      Like most animals. Humans make up fake stories to make ourselves feel better about killing them and hitting them. “They don’t feel pain in their mouth.” Well that’s convenient. “They can live with one claw!” Another convenience that happens to benefit humans. “Whales don’t get caught in traps.” Yet another one. We have many.

    As a fish keeper, I can attest that fish definitely have personalities. Out of all of my fish, there is one particular one that immediately comes to the front of the tank whenever he sees me. He will stay there until I open the top of the tank & then he’ll let me hand feed him. He is the only fish I’ve had that lets me touch him. He’ll rub against my fingers & hang out for as long as I’m able to. This is an awesome video. Thank you for sharing! 🐠🐟🐡

Despite that, little over a week ago, I decided to see if our local animal shelter had any dogs. I called about one the next morning and he had been adopted. A couple of days later, a tiny female was posted, who is 7. I think I have another few years in me!
      I immediately began the process of adopting her. I was approved and since I am housebound, they are kindly bringing her to me. Her elderly owner died and her children put this tiny, sheltered dog at the pound. She was doing so badly that the pound called a rescue group to help. I saw her picture when it was posted online. She lost a third of her body weight in a couple of weeks. I had the most precious loved one the same thing happened to. He was 13 pounds, had weighed 18 when he arrived and should have weighed 24. Wow, wow. This is too precious. I am also anti-fishing. I personally hate seeing how people revel in watching a fish wriggle on a hook (yes, painful to them) and then slowly suffer as they lose their life. It's not fun but some people get off on it. Feeding their ego, not thought of animals suffering. Anyone who has ever developed a relationship with a wild animal knows the awe and humility of that connection. I totally get how this man feels. It's so lovely seeing it.

      @@miitfist7360 I don't "act like" anything. This is how I feel. Don't try putting words in my mouth either. Don't start inferring this about depriving people of food. What a leap! The problem is most people don't want to face the cruelty of killing fish. I think that's pretty clear.

      Im sorry but a lot of fisherman are actually the biggest guardians and advocates for fish, your comment is ignorant and we do far more to keep our fish and our rivers and wildlife healthy than the majority of non fisherman. Sounds like a typical comment to be spouted from a hairy bushed vegan with no understanding of the sport and no willingness to educate yourself

    So touching. Reminds me of my last goldfish. I’ve had many before Pico. He was black had the big pop eyes and a fanned tail. None of them would let me pet their fins or back or rub their head. Pico would see me and rush to the top of his bowl for a pet, no food reward just a pet. None of the other goldfish I had would let me do that. I’d run my finger across his bowl. And he’d follow it. Once I did it for five minutes and he followed my finger. So much for the three second attention span they say goldfish have. I fed him these flakes and his black turned to a brilliant gold but his fin tips had were black lined. They looked like racing stripes. He was a very active fish. Oh I loved that fish. I was going to move him to a bigger home and he suddenly died. He was only six months with me. I was so heartbroken I never got another fish. I seemed more attached to him than all the other goldfish I had since my first one I won at a fair in 1968 when I was 9. Tommy lived for two years. So it doesn’t surprise me that the diver made a fish friend. Animals are amazing critters. They know when you help them, they know you love them, and this fish just likes this guy and his buddies do too. We don’t give enough credit to many animals to have the capacity to show these kinds of feelings of liking you. I mean I had two red slider turtles as a kid. One was grumpy and introverted the other outgoing. Who would ever think that a turtle would follow you. No reward just follow because they like you. So when I saw a video of a person with a growing tortoise being affectionate, another with his iguana being affectionate, nothing to do with warmth or food. They just wanted to be with you, you realize animals are more complex than we realize. And this fish proves once again, that animals have likes just like anyone else. They’re not limited.
    It’s beautiful to see. I hope the diver’s fish friends have a very long life and friendship with him.

    I know the feeling. I live near the ocean and used to bodyboard a lot. Usually in August dolphins are moving around Southern California. I've had a few close encounters with dolphin families who were very curious of me. Once I was in Costa Rica, wading in a warm fresh water pond near a waterfall, and all these neon colored tetras came up and swam around me like, "Hey! we found a human!" Such a calm feeling.

  • @ellelykens3503
    @ellelykens3503 Před 4 měsíci +1

    This is really cute. I think that’s the reason the fish is following the diver is that it either thinks like this fish might have like a symbiotic relationship with something and might think that the diver is that thing because the diver is chill and bigger. The fish probably feels safe that nothing would come around and eat it, also, the diver probably gives it food or something but this is also just really cute
