The moment when Tony Stark talked with Howard Stark in the past in Endgame, proved him wrong about ranting about his father's love in Iron Man 2. Howard did love Tony more than his own discoveries.
And I think the reason Howard was cold with Tony during his childhood was because he already knew SHIELD had been infiltrated by HYDRA. So he was focusing all his efforts on that, sadly to the negligence of his own son.
Dude what. Tony wasn’t even born yet when they met in endgame…
Saying you love something is empty. If your child didn't feel loved then they were not loved. That is the only measure.
His dad works 80 or 100 hours a week and never sees him and you think a throwaway line makes 20 years of that as a"father" ok? No wonder things are so fucked these days.
That goddam mansion could never end a movie in one piece 🤣🤣🤣
That's probably why he moved into a cabin in a middle of nowhere lol
As someone with ADHD I love how Fury has a team literally just to keep Stark at home and finish the project.
Lol, same
"If you attempt to leave, or play any games. I will taze you and watch Super Nanny, while you drool into the carpet." Lol, that cracks me up.
Tony could have countered that very easily.
He could have reached under his shirt and taken out the mini arc reactor, and walked off.
Fury is no different than police.
the funny thing is, in the comics..Tony Stark does NOT create all his tech himself. he uses other peoples' work too. But that usually get glossed over... often to the immense irritation of the other designers.
Interesting! They did sort of address that with mysterio and BARF lol
@@charleshammer7984 yup. and a lot of OTHER people that worked under him. Obediah Stane in the first movie was the business partner Tony never paid attention to until it bit him in the ass....Killian/the false Mandarin in the third movie was another one of his "oopsies" hailing back to his party monster days...and let's not forget Ultron. How he avoided jail time on THAT, i have NO idea.
i mean this scene literally shows he did not make the Arc Reactor tech, it was already made and even (at least partially) stolen from Anton Vanko
@@Pat4ever. But he miniaturized in a cave with a box of scraps!

This is the agent Coulson we grew to love. What they did to him in "what-if" is such a tragedy.
What-if is all fan fiction garbage IHMO. The series ruined so many great characters....I didn't even watch after S1.

I always thought that fury lost his eye in a badass away. But them captain marvel came and ruined everything
So this is basically just the adults version of being grounded.
If only Tony here knew how much his father did care
“He was cold he was calculating he never told he loved me, never even told me he liked me”
Oh tony, if only you knew how wrong you were
Cold, calculating, didn't express love or vulnerability... Sounding a lot like winter soldiers relationship with Tony's parents too 😂. Treating your child like a latchkey kid is a pretty fucking low bar, not sure how y'all miss that.
"If you attempt to leave, or play any games, I will tase you and watch Super Nanny while you drool into the carpet!" I love how Coulson keeps such a straight face as he's explaining Tony's house arrest,
RIP, Tony Stark.
Samuel L. Jackson meets Robert Downey as Tony Stark and Nick Fury
Coulson should've known that Tony Stark will leave his home later on to see Pepper at Star Industries and that he won't be stopped.
"He was cold he was calculating he never told he loved me, never even told me he liked me"
"That kid's not even here yet and there's nothing I wouldn't do for him"
The writing on phase 1-3 marvel complements itself so well... I miss that
I feel like the vank plot is what really needed to be handled better. Fury says that Howard had vankos father deported because he saw the reactor as a way to just get rich? How is that a crime worthy of needing to be deported? Howard was also quite literally still becoming rich based on his weapons manufacturing? Like can anyone explain what Ivan’s father did wrong?
One was greedy for money, one was genuinely wants to help the world
Vankov probably wanted to sell the arc reactor to the Russians.
It isn't a crime.
However, he was likely doing shady shit that was flying under the radar and that got reported.
Howard wanted to use the Arc Reactor to change the world while Vankov wanted to use it to sell to the Russians to make a quick buck without thinking about how others would use it for.
@@taraungoogle8482 Howard had already created many weapons that were used by people to kill others, he was rich because of his weapons not because of his kindness, Tony was going down the same path but he realized that it was wrong, the experience with the terrorists opened his eyes. eyes of the banal life I had
Remember when the mcu didn't suck?
Kind of shocking how good it was, compared to the insipid horrifically bad social engineering shyt coming out from Marvel.

Outstay your welcome and you can kill a genre, not just an IP, for 30 or 40 years.
I remember when the fans were less bitchy.
I wonder if the elements he was trying to create was either Uru or Vibranium?
I doubt it was vibranium. JARVIS says Tony synthesizes a totally new element to stabilize the arc reactor, but vibranium would have been known to exist since at least the 40s with Cap's shield. The odds that neither JARVIS nor Tony knew it existed is next to zero.
If they knew they would be getting the Xmen back they could have made it adamantium. Since the MCU has Tony as one of the originators of the whole super science and super hero thing you could make it work.
My head canon is Tony synthesized vibranium. JARVIS calls it a “totally new element” because Howard didn’t put information about vibranium into any government files or database.
@@lshawn7925 JARVIS would have access to all of Stark Industries' files as well, and considering that Howard worked with vibranium there's no way that it wouldn't be a known thing to JARVIS
@@lshawn7925Everything in Stark Industries Jarvis would get access to or know how to crack, and as far as shield during the avengers movie it only took Jarvis a couple hours to crack Shield's files.
Oh when Marvel made good movies. Shame they now don’t, they lost me at the Eternals.
This is not a particularly good movie. It’s only fondly remembered because Scarlett Johansson’s breasts and ass first make an appearance in it.
And yet they've managed to soldier on. Good for them.
i wanna go back to 2008 😢😢😢😢
Puss In Boots The Last Wish (2022) was insane and hilarious.
well back to begining
Imagine if Tony had been a slightly different person.
You want to just imprison me?
Fine.
I won’t help my captors in any way, and that includes you.
He could have layed around and just munched potato chips all day.
Backfire, Fury.
If Cade Yeager from TF was in the MCU, he and Tony wouldn’t have just been friends, they’d be like brothers-in-arms.
Cade yeager??? Why and what reference are you making
This may be totally wrong, but the way I see it is the Arc Reactor was not one man's idea. It was a collaboration between two geniuses, each of whom had their own idea of how capitalize and distribute it; it's just Vanko's intentions were less noble and more greedy.
And as a result of being deported, Anton indoctrinated his son into thinking the Arc Reactor was entirely his idea and that Howard stole it.
So, at the end of the day, this was a bunch of "he said, she said".
Makes one Wonder how much Obadiah Stane knew. I'm guessing he had no idea about the tesseract, he thought the Arc reactor was just a stunt to pacify the hippies. Howard Stark apparently spent a great deal of time compartmentalizing people, unfortunately that included Tony.
Stane was Howard's partner in making weapons but Howard wanted to change the world and make it better. But Howard was limited by the technology of his time and the knowledge he knew is only about making weapons.
Which is why Howard was tough on Tony, Howard knew that Tony surpassed him at a young age because he knew Tony was the one to change the world in a way Howard couldn't
Some of the best scenes in the entire MCU were Robert and Sam Jackson.
Scarlett was so fucking hot in this movie.
Howard Stark and Anton Vanko who had defected from Soviet Union build the Arc Reactor but they both had different ideas about the technology: Howard wanted to use it to help humanity but Anton wanted to sell it to make tons of money. Anton was convicted of esponiage and was deported back to Russia/USSR. When the Russians/Soviets found out he couldn't develop the technology by himself they banished him to Siberia where he spend the next 2 decades in a vodka- fueled rage against the Starks.
i mean , his children wont even remember their dad gone for a year in the long scale . i feel that was a very weak decision . i get the temptation but if your not hitting a million each , the pain wasnt worth it .
And Cade would’ve became the next Iron Man, after Tony’s death from Endgame.
Uhh uhh Cade who’s Cade

"Play any games & I will taze you & watch Super Nanny while you drool into the carpet."
Reason #6 on why I want to be a therapist: so I can delve into the minds of certain people & learn about every single event that led to them developing genuine euphoric feelings into saying crap like that, thinking it makes them sound tough but comes off as tryhard & sad.....even if they can actually do exactly what they threaten to do.
The MCU has fallen very far since Endgame when you watch simple scenes from Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and The Avengers (2012). The writing, the acting, the characters....literally everything used to be so much better.

tony Stark the movie, showed iron man's father I've seen no kid in every movie they made it confusing when they threw another actor that was never in the first iron man movie
give me money
Such a stupid line about Vanko. According to Fury, Vanko was part of development team and became "bad" because he wanted to be rich (get profit out of invention). So we assume that "good" guy Stark as true american businessman didn`t want anybody to be rich. That`s why he got rid of his patner and owned an invention. Not to mention complete stupidity of "vodka fueled rage" line.
Hard to say. The first arc reactor wasn't even considered cost effective when they built it so it's likely venko wanted to sell this tech to people that would make it into a weapon or he was secretly selling the information to the Russians
I'm guessing the line there about him not being able to deliver to the Russians is meant to imply that he wanted to make money by selling what was considered a state secret to a hostile foreign power, making it more justifiable to explain his deportation and erasure from the project. It's very clunky and poorly written dialog though that makes it seem like he got screwed over by Howard Stark just because he wanted to profit from his own invention.
He was trying to sell the secrets to bad people, so stark pushed him off
