They did Maria Hill so dirty in Secret Invasion... 😢
It was an unceremonious ending to one of THE BEST characters in the MCU.
I consider that show non-canon. Or a sequel to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D if that's not canon. There is no way Secret Invasion happened before The Marvels.

When nick said "I wasn't sure who to trust" and Natasha looks sad that even after all those years, Nick doesn't fully trust Natasha
Not surprising to me. In Civil war she was on Team Iron Man and then switched sides at the last second and after chastising Tony for not following orders all the time when he calls her out for her betrayal she just scoffs at him like he was in the wrong, but when she does it then it's okay. Black Widow cannot be trusted completely because at the end of the day, even though i do like her, the only side that she is on is her own and the director probably knows that all too well.
It cuts both ways. Fury didn't tell Natasha about the actual the risks and actual intentions of him in an earlier mission in same movie.
He didn't trust Steve either.
With Hydra, you can never really know who's been brainwashed.
@@kibaunocoz she doesn't want to side with anyone, she treated Tony Steve and the rest of the avengers as her family that's why when things got too far in Civil War, she let both teams go their way

She dies at the end of Secret Invasion episode 1. It was very anticlimactic and a waste of a character. I haven’t even finished the show. Kinda stopped watching after that. I heard the rest if the show wasn’t much better.

Maria Hill is one of the mostly tactical and useful member of Shield and the Avengers but sadly MCU made her character exit so sad and helpless.

Dick Grayson's mom died during an acrobatic stunt gone wrong in which Grayson also performed (he met his mother). Jason Todd's mother perished at the hands of Joker. Todd attempted to protect her and died as well (he met his mother). The brutalization of Drake's mother is why he became Robin (he met his mother). And, Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul's son, was raised by Talia to become the leader of the League of Assassins before Talia left him with Wayne (he met his mother).
REALLY hard to believe THIS character got killed in Secret Invasion the way she did. She knew all about Skrulls, knew they were chasing Skrulls and knew Skrulls could imitate Fury in particular ... and STILL got taken by surprise?
Everytime she appears in the MCU I expect someone to say "And that is how I met your mother"
This movie.., to this very day, is the best story telling Marvel has ever done.
This is the Mariah Hill and Nick Fury I want to remember. Didn't matter that Nick was a person of color and Mariah was a woman. They were strong and had to be ruined to make the new ones look better.

I love Maria Hill, they really did her dirty in Secret Invasion. I hope it wasn't canon.
This is what I miss about the MCU. The realistic tension, the powerful lines, less of magic and whatever out of this world powers. When they started putting it into the multiverse, everything became cringy.
Maria Hill got the "The Warriors Three" treatment it's horrible.

Those "laser cutters" never really made much sense... like ok, you cut through the car, ok you cut through the concrete.... where does it go? Did Fury just cut his way through the sewers earlier in the movie... because that's a lot of magically disappeared concrete... Or do I just not know how close sewers are to the surface. (I'm not American lol). I LOVE this movie! It's fucking amazing... but that always bugged me XD
Yeah, maybe the writers should have thought of that. Cutting through the armored car and whatever damn else right after the caravan stopped? And they had less than a minute to do it? 🤔

It would have made more sense for Maria to call in a quinjet after knocking the one guy our, grappled the whole freaking truck in seconds, and flown away with our heroes. And what's the driver going to do? Maybe open the door and fallen to his death! 😁

How many times I've watched Winter Soldier? It took until this last time that I realized the Dr. in this scene also appears in Steve's group therapy session at the beginning of End Game. We always keep coming back for more. BTW this Dr. is played by Joe Russo, as in the Russo brothers.
He's also in Civil War. Playing another doctor.

Just like I finally realized who Happy aka Jon Favreau was and that he also played D-Bob in Rudy. And I never knew till I saw his real name pooping up as one of the producers/director….Wow he’s come a long way since Rudy.

Cobie Smulders is the real Black Widow. Right this egregious wrong Marvel. Scarlett Johansson is way too tiny and short to be an Avenger. So is Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Way too short. Just like Tom Cruise as 6’5” Jack Reacher. Come on already.
Seriously, they're not treating the canon/official Maria Hill in the comics much better than they did with that stupid-ass Secret Invasion. (Comic book Maria isn't dead, she just hasn't been used much!) And here we're told that Marvel and the MCU are soooo inclusive. Bull.
I liked Maria as much as any fan did since Avengers. It's a damn waste what happened, but she won't be forgotten! 🫡
