I loved all the "di-ecks" .
Haha
Mid way through the video I was getting pissed off lmao
This is the next level of editing! Not to mention how informative it was! Good job Daniel and thank you :)
straight up. fucking awesome editing.
I'm searching for a Video Wowgo 3X vs Exway flex riot for weeks and now you just uploaded one. Thank GOD
Exway Trist trucks are 45°, not 50°! Sorry, messed up there! ⹠If you're interested in any of these boards, I have discount info in the video description.
I was convinced you were going to feature Ownboard here, are they out the window?
Would you recommend the Zealot for a 82kg rider? Will it ber too flexy so it touches the ground or is it ok?
Carl Whinnery Compared to these three the Ownboard W2 is kind of ugly, and the acceleration and brakes arenât as strong. Still a good board tho.
Haroon Jamil Your weight is fine for this board.
For the Exway flex, Iâm a size 13 US, would the board not really fit me too well? It seems like my heel would almost be hanging off or so on the wheel well flares? The deck seems so narrow, just wondering what you think?
I've been learning a lot more about the time and effort it takes to edit videos. Starting to appreciate your videos a lot more. QUALITY
You make such incredible polished videos. I love these. Thanks for the in depth reviews.
Great video, you and Ronnie really making moves on YT.
I love how you're having fun with different intros
Finally! What we have all been waiting for during this quarantine! Thank you dKwan!
Awesome review! A really informative and well constructed video, great to watch!
Happy I found your page, I'm learning so much!
Love the vid very professional and informative. Can't believe you only have sub 20k subscribers. Keep up the content!
I love your videos, itâs obvious you put a lot of time making/editing, etc. thanks!đ
Finally!!! I've been waiting for this quality & informative comparison of Exway Flex and its fair competitors. Thanks Daniel Kwan! Time to buy the Flex đđ»
did you buy the flex? how long was shipping and how was the experience? are you satsfied? thanks
thank you for this awesome review. I loved the editing. you deserve a lot more likes/views/subscriptions & you will get there! stoked to have ordered my first ever eBoard last week & I went with the Zealot! CANT WAIT!
how is it??
This is the exact video I've been searching for! Thanks for making this.
Also, can you make a Exway X1 Pro vs Flex video comparison? Thanks.
Battery life accuracy is a huge deal. My backfire remote told me I had 2 out of 5 bars of battery left, and it just died on me on my way back home. Now I just keep it charged because I don't trust the battery indicator.
your videos are mad bro keep up the good workđđœ
I am now hooked on this channel
you are a unique soul and great video maker
cheers !!!
This is an amazing vid the editing is sick and u just convinced me to buy a backfire zealot
I just got my zealot and itâs amazing. Great choice dude, I definitely think itâs the best out of the three
Hey Daniel, thanks for the reviews! Iâd love to see a review that compares the performance between these three a little more directly. Even though acceleration, speed, braking, uphill performance, etc. are all comparable as you said, would still be nice to see the boards to head-to-head in those performance categories.
Itâs like buying a car - will anyone actually notice that a BMW does 0-60 .2s faster than a Mercedes? Probably not. But do we want to see them drag race and know the times? Hell yeah.
Videos are getting better and better. Happy esk8ing guys
Thanks for telling me about all these amazing decks
Thank you, Daniel! This is exactly the video I was waiting for, a month ago. Finally, we get a comparison & perspective on these boards from an Eskate expert. At the end of March, I was trying to decide between the Backfire Zealot & Exway Flex, a hard decision but thought the Flex was a little more polished + love the variety of wheels, 120mm cloud wheels + the ability for software updates. So pulled the trigger on the Flex-Riot pre-order in April for my first E-board.
Is the board good, because I am also interested in buying a e-board
@@luculucu879 I have really been enjoying the Flex-Riot thus far, plenty of speed & Torque. The board is a few inches shorter in length than the Zealot and weighs less so it is a little easier to carry around at the end of your ride. The board carves nicely, love the concave that helps with carving and foot placement. My usual carve speed is between 15-20mph and got up to 28 in Central Park, but I think once you get near 30mph it is a little sketchy. I have had no issues, no problems with the board, rides like a champ :-) so far.
@@christopheradeler Hey, hows the board holding up after a year?
@@ammarfatehi9707 My Exway Flex đȘ Riot after 700 miles is holding up very well đ My board is working flawlessly, I still get about the same range very little battery degradation. I am loving it!
The speed has dropped a little, max speed now on a flat straight is between 24-26 mph, before I could get 27+ downhill was hitting over 30mph. I had to change the belts, and get Pebbles out of wheels & belt gaurd but thatâs about it.
@@ammarfatehi9707 I did have to change the belts though. One of my original belts flew off at max speed about 26mph, board started swerving sideways, not sure how I managed to not fly off. I have Momentumâs belts now, should hold up well.
Always a pleasure to see your explications, nice description, thank
Thank you for focusing trucks, aesthetics, and customer service 'cause not enough CZcamsrs do
The Video that i was waiting for
*Exway* : Fine tunable board for you're needs
*Wowgo* : best carving commuter for cities
*Backfire* : speed demons living on the edge
When he says âDeckâ, I just get Paul Rudd in Wanderlust đ - awesome video your my guy thanks for all your reviews
THANKK YOUUU. Definitely buying one for college.
Very helpful review thanks!
Dude, your videos đłđ„đ„đ„
interesting video your video quality increases with every video!
That intro, Hooked!
Mmmmh Backfire boards
Awesome stuff! Great info
Great and relevant review, glad you did not start your favorite. One thing about range is that hills is what killes batteries, you if you have no steep and long hills you will get the numbers you state.
Okay, sorry for the dumb question as I'm a total 40+ year old e-board noob... but I've been eyeballing the Backfire Zealot and it's obviously belt driven. I don't see replacement belts on their site? I'm also looking at the Meepo NLS Pro. Undecided at this point. Help!
Very nice comparison!
Never skated a day in my life. This video made it really easy to choose the right board for me.I bought the Zealot. Thanks for the video and discount code!
How hard was it for u without ever skating for the first time on ur boatd
@@bids2895 it was pretty easy.i started off with the slowest setting and cruised around for a few days to get the hang of it and went to sport mode from there.
@@cminbust6 fair enough u still use it or does it get boring after a while
Hey mate, im 2 years in the future and wanting to get the zealot too! What are you thoughts on it now?
Just ordered the exway flex, great video..
Is the board good, because I am also interested in buying a e-board
I somehow managed to find a brand new boosted mini x with blue caguamas on it for only 600 on facebook about a week before boosted went out of business. Needless to say, Iv'e been riding it 24/7 and I'm very happy with the purchase so far
Wow. Your videos are really informative. đ€Ż I just decided to go for BackFire for my first board. Now I am stuck between G3 and Zealot. Only thing that is making me confused which one to pick is because of the belts being exposed.
Get the Zelaot. More range more wheel options for comfort and better brakes.
Would love to see this comparison with the current gen boards. Voyer X vs. Flex Pro vs. Zealot S. Those boards are such a leap from the originals that I think it would be super helpful.
I ordered a Flex Riot. Wheel options were a big seller for me and the smart battery. I won some wheels from your last give away so been wanting to try them out. As far as the shorter deck goes I think it will be fine for me clocking in at 5â1â đ
Haha yay finally!
I highly suggest Torqueboard's 110mm 74a blue wheels and a kegel core pulley from Exway. Some of the nicest wheels I've even ridden
@@langcheng5443 or the 100mm Boas, those things are great
Exway will soon be available in the U.K. with U.K. support. Great review!
Hey Daniel, according to Exway, the Flex bulk production has fixed the motor wires issue by increasing the riser pad thickness as well as a higher PU bushings! :)
Oh ok good to know
Great vid dkwan. I have the nls pro. But now I realize hub motors are not nearly as good as belt drive. If I could go back I would definitely get the wowgo. I love carving, and don't even go over 20 mph.
hub not nearly as good as belt drive? I am deciding between the g3 for 600 or the zealot with bamboo deck for 650. Don't belt drives make a lot of noise? Is it the torque that is so much better?
I love my WowGo 3x. Next up for me is the Meepo 4WD Pro.
i was considering buying one do you think its the best ? whats the best and worst about it? do you need to buy any extras with it ?
Nice review. i have the wowgo 3x Im debating on the zelot or flex but now Im leaning towards more power like an Evolve or the new Wowgo AT2. decisions. btw, i kow your favorite is EXway.
Great Video Daniel* , Thank~You!! Wow, more food for thought... haha.. I am so near to ordering the Exway Flex. Been trying to decide between the Hub & the Riot, as my starting option, to get me going as a new eskater, and new skater, as it's been years since I rode as a kid. Really like the sound of the carving of the Wowgo, and the slightly longer flatter board. However, feels like there is more scope and options with the Flex. Hopefully my feet will be happy on the slightly shorter board, with the angles and cuves. I am around the same weight, between 69/70 kilo depending on training days : ) Big Thanks!!
Loved the video. Just made me more anxious while Im waiting on my Flex lol
Same ! Still waiting so badly..
Same! Tha Truth đ”
Same and still watching reviews. Exway is still the best the firmware updates are a no-brainer
Thanks Daniel for the great videos, Very informative! Only wish I wouldâve seen them before I bought the Evolve GTR LOL! I bought the Ownboard carbon GT based on your review! Bought both before I heard about the Atlas. Do you any idea when the X Way wave might be available? Thank you again for production Quality!
Thanks for the review. I would like to add and stress the importance of after sales support for anyone considering these boards. I recently bought the Exway flex and there seems to be an issue with other buyers where the board throws a bms error and drops the battery % to 0 (a quick search online will provide hits). Iâve reached out to Exway support since the board is under warranty and have not had a good experience with them troubleshooting my issue. Since I have lost complete confidence in the board I have gone ahead and purchased the Zealot which should be arriving in a few weeks. From all other reviews and comments online I feel that going with Backfire to begin with would have been the best option due to their support. Once again thanks for the review and for the discount codes.
How was your experience with backfire if you donât mind me asking?
@@AbdullahKhan-se1xz I have not had the chance to work with Backfire support as my Zealot has had no issues since I got it last year. At the time of purchase there were no boards in stock in the US so I had to wait a few months but it was worth the wait. The board is great and I have full confidence in it which makes the riding experience so much better than the Flex Hub.
If you're interested here is an old video of a test ride on the Zealot. czcams.com/video/_X-lGPIldwg/video.html
The Zealot has a bigger battery so I get much more range, battery sag happens much quicker on the Flex (especially now that they have a reduced battery shipping with the newer models) and I actually prefer the torque and sound of the belt drive (Flex does have the Riot but online forums also mention similar issues that I saw on my Flex Hub). Bikers can hear me passing on the road/trails. If you want more range and a stiffer board they also have the Zealot S.
lmao. epic intro. you're the effin man
Just ordered the zealot with air shipping came out to $794 with your discount code! Super Freaking stoked!! hopefully it comes in the time it says (2 weeks)đđœđđœ
Danny Liu i ended up canceling my order they kept telling me one more week. it ended up being pointless for fast shipping
Want same video for hub motor ! It would be much appreciated ! Nd by the way love ur videos always on point
Cool intro and good info.
I'm going with the g3 to compliment my meepo mini. Soo much value at that price point. Either that or the zealot if it becomes available soon...not springing for the S.
The Backfire can take Cloud wheels as well and I believe they made a set of wheels in partnership with Cloudwheel for 105 mms.
But can they fit the 120mm size cloudwheels without hitting the deck when carving ?
just ordered an exway flex!!
I hope Exway sponsors another road trip. I'm enjoying the road trip videos to Thailand and China right now.
Stan I think it was Backfire.
Yessss this was what I was looking for to decide
the fact that he says dieck every time drives me up the wall XD
Finally decided on a Flex after lots of deliberating, thanks for the discounts Daniel
did you regret it?? thinking about going with flex
I'm 235lbs longtime snowboarder surfer and skateboarder.out of these 3.which best fits me??? Just want to cruise my boardwalk and carve
I am a lifelong skater, surfer, snowboard. I am about 275-280 pounds. Which of the boards you have tested are best for large riders? I like the backfire but am afraid I may bottom it out.
Awesome video, great work and lessons learned to make the best purchase decision. If I may suggest something for the future, a video about fine tuning the Exway Flex via its app would be greatly appreciated.
Please like this comment if you love the idea and to help Daniel. All the best.
tomando nota para hacer mejores reviews ehh xD
Daniel kwan which one did you like the best? Im debating on which one to buy, im 140 lbs and live in Los Angeles.
Good video. I was speaking with a few people about my Flex and the wires I am running 93a double barrel in the back. I donât have any issues. But like you said lower durometers may be problematic. I canât wait to learn more about the Zelaot. Itâs stuck in customsđđđ Pray for me.
I tried the final bushings recently. Theyâre quite hard for me with the precision washers. I have to really throw my weight to carve on them, which can be fun too but I donât wanna do that all the time. Maybe theyâll be just right with flat washers.
Oh and good luck with customs. đ Look forward to your thoughts on zealot
Daniel Kwan those rear bushings on the Zealot seem rigid I was going to change them when I got the board but may not need to. We will see. Stay safeđȘ
I guess that even with a softer durometer, Exways deck guards should be enough of a solution and with their price, it seems like a no brainer.
@@DanielKwan Are there big difference with the washers? I'm wondering if i need to buy some with my flex
Do you know if you can purchase the Exway with their Cloudwheels or are they an add-on? I believe Backfire was going to make offer the Cloudwheel set-up. Thanks (poor road quality in Salt Lake City )
At first the "dieck" annoyed me, then I got it. lmao
Anyways, bought a Zealot! Let's see if I get the stickers or the board first haha
Is the board good, because I am also interested in buying a e-board
@@luculucu879 some tips: look at warranty length. Most are 6-1yr unless you buy evolve or higher end.. The extra 6 months is worth an extra $50-100. DONT GET HUB MOTORS. Get all 4 wheels as legit wheels, not 2 motors with sleeves and 2 wheels. Not comfy. Not actually cost effective. Makes the ride lame AF Imo.
@@morsumbra9692 wtf you on, hub makes less noise, requires less maintenance and the board can free roll. You can kick to extend range and also ride if your battery dies or overheats. A slightly more bumpy ride is a small trade off.
@@billss889 its noticeable more bumpy, they also don't have the option of different gear ratios and a lot of other wheels like the cloud wheels, if you have an 13+ mile range you probably wont be kicking, and maintenance shouldn't be a concern because there isn't much for electric skateboards to begin with.
@@Jan-gj8bm I'm going with the belts despite less waterproofness. Probably going with the flex :) next month, very excited for my late Christmqs gift to myself :))
Excellent video
Still the best reviews! Also....di-eck.
at about 20 000 km on the wowgo mini. most practical board of them all
Yessir another banger
Have you tried out the Boa wheels? I've been thinking about either getting the Boa Hatchlings or blue caguamas for a softer ride on my x1 pro riot
"loaded tesseract" backwards at the very end
Can they make a video about where you let the boards compete in the race? You know, like speed and acceleration and stuff
Absolutely love your content man!!!!! :) but wow your adds though lol jus saying...
Thank you!
yo wtf ?! xD the ending
Daniel, I just used your affiliate code to buy cloudwheeles so thank you! I was wondering if I could swap my Zealot wheeles for Wowgo wheels? Will the belts need to be changed or will it fit?
I believe Backfire and WowGo wheels both use Abec clone cores so you should be able to swap them without changing anything else.
Great video, as always. Will we see a dedicated Zealot review still?
Mason Crouse Yup but maybe a month or so later
Daniel Kwan đ
Ex-Flex is the best bcs of the smart battery .... the only problem I have with eboards is that I always break battery bcs I literally don't care when I don't use it.. (winter times) ... also is in the middle of everything else which means the best for me... thx Dan
Hi Daniel - You mentioned you rode the final production (92 duro) bushings. I'm roughly the same weight as you and am waiting for my Flex to arrive. Would you recommend switching to 90A (e.g., Riptide APS) and using quarter inch risers?
Possibly, but I think you should try the stock bushings first. They feel really hard to me but it may be because one of the bushing holes isnât centered so the bushing is always compressed when installed. Also I have the precision washers installed, and they were really difficult to put on the final bushings so I didnât bother to try taking them off. Should feel less stiff with flat washers instead. Anyway I suggest trying stock first and then change if necessary.
I donât know if this is true or not but people say that on the exway the motor starts to overheat when itâs at 50% battery
Is this true?
Already know what board I'm buying but I can't stop watching your videos! Quick question; can you power off the board on the Exway Flex mid-ride? It be nice to go switch between on and off while I'm riding.
I think youâll feel a slight jerk if you do that, if I remember correctly. Doing that doesnât save much power tho, if thatâs why you want to do it.
@@DanielKwan Thank you! I honestly like the exercise/experience that comes with riding a longboard, so I wanted one that would work well with the motor off or on. While unfortunate I can't turn it on mid-ride, I'm still convinced the Exway Flex is the board I'm looking for. You can't beat software updates!
Howâs the noise/sound from the 3 boards? How would you rank them?
FYI Exway have partnered with slick revelution in the UK to off service support.
Can all these boards use the cloud wheels ? And if yes what board comes with the hubs for the cloud wheels ? Thanks
Just went for the exway myself
im new and i like the idea of having a headlights but the exway flex seems better as it can update firmware with a phone. is there any chance I can put a headlight on exway flex?
Buying a board this Thursday still having trouble deciding
I feel like there should be another category. "Cost of Maintenance". A lot of people are looking into budget boards because.. they are on a budget. The remote is easily loseable, the wheels can easily get chips and cuts if you go through a rough terrain a couple of times or have the luck to run over broken glass like i once did, the belts need changing, the motors might fail.. These things go for a lot of money and are relatively common to replace, but given their high price, it might mean that some people have to stop using their board for a month or two, just to be able to afford a spare controller, which might cost like.. 100$ which is a lot.
I love how u say "deck", DYECK
How does the editing level up every video? I thought the brand name supercut was sick last time but you one up your own stuff
Hey Daniel great videos! I ended up going with the Exway Flex!!! Will hopefully be here before the snow haha. Do you know if the Backfire G3 hub sleeves will fit on the Flex hub? Thanks!
They should fit but double check with backfire, in case anythingâs changed
Daniel Kwan will do, and thanks for replying so quickly. Happy shredding.
Nice Video thanks, the main reason I won't go for Backfire is that they charge 100USD more to ship to Canada :(
Hello, I live in Montreal, I want to buy one but I don't know how long it will take to get to Canada. What was your choice?
Can you use the exway kegel pulleys on the backfire? Their belts should be very similar
Nice comparison btw, just ordered my backfire zealot last week and hope it arrives soon (:
Possibly. Probably. Iâll try when I get a chance.
