Superb video Kris !! Keep it up !
Iceland!!! Yes! Can’t wait
Great stuff🙏👊
Roadtrip around Iceland with a CT sounds amazing, but maybe also with a touch of range anxiety 🤣
It’s an epic trip, one of the worlds best. I think the right foot may need some to light, but Iceland might have more chargers now. It’s gonna fun either way 👍
You guys live in countries with epic views from the roads. It’s crazy.
Chris, great to watch your videos. I’m seriously considering 4 or 4S CT. How do you see range extension during spring months? I drive Tesla Model 3 performance, and I see significant extension on range from April. Do you plan to retest your 4CT in warm weather conditions?
At 9:00 you talk about changing the drive mode while charging. I just want to give a warning to owners of this vehicle that switching to sport plus or to range mode will cause the vehicle to lower and if you are parked in such a way that your front lip is hanging over a wheel stop it may be a problem.
What a good sport to do it again!
Enjoyed the video Kris. Any plans to do a test on the BMW i4 edrive 40? I’ve seen a few tests on the M50 version but none really on the other model with the longer range.
Here is one of the first tests:

Afaik from Passau (southeast Germany) over the Alps to Meran in Italy, consumption 16.9 kWh/100 km.
@@abraxastulammo9940 I’ll take a look. Many thanks!
I get at least 450km in my 4CT cruising at 105kph. At times I have got as much as 480km. Always cruise in Range mode with aircon in auto eco.......it keeps two people quite comfortable at outside temperature up to 30 degrees C even with a glass roof.
Hello! Great review, great car 👌 i have the Cross turismo 4S myself. I thougt the new MY22 software update ment that the cars are running mostly in range and normal mode on the rear motor only as rear wheel drive coupling both motors to neutral in coasting mode? Do some of you have some info on this? In the drive meny it looks like the power is going only to the rear at least cruising around in normal or range modes 🤔
Technological enhancements: more range in practice
The new Taycan model year will not be homologated separately, so there will not be any new WLTP range values. However, the real-world range of the latest versions will be greater in day-to-day use. Extensive technological developments have been implemented to achieve this increase. In Normal and Range modes, the front electric motor is almost completely decoupled and de-energised in the partial load range in the all-wheel drive models. Furthermore, no drive is transmitted to either axle when the car is coasting or at a standstill. This electric freewheel function reduces drag losses. The motors are switched on again within milliseconds only when the driver requests more power or changes the driving mode.
I found this text in porsche newsroom about this actually 👍
Not bad for a Kombi. 😉
Insideevs got 405 km driving at 112 km/h max. (70 mph) while the Model Y did 444 km and the Taycan 4S achieved 447 km.
After a 3h drive I usually take a break and the Taycan should be recharged in no time (at Ionity).
Kyle Conner got 251 miles for this car @70 mph. Are you sure you had range mode, did the power display on the left tube show power on the front wheel drive?
You mean rear wheels?
@@abraxastulammo9940 no check his video
@@BillB33525 At which timestamp do you see Kris' power display?
@@abraxastulammo9940 it’s not shown in his video, so was asking Chris.
Nice Turismo Kris, this blows away your Audi...
There are regular car ferries between Norway and Iceland??? That sounds like a very bizarre thing to do...
No, I will have to drive to Denmark and take the ferry from there 😊
Nice video and wish you to get better health wise soon. Regarding Taycan: 227Wh/km at 110kmh and even 237Wh /km at only 100kmh later? in calm, sunny, dry, fairly warm weather for a flat sportscar? I find that inefficient. My Tesla Model 3 LR took that at 130kmh in winter (-5, snow or rain) ... in same conditions right now it takes 150 Wh/km at 110kmh and 130-140Wh/km at 100kmh (and that on winter tires) max. And I would say it can be compared because Taycan is not an SUV... no reason to consume that much. Same goes for the EQS which is wayyyyyy off its WLTP with real range around 60% of that (see carmaniac) ...
I agree with you that the Taycan isn't the most efficient but you have to consider weight, tire dimensions in order to appreciate an accurate reading. There is also the Cross Turismo body shape which you have to consider. My RWD in the same test is doing 200-210 Wh/km and I find that decent enough. Keep in mind that even a 10-15 km/h reduction in speed increases the range significantly. I get a consistent 180-190 Wh/km at 95 km/h with 20-30 degrees battery and you will lose very little time but it gets pretty boring driving that slow.
Hi, love your channel. how about doing a 1000 km test with @ Bjørn Nyland where you both drive the same type of car (maybe your porsche taycan cross turismo) where one of you only charges on tesla's super chargers and the other charges on regular chargers. keep up the good work !!!
Another good video on a Sunday morning! 🙂 If you’re able to arrange it, please do a test with the narrower, 19-inch aero wheels some day. I know, driving a Porsche is not about efficiency.. However, I bet this car can do over 400 km, even at motorway speeds.
The regular Taycan did 580 km. at 90 kph in Bjørns summer range test with the aero wheels and Hankook EV tires. (That’s _not_ “bicycle wheels”. The total surface area is still larger than eg. on a Model S with 19 inch wheels.. 225/275 staggered- vs. 245 square setup.)
I want my Porsche to be efficient as well as fun to drive... It's no fun having range anxiety, even in a performance car...
I'm surprised you only got 16 miles range at 70. I routinely get 265 at 75MPH during summer weather. I have Michelin tires and it is a normal
taycan, however.
"during summer weather" .... "normal Tycan" .... answers you question 😊🙈
