  • Highlights featuring Collingwood's goals ONLY. 1990 was the year that officially ended the "Colliwobbles" with the Magpies 32 year premiership drought being broken with a 48 point win over arch-rival, Essendon. This was the first year that the league was to become known as the "AFL" so it was fitting that Collingwood were victors and will be remembered as the first team to win a premiership in the new "national" competition. Our courageous captain Tony Shaw won the Norm Smith medal as the best player in the match. Final scores: Collingwood 13.11 (89) to Essendon 5.11 (41).
