I almost choked when I saw the price
I really don't understand the logic of nearly EVERYONE pitching this type of snare super high, too my ears they live and sound best in the medium/ high, "low high" range. Wish I could adopt one, still with my Starphonic Brass for now.
The crazy thing is MDS always has reasonable prices. I’d hate to see this in GC
Sounds amazing but not for that price. I'll buy a Dunnett and it will sound just as good for a LOT less money.
i mean it's a sand casted 3m brass shell. those have always been expensive.
@@LeakyJAZZ $3,000 nice? No thanks.
@@markmullen1852 i certainly wont be buying one. Starphonic walnut, aluminum, and copper are all ill ever need (not that i own any of them either)
this thing will eat any Dunnett drum
Anyone got 3Gs I can borrow?? Lol
$4200 plus tax in Canada! I owned one and sold it. I don't think it's that special. I know this model isn't the "holy grail" but given the price you'd think so. I was actually thinking about it last night, how ridiculous pricing is getting...beasically for everything in life. Yes some things we need and some things I'll splurge on but multiple thousands for a snare drum? Nope, not happening, that's ridiculous, and I'm almost appauled that Tama has the nerve to ask that. Even the new Star Reserve line are $2000 in Canada! Bonkers!
@@JanPatrickLucas That’s Insane!!!! I agree, I’m glad I bought my C&C Player Date kit when it was player priced lol!!
@@RolandDuke Right on brother!
@@JanPatrickLucas When the cost of materials and overheads double in the space of 18 months, manufacturers have to increase their prices. I think it may climb more yet, because the people doing the labour are going to need a wage increase to cope with the high cost of living.
@@metrodrumstv Jeez, I've never heard that before lol. I'm still standing firm, it's near robbery and snobbery!
The Aluminum Starphonic actually sounds ALOT better than this one
