This Lure comes in Clutch in Winter! Pond Bassing!

In the winter time the jerkbait can come in clutch to catch those lethargic winter bass. In this episode I fish a small pond for bass using the jerkbait. The jerkbait is a versatile lure that catches fish year round even when the water temperatures are near freezing. In the winter fish the jerkbait with short twitches and long pauses. Bass will not chase your lure in the winter, but can still get a reaction strike if you fish it slow.

I always catch fish when I'm distracted - just like you were as you were talking to the camera and stopped reeling. I assume it's that extra long delay that the fish like to strike.

Yeah for fishing with the jerkbait most of the time in winter you will get a bite during that pause in movement. In summer that can change cuz fish will actively chase lures, but not in the winter.
