FULL partner shooting workout. Improve your shooting accuracy and consistency. This shooting workout trains your ability to shoot off the dribble, off the catch, create space and make good decisions. If you want to improve your ability to shoot in games, you need to be training with a partner. You need both the ability to make shots at a high level and the decision making ability to know when to shoot those shots and be able to make them with a defender guarding you.
Drill 1: First person to 5 at each spot
Drill 2: First person to 7-10
Drill 3: First person to 5 on both wings
Drill 4: Corner to corner 3s, 10 makes
Drill 5: First person to 7 on each wing
Drill 6: First person to 5 both corners

    Fundamentally these kids are terrible especially with some of the shots being put up now holy shit I would have rode the bench for at least 3 games it’s just jack em up now it’s to the point basketball has gotten lame to watch the paint game is basically gone

    Myelin is created through repetition of anything. So if you repeatedly did spot up shooting everyday you would produce myelin. Muscle memory is a figure of speech, it refers to your cerebellum which remembers practiced movements. Congratulations you just made everyone dumber

      That’s like saying muscle is built by lifting the same weight and never adjusting rep scheme or adding weight, yes but why do 1 million reps to “produce” myelin when you can do it more efficiently and faster. Congrats you literally added nothing to this dialogue

      I’m just saying myelin is produced by repetition. You can progress up to those shots but each progression is going to require a certain amount of repetition to produce myelin on those pathways. I think you’re presenting a great concept. It’s important that players and students understand how consistent habits impact brain function.

    Is 120 game type shots, 100 catch and shoot 3’s and 22 free throws enough for a daily shooting routine? Breakdown: 20 from right corner 2 FT 20 from right wing 2 FT 20 from right elbow 2 FT Same on the left side 20 3’s from 5 spots 2 FT between each spot I also end the drill on a spot if shooter gets 5 in a row.

    Having game experience has to be better for your game then practice bec what are we practing for?? Literally practing for upcoming games lol The problem is we need less coaching staff and more elite coaches that played in real games vs elite talent sorry everbody can’t go but the NBA will welcome talent players everytime

      But you need to practice to learn from the mistakes of the game you played yesterday. You need practice to develop a bag, to read the game and improve your IQ, your fundamentals, etc. A guy like Jokic if he was raised in the USA won't make it in to the NBA, because coaches won't give a damn about developing fundamentals

    Not to mention lots of footage and homework and the right body size. Gotta be tall enough to have a good wing span, not too tall so you can have good speed and footwork, and strong enough to not be bodied around. Also athleticism to block shots is good too.

    Amazing tips, 1:16 there is nothing wrong with a two motion shot btw, weird you said One motion but had Dame and Kyrie on the screen who both have two motion shots. Not a big deal, most important stuff is to lock in on mechanics, reps and repeatability ofc doesn't have to be one motion just because Curry is one motion. Can be either.

      Those are both still one motion shots in terms of transfer of energy, they don’t have a hitch or have a long pause on their shot. It’s way more towards the one motion shot side of the spectrum as opposed to the two motion shot I’m referring too

      @@Quantumintelligence1776 For sure, although it certainly works the other way around. However, history is taught more openly in most parts of Europe than in the States. Which, in my opinion, means that if you are willing to do so, you are more likely to learn to see things in a more diverse way in Europe than is the case in most parts of the world! Because to be honest, most of the world's problems stem from the fact that Americans only know their view of things and therefore misjudge facts because they have never really been shown what the other side of the coin really looks like! The same principle applies to sport. Europe has a very different sports culture. Starting with the league system, which is not school-based. (Unless you are in a boarding school explicitly designed for this) From fan culture, to the fact that sport here is more regional than national and therefore has a completely different bond and passion behind what you are trying to achieve in a competitive spirit. Especially because sports clubs always represent the region where they were founded and are not run as franchises

      If you're pro in Europe you also have to train daily. The point on developing your fundamentals and IQ stills there.

    My 13 year old son has played for 3 years and is taller than the average kid. He has weak legs and he knows how to dribble but keeps losing the ball come game time. What advice would you give me this off-season, and should he continue to play weekly games with the rest of the team while he trains on being a better him.

      Would focus on getting him in the weight room to some degree and training, 2-3 days a week with other players doing SSG and 2-3 days focusing on specific work on his own
