I love we humans can argue about how selfish it is to put your parents in a nursing home because you don’t want to try to care them, but we don’t give two sh*ts about abandoning senior animals, who even if messy and require a lot of care, are still significantly easier to care for (in most cases). I type this thinking of my senior cat of 15 years Leo, and my senior Basset hound Fred who I had for 2-3 years after finding him wet and wondering the road all day.
