- Willie, Sarah and their dogs Jack Spaniels & new puppy, Nori continue their biggest adventure yet - leaving their suburban life and moving over the sea to a remote cottage on the Isle of Skye, off the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.
In this episode, the Skye Lifers embark on the mammoth task of clearing out and organising the contents of their shed. A job which has been put off for many many months, since Willie finished building the shelves for the reclaimed fish boxes - salvaged from the beach outside our cottage.
Plus, there's more work to do on the never-ending renovations of Yolanda, our Landrover Defender and Willie brings home his biggest ever sea trout, which he hot smokes for our dinner.
And Sarah braves the town of Broadford with naughty puppy Nori in tow - will she escape with her sanity..?!

So great that you have collected all those fish boxes from the beach to use for storage. Win-win!!
One of the best things I did with a new puppy was to not only do the recall with lots of enthusiasm, but to also stand with my arms up and wide when I called. So now, when our girl is too far down the beach to hear me, when she glances back and I’m standing that way she scrambles back for lovings. Your sweet Nori is getting so big and is doing so well with his training! And now your shed is sorted, can you pop by Washington state and help with my workshop?
Haha - we will let you know our rates for organising days 😜 Yes we also throw our arms wide for recall so they feel like they are going to get a big cuddle (which they usually do!)

He didnt come to do that then. So he came on a donkey that represented PEACE not war. To make Peace from our sins that would keep us from GOD. A MUCH BETTER THING. They should have recognized this symbolism as Their Kings of old did this if they came in Peace. They rode horses IF they came in War. One day JESUS WILL RETURN AGAIN on a White Horse to make War against All Evil of the Universe!!! Only those who have made Peace thru JESUS/ Repented will be safe and go with HIM to HEAVEN.

That's great the you can take Nori in the coffee shop at such a young age. We've only just got comfortable taking our Kelpie in a cafe and she's 3 and a half! We also want to know exactly what Sarah first said to Willie when she was dragged out to the Landy to hold the spanner whilst she was washing her hair 😂😂

I am amazed at you finding all those boxes from the sea and what a brilliant idea using them to store things in your shed. Now that is a win win and saves you money having to go out and buy containers to put your stuff in. I give you six months before it gets cluttered again, it happens with our garage, or you both might surprise me and it wont get cluttered (I mean this as a joke by the way). I love smoked fish!! My grandpa worked at a fish house his whole life in Florida. He would mail us a box of oranges and grapefruits, and he always included smoked fish and smoked cheeses. Made my holidays every year 😊 I have never had it freshly made and still hot, but it is one of my favorites.

Nori is definitely taking great leaps forward as far as training is concerned..he enjoyed the beach and returned on Sarah's commands. Then he was a great wee man in the coffee shop.

With your left over smoked trout, cook some pasta, cube the trout, place in a pan with a little oil and some cherry tomatoes cut in half, lightlyvook through and toss through the hot pasta and garnish with fresh basil. A lovely easy and quick summer meal. A few capers tossed in give another dimension.
You all make cleaning a shed, cooking dinner, and fixing a car fun. (And dog walks and coffee breaks more fun than they deserve to be.)

I used to catch ocean trout in the creek on my grandfather’s farm in Skye Glen in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The pink flesh is the same. It’s like Arctic Char but bigger.
Nori is about to get bigger than his big brother Jack Spaniels. What great boys.

Next time you go to the market, pinch just a little bit off the fresh horseradish stem. Plant that! You will never regret it! Takes a couple years but is so nice to have around!

I am a diehard cold(I mean room temperature) smoked fish,as it marries the palate so beautifully,kind of like letting a cup of tea cool down a bit,it just tastes better.

Tostones.
Bear with me,as this will seem strange to your faraway northern noggins!🤣
Tostones are unripe plantains,which is a type of banana.
They are very starchy and not sweet in this state,like a potato.
You slice them about 1.5 thick,fry them until cooked throughout,then smash them to about half the thickness,then fry again until golden.
Sprinkle with salt and paprika,eat them with the smoked fish,alongside capers!
The Tostones are these oval risks of fluffy on the inside,crispy on the outside potassium bombs.
Ohh this is a nice little Caribbean treat!!!

Great trout! My favourite dish is 3tbsp greek yoghurt mixed with 2tbsp horseradish. Mix in good amount of flaked hot smoked trout and some green peas. Cook a pan of pasta, fusilli is good. Mix together and eat with glass of chilled white wine....Food of the Gods.
