@@toribern816 You never know when it will happen! But being out in nature (or having a cat that brings in wildlife) makes it more likely. Being observant also helps. A year ago, I was the passenger in a car driving down a mountain road at night while it was pouring rain, I was watching the rain and hail bounce off the road so long I became somewhat desensitized to the sight. Then I saw something bigger bounce in front of the headlights and I thought, "That's strange... that didn't look like hail..." It took my brain a second to register what I saw, but I suddenly realized a frog jumped in front of the car and said "Stop the car!" I got out in the rain with a flashlight and looked all around. I walked around to the driver's side and one inch in front of the rear tire I see this cute little frog looking up at me. If the car had stopped a second later she could have been dead. I was so relieved. We tried to get her off the road, or at least away from the tire so we could move the car, but she didn't want to budge. She actually acted like she wanted to come with us, so after some heavy deliberation, we took her home. She's been with us a year now and seems happy. I never thought I would have a frog, but most of the animals I've cared for came into my life through strange, unplanned circumstances.

The videos with wild animals becoming "pets" I think encourage people to get an exotic or wild animal. In my opinion, Dodo is pretty good about their presentations. They usually have the person who ends up with the animals say disclaimers. Like, "they are to remain wild", "there was no other option", etc. Other channels, not so much.

      A non-releasable owl is:

Here is a brief paragraph from online, and you can search for more info if you want it "You know how we (humans) have eyeballs? Well, owls don't. They have eye tubes or cylinders, rod-shaped eyes that do not move in their sockets as eyeballs do. Instead, owls have to move their bodies or heads in order to look around." I think that is fascinating.
