The colorized version makes this film interesting. But what happened to the omitted opening scene, when the Army is warned that Geronimo is on the loose? That sets the premise to this great movie!

I keep wondering what this would look like if someone did a modern remaster/colorization of it in the mold of what Peter Jackson did to all that WWI footage from "They Shall Not Grow Old". I'd love to see this looking near DVD quality with better colorization.

In this film alone, 23% of the main characters sold-out their birth names to 'Hollywood'. It was most likely done as the result of pressure from greedy & deceitful agents, managers, and studios. Most likely the idea came from anticipated or perceived greater recognition & monetary gain? Other than when a woman gets married, there's absolutely no logical reason for anyone to disgrace & disrespect their parents by changing their name. Here are some examples that starred in Stage Coach 1939:So-called "Claire Trevor" was born Claire Wemlinger..So-called "John Wayne" was born Marion Robert Morrison. So called "Helen Gibson" was born Rose August Wenger. So called "Chris-Pin Martin" was born Ysabel Poinciana Chris-Pin Martin Paiz (too lengthy & unnecessary hyphen, especially for a man). So-called "Chief John Big Tree" was born Isaac Johnny John. So-called "Buddy Roosevelt" was born Kenneth Stanhope Sanderson. So-called "Steve Clemente" was born Esteban Clemento Morro. So-called "Franklyn Farmum" was born William Smith. So-called "Harry Tenbrook" was born by Olaf Hansen. So-called "Florence Lake" was born Florence Silverlake. So-called "Si Jenks" was born Howard Hansell Jenkins. So-called "Joe Rickson" was born Oscar Erickson. So-called "Francis Ford" was born Frances Joseph Feeney.
