    I need to watch this video about 20 times, because I really need to improve my shot. I'm just trying to average at least just 6 PPG in summer league.

    Is this a good workout for trying to improve shooting and finishing?
    Form shots x25
    Free throws x2
    Any move into full speed shot x25
    Free throws x2
    Any move into freestyle layups x25
    Free throws
    Slight fade shots off dribble x25
    Free throws
    Layups but have to be above or to the side of the square x25
    Free throws x5 to end it

      decent, thats just touching on a little of everything, would focus in a little more on certain things you need to improve

    A lot of people say I have the beyond the skill to play college basketball, but i don’t see that skill in my self when I compare myself with other players on the next level do you think it’s a confidence/ perfectionist thing?

    • @tjltraining
      @tjltraining  Před měsícem +1

      All depends, being “skilled” doesn’t mean anything if you can’t use it in games, so as long as you are more effective then others in games and play well that’s what matters so I would use that to judge if you are college ready. At the end of the day don’t need to compare yourself to others if you are reaching your potential

    Hey coach, do you have any tips for getting better at off balance shots in game.

    • @tjltraining
      @tjltraining  Před měsícem

      Yeah practice them and work on shooting “off balance” to get used to it so you can make shots in any condition

    wanted to ask as a point guard should I be practicing more off the dribble shooting and creating my own shot rather than off the catch when wanting to become and elite shooter

    • @tjltraining
      @tjltraining  Před měsícem

      Good question, would depend on your role, I would say mostly off the catch, if you aren’t great at that most likely you won’t have the green light to shoot a ton off the dribble, would say 60% off catch/ 40% off the dribble for now and then depending on role and typical shots you get, adjust from there

      @@axelr4127 A routine is to make everything easier and make it on auto pilot. that is exactly the opposite of what you need t improve.

    Hey coach, when I flick my wrist it goes outwards so that my wrist is facing slightly outwards, around 45 degrees off from facing the basket. This happens more when I shoot threes. Is this an issue and should I fix it.

    Don’t watch Anthony Edwards training cause all his shots for 2 hours was spot up shooting or same move shooting. So would Kobe, Steph, KD, Ray Allen, Klay.
    The problem with trainers now a days is y’all try to make it more complicated then need be

    • @tjltraining
      @tjltraining  Před měsícem

      The problem with this exact comment is A: you are only watching what they did once they made the NBA. B: Largely only watching in season or pre game workouts which are very block practice C: All those players grew up playing 6 hours of pick up a day with no trainers (Aka completely variable work) which is how they developed into elite atheletes. Now you have trainers and athletes doing block shooting all day at 12 years old which is exactly the opposite of what these players you mentioned you were doing ..

      Watch Gilbert Arenas kid even during the off-season focusing on doing the same move over and over again. Same thing with a lot of these former pros kids.
      You can’t consistently simulate game like situations with a kid who isn’t a great shooter. You give them the skills first and then you can add some challenges
