XDefiant (formerly known as Tom Clancy's XDefiant) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Ubisoft San Francisco and published by Ubisoft. I was thinking this game was being abandoned because of Ubisoft, but the update and XCoins listing show they're getting ready for release.
And even though it is Ubisoft publishing, I'm looking forward to this game so much.

I gave up on COD recently but still appreciate checking out your content. I'm with you on this one. Xdefiant will have one opportunity for a first impression and I'd much rather them take their time launching properly than rush a product that feels broken an incomplete. I want to grind this game so badly, but I'm ok waiting for that time.
Can't wait! Will come out when it's ready, refreshing for once.

@@mysteries_117Ong, Ubisoft is cancer but it seems they have a hands off role in the game. Skull and Bones has been in development hell for close to a decade and it had to be released as Ubisoft took money for development requiring its launches. XDefient seems like a b project for them, why else would they be so transparent on the issues of the game and why they don't want to launch it.
I think the more concerning part will be it's monetization, free to play games have the worst most greediest forms of monetization.

The game looks so good... it seems to give off similar vibes as BO2. BO2 had the best multiplayer for any COD game ever released IMO.

I enjoyed the beta from ages ago but I feel like it's not going to stick the landing, regardless of quality. No major marketing push (Understandably so given the lack of a release date). the vast majority of people have probably forgotten it even exists, you have to remember the massive number of people who just log on to play a game like COD on the weekend, that don't engage on social media and don't follow content creators.
A premium game with a small playerbase can work it's way up, a free-to-play title? Much steeper climb.

The hate train seems higher because people just want to play the game. They're used to the whole live service, fix as we go system and so delays like this now piss people off when they should really be happy about them.
Ong lol wait until November if it means it's launches stable and content rich. I enjoyed my time playing the beta last year and I can tell its using an ancient engine as if it reminded me of the the old shitty engine COD used for 10 years.

I have to admit that I was hyped for this game, not anymore but I'm still gonna play it and hopefully it will be better than the beta and will make me play nonstop. I'm tired of COD, I got interstellar camo and havent touched it in a good while.
Playing the beta last year impressed me as i felt it was very polished and full of content. Something Ubisoft isnt known for, my issues had to do with the character abilities and how dated the engine felt. Reminded me of old COD but in the worst way possible. I hope they tried to address that and i hope theirs a classic playlist with no abilities. They suck in BO3/BO4 and they have no reason to be in the game.

I’m so confident that Activision payed these guys to delay it. It really wouldn’t make sense for them to risk delaying it and killing the hype
Okay let's say they did launch with the hype. We get unfinished, buggy, and light on content and have to wait a whole year to reach a good state. Instead they delay to avoid competition with MW3 and better yet will launch after it's honeymoon phase giving players who are sick of the recycled broken trash that is MW3 a new free to play game.

Remember when this game was revealed it received scathing impressions from the game industry and even had to rebrand and remove any mention of Tom Clancy. But out of sheer luck COD was in the complete shitter when they started alphas and the playerbase swarmed XDefient. I think that caused them to reevaluate the games launch. I honestly think without the hype they would've released an unfinished buggy live service mess.

The only differences between this crap and COD is it's free, no br bs, it has no invasive matchmaking algorithms, and there's no scorestreaks. It just copies large af maps, a restrictive gunsmith system, forced crossplay, inconsistent hit detection, and disbanding lobbies. I'll stick to Helldivers and literally any game that's not trying to copy COD beat for beat.
