What fantastic quality. Thank you Raleigh98
I slept overnight at victoria park to get grand final tickets.. it was a g8 time.....history says what it is....I still love watching this game.. everytime Peter Moore grabs the ball on the edge of the goal square in the last qtr.. i still hope he kicks it...its incomprehensible that he missed that shot :(
First grand final telecast live in Melbourne. As a kid this was a big deal, and what a beauty it was. Thanks for uploading
Thanks heaps for posting mate. Some great memories there.
Channel 7 paid $100,000 for exclusive rights to broadcast the match live which was considered a massive risk in 1977. When the ratings came in they happily forked over $100,000 the following week as well.
How's the dust! Great days for footy back then.
Magnificent. Thanks for this, Raileigh 98
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it mate
go the roos
From the four minute mark of the first quarter to the 12 minute mark of the fourth quarter they kicked 11 points and then they kicked five unanswered final quarter goals to draw the 1977 Grand Final at 76 points apiece. NM 9.22.76 COLL 10.16.76 Peter Moore booted four majors for the Magpies and Phil Baker notched a half dozen of his own goals for the Kangaroos. Arnold Briedis kicked seven behinds and notched 22 possessions and eight marks. Ron Barassi said later, "We should have won the game. I know that is a brave statement, but we did have five more scoring shots than Collingwood”.
Up ...She ...Goes!!!!!
I always thought the other commentator was Peter Landy but it isn’t...does anyone know who he is please, he was a great commentator
It's Peter Ewin, he commentated footy on ABC Radio for many years. This was his only year with Channel 7.
The umpire didnt move...TORPEDO PUNT....that was footy!!!
looked like a plain old flat punt peter Hudson style
North just wanted it more
Yes BABY
Hang on this was a draw?
@@maxipazz8214 yeah but look how much Collingwood we’re leading it by in the third quarter
@@maxipazz8214they did a replay like a second grand final and north won
Oohh gollie...oohhh golliee
Collingwood wins this Grand Final if Carman didn’t have a brain fade in the second semi against Hawthorn.
His act of madness cost us the flag.
No way m8 North were on a roll and Collingwood were underdone having played only the one final before this
Collingwood went into the last quarter 27 points up ; in maybe two mins of the last quarter Moore ran into an open goal...and missed. 12 yo me was right behind said goals oh the despair...
@@maxipazz8214 ; I'm a Collingwood fan but North had way many better players than us. North deserved it.
The game that got me into footy. Sensational stuff. Go Pies.
This is how the game should be played, if it is a draw then a replay is necessary, I know it will never happen because other events are organised and they can’t be disrupted , typical entrepreneurs decision.
