There is nothing better than watching a black and white western on a Sunday night before going to bed sipping on some tea
amen!
Yep. Can’t abide the colourised versions. Who came up with that stupid idea.
Sure there is-watching TWO of them!
@@brerrabbit9585 ... and spikng the tea!!
I couldn’t agree more. But make it saturday evening on a cold winter night.
Fabulous little adventure!
Watched many times, favorite western, in a class by itself
I played the music from 'Stagecoah' and 'Fort Apache' on my car`s CD system when my family and I drove through Monument Valley and Mt.Zion National Park when we drove cross country from NJ to 'do' the Southwest in dept.
Have seen this several times, but am only just now noticing Yakima Canutt in the very beginning. Great stunt man and he was with John Wayne in many of his movies in the 1930s.
1939 was the greatest year in the history of cinema. Stagecoach, Gone with the Wind and Wizard of Oz all came out that year and would have a defining influence on filmmakers for generations to come. I’d argue this movie is the most important of the 3 due to Ford and Wayne’s influence.
Other of my personal favorites (maybe not as influential) from that year: "Beau Geste," "Gunga Din," "In Name Only," "Drums Along the Mohawk," "Destry Rides Again," "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," "The Flying Deuces," "Of Mice and Men."
When Dallas says it's a little girl her don't move.
Wuthering Heights! Do not forget Wuthering Heights.
thank YOU ... One of my favorites

Groundbreaking year for films and perhaps the greatest year for films
Man, there must have been an infinite supply of Apaches!
One of the best

Love it!! 😂🤣
EXCELLENT
Best part when wayne shoots his gun and you see his expression!
Great movie but what was the relationship between Lucy and Hatfield?
Hatfield saved 1 last bullet for Lucy in case they were overwhelmed by the Apache. He would’ve spared her a gruesome fate.
Hatfield stated that her father commanded his company during the war. As such, he was accompanying her in a show of loyalty to her father. Whether you believe that is the sole reason for his actions, you may decide for yourself.
Watching this in Britain. A crooked Banker. Oh, surely not!
Is there another made?.I saw one in color ?
Same movie, just colorized. They made some cuts in the movie that ruined it.
It was remade at least twice (60s & 80s).
John Wayne plays the hero, but failed to enlist in WWII.
Tried to enlist but contracts with RKO had them requesting deferments for Wayne, their only A lister.
Yeah. John Wayne was a pretty good actor when he was young but later, he started to believe all the hype about himself and his acting suffered.
Neither did Ronald Reagan
And still raised more money to support the war effort then most. His movies in support of the armed forces/war effort are second to none.
@@JohnDoe-wb4iv Wrong. Reagan was in the Army.
Ombre rosse in italiano
En français svp merci.
GTFO with that 🤬! Everything in this movie was in English.
IF YOU LIKE Claire Trevor, see "Born to Kill."
