It’s as if ubisoft is making the equivalent of smash brothers, but with all of their fps/shooter IPs in a cod-style fps. (Yes I know they make brawlhalla). This is probably the closest we’ll ever get to Funke’s idea of a crossover fps

The game looks good but sadly I get so turned off by the cartoony characters…I’d much rather the game have military style realistic characters not this fictional shit

Surprisingly solid and enjoyable so far. The blend of Overwatch style abilities & ultimates with COD-esque gunplay is an interesting combo

Literally bo3 without jetpacks. If they can keep this up and balance out the abilities so it doesn't turn into Destinys crucible ability spam then this could seriously become a staple game in the FPS genre.

Tbh this game is shaping up to be my main jam, 14 arena style 3 lane maps, no sbmm, aim assist dialed back from modern cod, devs seem to be engaging with the community. And free to play? Might be ubi's year with xdefiant and division heartland.
As a solo player without friends to squad with, this looks better suited for me than The Finals

He was talking more about the gunplay and movement the abilitiys are just a new mix to the old classic cod feel and i lile how the ttk is and how the game feels to play
Hopefully when the game fully releases, the devs will listen to the community and deliver a fun experience. I haven’t enjoyed an fps game since Warzone 1 year 1. I hope this game can bring me back to play online fps games 🙏🏻
It's brilliant. It has that magic sauce that is hard to define. It's a refined mix of gunplay, movement, abilities and maps that just come together in a way, where the game is greater than the sum of its parts.
This game has come a long way over the past year since the early test builds - feels great, but yeah there are still some issues that need to be ironed out (like every title) and at least the dev team has been listening to the feedback and reporting from those of us testing.

I have a some time played on XDefiant and it’s a great game. Simple. Fun. Great movement. Great TTK. Fun mechanics. Good maps. No SBMM. But all in all, it’s an arena shooter, I’m sure it will go far but only so far.

I find the time to kill very odd. More often than any other game, I find myself hitting opponents but they survive just long enough to lose my line of sight or into cover. Also some abilities are just better than others, many use the cloaking ability or the goggles to see through walls, at least on the simple modes like Domination cause many treat it like TDM.
yeah they need to make new fresh game modes and that goes for all games, you can go back to PS2 games and find the exact same game modes they release in 2023 AAA titles
From gameplay ive seen it depends on the weapons, smg’s tend to kill quicker, its still a beta and they’re taking feedback so they can always tweak the guns

@@JayCord00 for them to create New Game Modes we haven't seen before or adapt on them. With an actual theme and story that captivates you. Nobody cares for new cod maps because they relate to nothing. Old cod maps featured in the campaigns or were similar and it was awesome. I'm just speaking from an FPS fan who likes the Old Call of Duty + Battlefield Games. These new games are lifeless. Battlefield 2042 doesn't even have a story the theme is basically pointless. Modern Warfare II doesn't have its own identity and is bland and dull using the name from their previous most iconic title manipulating OG players to purchase the game.
Yes, I agree. The TTK is odd. Sometimes it feels like I melt an enemy, and other times it feels like I dropped a whole mag in some player and they turn and shoot me dead. Just feels unbalanced.

ONE thing that the new MW2 did is have a setting for flashes and other items that make a high-pitched noise for people with tinnitus that turns it off and as someone who has it i cant tell you how much it helps haha
Idk if it’s a waste of time or extremely difficult but something that’s necessary imo is having an absurd amount of weapons. It’s crucial. I think there should be a ton of guns. Models, Barrett, intervention, mp7, just all the of weapons with new ones too!

I'm all in for XDefiant. Looks like Ubisoft finally learnt from their previous Free2Play games.
For the younger viewers: COD didn't always use the "classic" 3 lane design. That wasn't fully introduced until COD block ops era. Most people much preferred the design of COD up through the original MW2.
The "classic 3 lane design" is what killed COD in my opinion. It makes the game so much more evened out, much harder to outplay, and much more formulaic/boring.
The 3 lane map design is honestly JUST LIKE SBMM in the way it flattens the curve and makes the game boring.

I have that exact scope mount for a mosin nagant that’s pretty wild. (If anyone is wondering it’s the one on the thumbnail and it’s a brass stacker universal mount) if I can use my mosin from real life in a game that would be so cool especially because I haven’t played a call of duty with a mosin nagant.

@@Tomographic yeah I saw it and had to do a double take. If there is anything I love in a gun game it’s when the devs actually know about firearms and put stuff like that in the game even though only a very small portion of their audience knows what it is. Very cool indeed.

Ive really been enjoying this game, not every single game is sweaty, the guns TTK feel great, aim assist is very balanced, movement isnt overly slippery. I honestly dont like the map voting as I feel like ive only been playing the same three maps

Looks promising, I personally love the characters and worlds Ubisoft has created. I would have liked a more of a lean towards realism - not as much as R6, but less towards the overwatch/power abilities style gameplay. However there is no doubt I will be playing this game.
PS - TTK seems very quick, hopefully they fix this.

I’d like to see some light camo progression and challenges kinda like cod has had to get a cool ending camo. Lately that’s been one of the only things I’ve cared to do in cod
They have some form of mastery with bronze silver and gold camos at specific weapon levels but since progression is bugged they took it out and unlocked all weapons, attachments, and equipment for everyone to use. I’m sure they’ll add it back on release tho since it was already in the beta. Hopefully they add even more mastery camos.

Good game, reminds me of another Ubisoft game I played on xbox 360 with different tribes. I enjoyed this game, it is similar to Rogue.
There's one thing CoD has that Xdefiant doesn't that'll determine whether people leave CoD and that's anti-cheat. Most legit players will take a slower paced game with SBMM over lobbies full of cheaters.
If Xdefiant doesn't come with a robust anti-cheat it'll be dead in a few months with every lobby being cheat v cheat.

It's good but there is only so much you can do after playing for hours and hours kinda gets a little dry the desync is horrendous but apart from that it is actually a lot of fun! You do have to give it a try if you haven't already

This is really funny, because this game is basically and literally the CoD multiplayer modes no one plays anymore because of Warzone. Also unless Ubisoft has a solid anti cheating plan for this game, it will be flooded with cheaters in no time.

I had fun in the beta even if it felt really unbalanced in plenty of parts.
What I would LOVE to see is a competitive SnD mode for ranked etc, that for me would be the dream, allthough im not sure how well it would work in this game

The game plays great and sniping is super satisfying but I don’t think the traditional modes it offers right now is enough for it to be a cod killer.
Hoping to see something with more risk/reward similar to The Finals.
CoD is like FIFA. No matter how shit it is, people will buy it regardless because of: 1. nostalgia. and 2. Are there better games with the player base cod has? Look at the shitshow called BF 2042. and unless you love those big maps which CoD has never been you most likely won't love that.

I've seen so many shooter previews from different channels that always add in "some of the devs use to work on COD." (generalizing the statement of course) What I find interested about that, is imagine a new retail store opening up and saying "most of these employees worked for Walmart." How many were there for a couple of months and got laid off? How many were there for a year and got fired? How many were responsible for things about COD we didn't like? *steps off soapbox* the game looks fun
Yeah, the "some of the devs worked on COD games" line isn't a real selling point for me. It's like, cool? You mean the franchise that has more or less continued to put out nearly yearly releases that are essentially carbon copies of previous ones, just with a different setting? Wow, very cool.
I get why this line is used, but I am not one of the people with which it'll get a bite from. To me, it's an active detractor from my desire to want to play a game.
