- In this video, I discuss 5 better ways to warm up for practices or games. All 5 of these ways will accomplish the same goal of warming up the player's body and preparing them for the demands of the game ahead, but do it in a much more fun and beneficial way for everyone involved.
Everyone knows the typical pre-sport warm-up of jogging, static or dynamic "stretching", or in basketball the infamous stationary ball handling, and let's be honest all of these are boring and a waste of time.
5 better ways to warm up which I discuss in this video are..
Playing another sport, such as soccer, wall ball, etc.
Movement/ coordination challenges
Work on a skill such as floaters, footwork,etc

Actually playing, crazy right, you can warm-up for the sport by actually playing the sport..

Totally agree with this. True across all disciplines. I also find I warm up way better when playing around than just doing drill-like warmup routines. The body is moving through a greater range of movement types.
