5th crane that will lift these
14:47 Have you tried the old game "Fantastic Contraption" ?
7:12
Me when I miss the hole
