I grew up in Mexico City. This series was the only thing in English! Fridays at 11 pm. I was 14. I thought I’d seen all of the series. I hadn’t seen, Dressed To Kill!!!!! Thank you so much for posting this!
Lol, I used to sneak out of my room and watch this Friday night, 11pm. I was probably 7 y.o. I got away with it until I watched this one. It gave me nightmares, so my parents put a stop to it. IDK if Basel Rathbone is the best 'Sherlock Holmes', but he will always be my favorite. ♥️
Funny you mentioned that, because just this instant it seemed as if I were watching Guillermo del Toro's remake of Nightmare Alley. I arrived at this scene quite by accident, it's been on autoplay for 5 hours.
Am old enough to remember seeing a picture in a newspaper of Nixon in the early 70s fishing with his friend, BeBe Robosa (spell>=?) in a 3 piece suit. But, then Nixon was so constipated. LOL.
Basil Rathbone was an actor that took a part, made it his own and woe to others trying it on. Robert Newtons "Long John Silver" in Treasure Island and James Mason;s "Captain Nemo" 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea are in the same vein. Classics never go out of style.
Think lve nearly watched every episode there is over and over , its addictive no doubts l will continue to watch them over again , , All the best to you and your channel looking forward to viewing more ,Scotland UK of GB 🇬🇧👍🏻
Ithink this film is very good to watch on my mobile phone. I like this film. Very mauh 🎄 sherlock homes is very good indeed. 🤔 Ihopeyou like this comment rebekah 🎄
Plot hole The insurance companies would immediately suspect fraud when several policies were paid out with the same beneficiary, where the death occurred under similar circumstances
I am guessing that those people who commit suicide by jumping out of windows generally open them first! Taking a run at a closed window with its frame in the hope that you'll go through is rather risky however one crazed by the venom of a spider might not be thinking so rationally. That spider looks like some kind of Tarantula which is said to pack a painful but harmless nip to humans.Even the more toxic spiders are generally too small to inject enough venom to be fatal in a person.
I’ve enjoyed several of your reactions, they always interesting! This one especially so since you obviously love it so much. I love both of them, too, but I have things that bother me but over all they’re still some of the best. 😊
This actually borders on spoof and is quite funny! Pyjama suicides - river claims distinguished victim - lawlessness rampant! - ‘It’s an outrage. That fellow Holmes had no business dying just now.’
What bothers me in this version of Sherlock Holmes is how stupid Dr Watson was made. Dr Watson was a military doctor so it's not credible he would be so dense. A good script would not need such piteous strategy to enhance Holmes' perspicacity.
Although these are very good movies, they're not really any mysteries, since, it's obvious who is behind these murders, or plots. An example of this is The Spider Woman. It's like the movie, The Speckled Band, in which A Snake is used to kill, rather than The Tarantulas (the Lycosa Spider) in this movie. In The Speckled Band, while it's a bit easy to guess who is the bad party, it is a mystery. This is why, in these Universal 1940 movies, My favorites are The Voice Of Terror, Terror By Night & The Sherlock Holmes Faces Death movies (they are actual mysteries). Let me know what you think.
To Sherlock Holmes to The Hardy boys there's other books series of books Hardy boys is one Sherlock Holmes is too number three is The Little rascals the series of books to read one is love romance sister wifes to sister daughter Wifes girlfriend that's polygamist Church and all the babies they have sons and daughters and their husbands when the federal government came and picked them up for jail and the buses whatever happened to the city of Illinois God's policy that's true a true story it happened in Illinois that came and got got the husbands and then I'll blessings I shipped them off while the women watch give him a life sentence for nothing the holy Landtheir husbands and the kids they have it's a series of books
These would have been a masterpiece but making Watson absent minded and feeble, really messed this production up. As a big Sherlock Holmes fan. Not really a fan of these.
Rathbone was quite the actor. He was good in anything he did. One of the finest speakers and speaking voices, immediately identifiable.
Indubidubly 🙂
@@Joeblow-ms3cv quite elementary!
Thoroughly enjoyable evening! I haven’t seen these films in 4 or 5 decades. I loved every moment! Thank you!

"Yes! It's horrible!"
"Let's go and get a drink!"
I'm guilty of not commenting enough when I binge watch! Much thanks!!!
The river murdered hm. Warnt no suicide.
1.) "The Spider Woman," 2.) At the 1 hour mark, "Woman In Green," 3.) At 2'10" is "Dressed To Kill
Thank you for no commercial interruptions.
I subbed because of that!
👍
I had enough commercials for the both of us
I’m watching this in April 2024 on u-tube, and there are many, many advertisements… Nice to see these great old movies.
" That fella Holmes had no business dying right now " 🙂

Brilliant film. Gale Sondergaard was a gorgeous lady.
Love the variety of hat designs the ladies are wearing.
Thanks for posting!

Plot hole
The insurance companies would immediately suspect fraud
when several policies were paid out with the same beneficiary, where the death occurred under similar circumstances
They weren't paid out to the same beneficiary. "Never the same man twice mind you."
It’s just a story from a simpler time
Thanks so much! These are great.
I love Sherlock Holmes!
If u look at the fall sherlock got when watson hit him. He fell badly against the small table. That had 2 hurt a bit.. 😮
Yes! And Basil Rathbone didn't break character and ruin the take. ❤
His head hit the table.. pretty hard 🤕
Here be the following Sherlock Holmes movies--
THE SPIDER WOMAN
THE WOMAN IN GREEN
DRESSED TO KILL
All three of them make for great viewing.
The Scarlet claw and Terror by night are my favorites.

Pencils these days, you said it brother.
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖

His Indian accent. Atrocious! Their acting. Atrocious! Yet I still love this movie!😂
😮 Excellent movie! Thank you...but why no closed captions or subtitles available??!
❤ love Sherlock holms.
The Giant Rat of Sumatra…🤡🐀🔦
Is that a real spider? If it’s a puppet, they did a remarkable job.
Gale is in it. 😊😊
A regular superhuman with control over his emotions, but threaten his buddy and he'll kick your ass.
Ty greatly!
Best Sherlock indeed

Maybe so, but there is something hilariously campy about it. IF you prefer a more faithful adaption, go watch Granada with Jeremy Brett.
Sherlock killed the man on the roof after that man ran out of bullets😮

What about the commonality of the people that collect on the insurance policies
I wish i could be hipnoteized to forget that i ever smoked. And dislike the taste.
He could have been an African prince.
Why do they sink to lying about the name of the movie? It gains them NOTHING.
what year was this made 1943 or 1946?
The spider is not an insect but àra hnid spiders have eight legs and insects ha e ßix legs
💕👍 🙋♀️ 🇫🇷

More like an homme fatale.
Watson { F } up the hole show , Wished Dole would of made a better character .
not closed captioned so could not enjoy it. thanks
Oh, that's sad.

The foremost expert in entomology thinks a spider is an insect???
That’s Hollywood for you!😂
I have the odd feeling that the actor is not a doctor!
Hollywood thought it was sexier saying insect than saying arachnid? Hopefully, most know better😮
@@kimmccabe1422not in Hollywood 😂
