    I've been using the Givi Trekker DLM30 top box for over a year now, and I love its practicality and low profile. It does have a drawback though, you obviously can't stash a helmet in it. Outside of going for a full-size unit, what alternatives are there? Well, Givi has just released a new case which can do just that, and it offers lightweight along with it. But as you'd expect there are some compromises. You can see more from Givi's range over at ‪@GIVIchannel‬
    As I mentioned in the video, the deals I can find currently for this case are;
    £144 on Amazon UK - amzn.to/2GQDoRM
    $199 on Amazon US - amzn.to/2RdAad3

    I've got the matching side cases. Only 25L, but plenty big enough for a solo weekend away. I love the combination lock, so quick and easy when on the move but i never leave them on the bike. Great review. 👍

    Great review. I need a lighter version for my Niken GT as I found my Givi V47 and my Dolomiti setup too heavy for the bike. I wanted to make sure the Weightless would work with my M5 plate, and you showed it does. Thanks for the confirmation. From Canada 🇨🇦, great video!!

    Excellent review as usual, many thanks. Its not only smaller bikes either, my KTM GT can only take so much on a carrier because of where it fastens on the bike and the design of the actual available carrier itself . Some BMW's have the same issues. So the lighter the top box the better.

    Have one. Clearly there are more secure options but if you want something to take on and off the bike quickly and is easy to carry then it’s great. Comes down to how you indeed to use it. It does look great on the bike.

    Nice video - as always. What do you like about Givi (and these two top boxes) compared w/what Triumph offers for the Tiger?

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Před 3 lety +1

      I chose Givi purely on the basis that they were the only manufacturer I found that made a smaller ally top box. Did you know that the Triumph luggage is also made by Givi? It is their Trekker range which is just rebranded.

    What do you think is the most aesthetic top box than can fit a full-faced helmet? Still having a hard time finding one that has enough security. This one looks great though.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Před rokem

      Thats a hard one as they are all ostensibly ugly really. The SW-Motech Trax in black isnt too bad, but the reality is that they are all relatively easy to break into if you know what youre doing. Some are just easier than others

    I have a Givi V40N. It’s a hard plastic case which takes a full face helmet with ease and has never leaked. It’s reasonably lightweight, although the styling might not appeal to all. Priced around £110.

    Hey..good review….just wondering whether Givi are missing a trick here…..wouldn’t it be nice if there was some sort of framework available to enable you to mount a box top frame(as they do on some of the harder boxes….im sure something could be fashioned although might be a bit unsightly….) I like the idea of a top box, especially this one (anyone intent on breaking in isn’t going to be deterred by any of the securities I’ve seen…all seem to me to be easily compromised by a mid sized screwdriver and a grunt or two,but would ideally like to be able to mount a tent ontop of the top box ….ove got one of the Khyam motorbike specific tents and the plus is it’s easy up as the poles are pre-installed, however that makes the overall dimensions of the packed tent quite lengthy and you can’t separate the poles easily from the flysheet and inner tent…..first world problems I fully appreciate!

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Před 3 lety

      Its fairly sturdy, but it is only going to have limited uses. Its selling point is its low weight, which would appeal to small bikes or scooters I guess, but I wouldnt trust leaving anything valuable in it, particularly my helmet. I bought the top case solely for local riding . Just got it in but I like it . My bike is top heavy enough, this adds capacity for errands w/o the weight from having to use my Outback Panniers or big Outback top case I use for LONG distance . Secure enough as a detour-ant while you spend 10 minutes grabbing whatever’s at the bodega.

      Yep as I covered in the video, its not the most secure topbox by a long way, but its more intended for use when you're not going to leave the bike unattended, or in a dodgy area,
