    Thanos was the biggest physical threat, but Zemo destroyed The Avengers. I mean they never recovered after this. This is peak worldbuilding and character development. Again, no worship, but he gets to go back in time and see his dad, but it's different now because a) he's older and is a father himself, and b) after spending decades thinking his father crashed into a tree and killed his mom, he knows the truth of their deaths. 2) Just because Zemo was a bad guy doesn't mean his family were evil or deserved to die. That's a distinction that needs to be made. They shouldn't be guilty by association. That being said, Zemo kinda had the right to feel as he felt.

      Eternals was great. Shang-Chi was amazing. The Marvels was a really fun time that suffered from not being able to tweak dialogue and do reshoots during editting because of the SAG-AFTRA/Writers strike. Loki is next level incredible. She-Hulk was a lovely divergence that stumbled at the end (though I just rewatched it with fresh eyes and it's far better than I remember). What the MCU has right now is a lack of clear direction. There are to many threads, and not enough cohesion. There's still a lot of fun in watching them, it just doesn't have that "headed to the End Game" intensity and interconnectiveness.
      The weakest parts in my opinion were Thor and Dr Strange. Thor was a giant let down that leaned FAR to much into humour that it lacked any kind of emotional depth, and felt like it undid all the growing his character had done. But the Mighty Thor was awesome to see played out on screen, and Christian Bale was amazing but wasn't given enough to really do with it... stoked to see Hercules though. And Dr Strange had it's moments but your eyes had trouble seeing it because they were to busy rolling back into your head with much Raimi Raimi'd all over it.

    We can here see the anger in Tony's face when he saw natasha , the person whom he believed the most had betrayed him in the worst case , the person whom he taught was just like him a normal human among avengers and believed from iron man 2 . Tony lost his entire life in one single day , saw his friend getting paralysed , betrayed by natasha and got to see about his parents murder and got to know reason of his parents death and his friend and father's friend that is Captain knew about it , couldn't kill his parent's killer , avengers broke up , his friend disrespected his father's creation which is the shield which tony respected .

      The biggest issue was that, while Cap knew that The Winter Soldier killed Tony's parents, he also knew that Bucky was innocent of it and was as much a victim as Tony's parents, if not more so. Tony didn't care that Bucky was an innocent, his desire for vengeance was his only thought, even after calming down at the end and realizing that Cap was right, to not blame Bucky but to blame Hydra but Tony's biggest flaw is that he has to be always right. Cap didn't disrespect the shield, he was true to who he was, unyielding in his belief that to do what's right is harder than doing what's easy, something that he was doing well before he was given the Super Solider serum.

    I think something that's commonly skimmed over in this scene is Natasha's ego. Tony has a big ego and everyone knows that. However, Rhodey is confirmed likely paralyzed. He didn't want this fight to begin with. Note that Tony is quite controlled around Vision. I believe this is because Vision is remorseful and concerned about Rhodey. Vision is the one who fired the shot and Tony is able to set that aside because he didn't intend to hurt Rhodey. He just asks how it happened because he can't fathom how this disaster occurred. He doesn't lay into Vision who is just as confused about the situation.
    Contrast this with Natasha. She looks at him. She doesn't look at Rhodey. Tony is angry but remains controlled here, leaving the area and fills her in on the details about Rhodey. She pays basically zero time or concern about this and instead tries to use it to tell him that he's wrong. He calls her out on backstabbing. She shows no concern for Rhodey as a person, no shame for the trust broken despite it being brought up in about the most civil way possible. She makes no effort to account for Tony's clearly distressed mental state nor his ego and has the gall to respond his his rather soft for him accusation with completely ignoring it and trying to spread the blame between both of them. He clearly is angry at this point but responds with sarcastic comedy which in this situation is pretty controlled for him. Then she goes on to lecture him about his ego. Again, Tony follows with a fairly controlled matter of fact response. Then she tells him that she's not the one that needs to watch their back which is rich coming from the person who just stabbed him in the back.
    Tony is not perfect here. He's made quite a few mistakes leading up to this. However, he tried to make peace with Steve before. They were just unwilling to compromise. Here, I'd say that Tony is definitely the more mature person in the room. Tony is under significantly more emotional stress and is known to have a big ego yet keeps it in check and the moment he's given new information he takes it and makes use of it with no hesitation despite the fact that it contradicts his previous position. Meanwhile, Natasha makes no effort to understand him, shrugs off the civility he shows her, takes no responsibility for her backstabbing in a literal sense, makes no effort to give Tony some extra latitude or understanding based on the fact that from his perspective that she just backstabbed him, and only proceeds to try to lecture an egotist into agreeing with her. And then she gives up. Man, for being someone who is supposed to be good with people, she basically threw all that out the window and grew an ego that probably exceeds Tony's at his highest points given that she's behaving this way with a friend. That is about the worst recipe for convincing anyone in general, much less an egotist that's currently hurting and not the way I'd handle any friend of mine. Heck, I wouldn't handle someone I disliked this way.
    Tony was more controlled and understanding in this situation that we'd normally ever expect him to be and all Natasha had to do was not speedrun trashing the relationship they had left. Heck, even if she'd done it slower and wasn't as much of a prick about it, Tony would have gotten the update and they'd have been off to the races. She basically handled this as badly as was possible short of literally stabbing him in the back again.

    • @bautistalover
      @bautistalover Před 4 dny

      What compromise was there to be had? Tony only agreed to the accords to assuage his own guilt about that kid that died. Nothing about what they proposed in that accord was for the “good” of the people it was about control. How did “this” happen, it happened because of Tony’s guilt and his need to go solo dolo. Had he taken the moment to talk to the rest of the team about his fears and why he thought Ultron was a good idea there may have been a different outcome and Sokovia wouldn’t have gone for a ride. Tony asked a question and Natasha answered it. His ego is why they are standing there. She didn’t stab Tony in the back, she was doing her job as an avenger protecting the innocent which is what Bucky was. No one accept Natasha and Sam listened to Steve when he said it. She wasn’t wrong Tony is the one who needs to watch his back the people he was getting into bed with would throw him under the bus to save themselves.

    • @NevarKanzaki
      @NevarKanzaki Před 3 dny +1

       @bautistalover Tony and Steve were at an impasse regarding the accords. That's unquestioned. Tony's reasoning of course is emotionally driven. I'm not saying I agree with it because I don't. However, that has nothing to do with my point which is that in this situation, Natasha has proceeded to lose all of her social skills and speedruns ruining any chance at a dialogue. And there was a chance at a dialogue, proven by the fact that while Tony still disagrees with Steve, they do agree that the innocent should be saved. As we see right after, the moment Tony is given tangible evidence that Bucky was framed, he does a 180 and goes about trying to help, regardless of Ross's position on the matter and how it would leave him standing given the accords.
      So yes, Tony makes no shortage of mistakes. No one's arguing that he doesn't. What I'm saying is that in this situation, Natasha makes just about every wrong move possible. So let's move onto the backstabbing thing. She either went to the airport on Tony's side or came there under the pretense of being so. Steve tells them his suspect. Tony believes that Steve's judgment is biased atm due to the party in question. Tony is of course incorrect in hindsight here but this is congruent to his character, someone who believes in tangible evidence more than he believes in people. Natasha tries to convince Steve to work it out and not be forceful about it. However, Tony feels pressed for time and off to blows they go. So again Tony is wrong at the airport but that's not what I was discussing and Natasha clearly states what her supposed position is. She saw no proof in between, only that Steve was willing to punch it out. So I'd say that her doing a 180 absolutely qualifies as a backstab. You can try to justify it and she does have some reasons but it is still a backstab.
      While I maintain that it was a backstab, whether it actually was or not isn't all that relevant. I said that from TONY's perspective, it is a backstab which he openly states and Natasha being good at reading people should know. When she talks with him, she displays none of her usual skill in reading people, instead managing an unusual role reversal where Tony is extremely self restrained for being himself and she's just being a jerk throughout the entire post airport interaction. She doesn't treat him like her hot headed, emotionally unstable friend who is grieving for his friend who is now paralyzed indirectly because of something she did. She treats him like a person who she has no intention of trying to mend things with nor a person who she might be trying to convince of Steve's position concerning Bucky. If she was going to do a good job of that, she'd be trying to be more tactful in their talk. What happened was the opposite of being tactful, worse than I'd treat a person in that situation that I actively disliked because I generally give grieving people a degree of latitude. This has nothing to do with who's right and who's wrong ideologically, just that she was dumb and rude while Tony was probably the most restrained and mature that he's ever been during the entire series.

    This movie shows that even when Nat and Clint are apart, they still are on the same wavelength. They both make allusions to Stark being the cause of Rhodey’s injuries. Nat says “I’m not the one who needs to watch their back”. You can hear the venom in her words when she says it. Tony looks back in shock that she just twisted the knife (because his ego wouldn’t let him believe that someone would fire back after he went in on her about her past) When Stark visits the Raft, Clint similarly says “Watch your back around this guy. He just might break it”.

The subsequent movies just really lacked any runtime to work more of a relationship between them in. But it does seem like they would have fought together very fluidly, with Tony’s experience with Jarvis in battle. Sad. And just as sad for Vision to have gotten completely wiped out of the MCU. Fracturing L4-S1 wouldn't injure the spinal cord as there is no cord to injure there. The cord terminates around the level L1 in adults. At most he would injure the nerve roots which would lead to lower leg weakness or paralysis but his hip flexors and knee extensors would remain intact.

    I actually think Natasha is wrong for blaming Tony like that and totally out of pocket. To me she seems "compromised" for believing the manipulative personality profile she wrote on him after Iron Man 2 herself, which kinda looks like her ego is the one too big here to see the bigger picture.
    They are acting like Tony invited T. Ross personally to overlook the Accords and screw them over.
    Tony has proven that he not only despises Ross but also doesn't like the government screwing with his stuff (like Iron Man 2)
    But that was in regards to his personal owned technology/his armor.
    He has to abide by the governments rules at least to some extent, not only because it's the UN and 117 countries but he still owns a multi-billion dollar company with hundreds of thousands, if not millions of employees.
    He is not flying solo anymore.
    They are a team and a team needs oversight. Every country has laws citicens have to follow. And guess what - laws can be changed as they are updated to this day, so even if there were points that the team disagreed on - it wasn't a freaking set in stone. And it was pretty obvious that Ross was corrupt.
    If the team had acted like a team and not betrayed each other (like Nat clearly did, and Steve did aswell because neither of them both told Tony about the Winter Soldier murdering his parents, even though knowing about it for sevral years)
    And it kind of bothers me that Tony is made responsible for every inconvenience like he is some omnipotent being.
    No doubt Tony has a massive ego, he is not perfect. Non of them are.
    But no one can tell me Nat doesn't have a massive ego herself. Sorry not sorry but she is a master spy and manipulator and should have realized that Steve did a lot of strategically bad moves and was acting completely emotional.
    I will never be mad at Tony for acting emotional in the bunker. He only lashed out after finding out Steve had lied.
    Tony sat on that trauma of believing Howard was drunk driving killing his Mom for decades. If he truly wanted to kill Bucky (or Steve) he could have painted the walls of that bunker with them, with literally one command in his suit.

    This movie made me chuckle, it was silly. It was a bunch of adults acting like children and having themselves a little fight knowing very well that they didn't want to kill each other, but the moment someone got hurt everyone acted like it wasn't supposed to happen meanwhile they were literally trying to beat each other to a pulp, but at the same time trying not to hurt each other? It's almost like an example of everyone's having a good time until someone loses an eye. If nearly anyone on that Avengers team got injured they would all be upset and sad, yet they still act surprised after they just got done trying to whip each other's ass. It's just silly. Then again The Avengers movies became a little silly after the first two, especially the last one where we had the directors pandering to the female audience with an all-female Avengers team attacking Thanos, one of which included mantis which has no fighting ability other than lightly kicking people and controlling their thoughts.

    The first Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Civil War and the first Avengers are most likely the best movies in the entire MCU franchise. They go far beyond being mindless Hollywood action movies, they show real character development, their action scenes are amazing and the effects still hold up (considering that the first Iron Man came out about 16 years ago).

    Im wonna be honest, looking back now for TONY to realize at this point that it might be more info to look for is WAAAY more dumb to stop fighting than the Martha scene man, or is it that marvel is doing so bad now that even re watching good movies i found narrative incoherence? Same with Tony letting Nat leave when she screw it so bad. Doesnt make any sense

    • @JurgenBlitz
      @JurgenBlitz Před 4 měsíci +2

      No, I'm with you there. The Martha moment has been memed to death, but this is way dumber. Tony not only gets EVIDENCE that Bucky was brainwashed and framed, but minutes before their final fight, he also KNOWS that Zemo is trying to pit them against each other. And yet, because the movie needs the fight, a man who is otherwise one of the smartest men alive becomes an absolute idiot.

      Um, what are you going with this?
      "Im wonna be honest, looking back now for TONY to realize at this point that it might be more info to look for is WAAAY more dumb to stop fighting than the Martha scene"
      Please fix your grammar here. I can't understand one bit of this when I'm first reading it.
      Trying to fix it, I think what you're saying is that Tony to stop fighting when he got more information to look for is a dumb decision. Excuse me, but he just learned that Barnes has been set up. Cap and Barnes were on their way to uncover that since that's their objective. Tony wants to apprehend that person who set Barnes up so he went with them.
      Batman's reason in fighting Superman is dumb and not well-thought anyways. That's dumber for me. The World's Greatest Detective and somehow didn't figure out someone is orchestrating to make them fight? Also, Supes is shown to help human kind, why the heck is he gonna try and kill him?

      @@pinknaccount2188 mmm dude, the previous guy got it right away and explained even better. Im just meaning that in terms of coherence, the fact that Tony didnt realize that it might be something behind bucky AFTER the fight, and stoping the civil war against cap is way more forced than Martha scene. And a little correction, batman always knew that Clark was good, the problem is that the potential threat if going to the dark side is so big that even if there were some scam underneath, it still didnt change the fact that he has to die for precaution

    • @silenthero2795
      @silenthero2795 Před 4 měsíci

      Tony is more bitter about Steve withholding secrets from him especially concerning his parents. While Tony knew that Bucky was being framed, Steve won't let the guy go. As for Nat, Tony has been very loose in his actions where he wouldn't do it until he was actually ordered to. Nat is still technically on their side until Ross say otherwise. The Sokovia Accords will still divide them even if they didn't fight here so its not like they're already friends unlike in BvS where all of their differences where setttled just because their moms have the same name.
