FULL Playing Through Contact Workout | Small Sided Games Workout

  • In this full basketball workout, we focus on being able to play through contact and deal with pressure. The workout starts with a few ball handling specific drills getting them used to initiating contact, and being able to deal with physicality.
    From there we progress one on one drills to work on dealing with pressure and getting downhill to the rim with a limited amount of dribbles. This enforces the players to go through contact as opposed to avoiding it and dribbling around the defender. This is something a lot of basketball players struggle with and this dribble with definitely help players get by their defender more effectively.
    Next we progress to a floater specific drill that focuses on dealing with pressure off the dribble and then being able to create space getting into your floater.
    Then we progress into 2v2 small sided games drills that work on being able to pass under pressure, move without the ball and play off your partner. This is a great team basketball drill to work on these skills in a game context.
    Lastly we get into 4v4 play to allow the players to play within a more game context and apply what they learned to a more team concept.

    Yo coach when i shoot my wrist doesnt go back straight like everyone else it goes back kinda sideways and there is nothing to fix it. What should i do plz help

    Great stuff. What ball do you use when doing a coed drill? Girls or guys ball?

      Try to switch the ball in and out for the girls when we can, or default to boys ball
