Bro that edit of you flipping the drums around with the switch to the real snare around 2 minutes was so clean.
That's what I was about to say.. Seamless!
And the same with the cymbals!!
just noticed that LMAO
Ayoooo wtffff 🤯🔥
Proper swish!
Yo Brandon! I use to be a regular at your guitar center, you were the one who taught me how to play doubles on my kick. So awesome to see your growth. That guitar center is still my go to music store. Thanks for all your vids, you’ve truly been an inspiration in my music endeavors and since than I’ve gone to experience many awesome opportunities playing drums.
8:00 Super clean Physical Education going on here. Great video as always!
You caught it. ;)
@@BrandonScottDrums we all caught it 😂
Ran to the comments as soon as I heard it. Clean as heck.
It was tight as hell
The production of this video is INSANE!!!!! Great video as always!!!
This kit is definitely the best bang for your buck with REAL drum sounds
I subscribed because your editing / video production is top notch! I got a lot to learn off of you🙏🏼🖤
Love the little transitions!!
We've missed you! As usual great vid and great review 🏆🔥
Your Thumbnail and Effects are next level👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥💯💯✅✅
dude no joke this guy Brandon got me further on the drums than anyone else after only a couple of his instructional videos. He showed me like two things and ever since I'm a different player. Best drum teacher on youtube hands down. A lot of the other guys miss the mark in various ways.
Your drumming is good, but the way you make your Videos is outstanding, i mean .... superb. What a production, brilliant 🫡
I have seen over a dozen reviews on this kit, all of them with very good things to say. I may be buying this at some point in the future.
Yo this is the detail in review i was waiting for....you are next to none!
Damn, who did make those ads? If I was in charge of a very large marketing firm of some type I would seriously look into this. *cough* Anyways, very stoked to see a new upload from you! Always magical lol
Alesis had been stepping up on their game lately! Might be my next electric drums!
Either produce more content, or direct the next House of Dragons episode, while playing drums on the film soundtrack. Any way you slice it, you have, hands down, the slickest, most pro level video content in the Drum Industry, and I would venture to say, your video work is in the top 3% of slickness of all of the CZcams content.
Dude, the cymbal edits at 3:49 and 3:55 were freaking EPIC!!!!
Glad to see you again)
Seems like it is not easy times. I hope you'll have a balance and hapiness
He’s back!
Brandon doing things and going places… As his first ever drum student, I feel largely responsible for his success… ok not really but Bradaid is doing the damn thing… that was his preferred nickname at the time.
That physical education break will remain legendary
I miss you.
the transitions were peak dawg.
Crazy question, would you ever make a custom build for an e-kit like how you would for your normal acoustic setup?
I’ve spoken to some people about getting this kit and they keep telling me not to due to alesis kits breaking so often. Is this kit the same or have they improved on it
Best review of this drum kit
Brandon, will you make the rest of your drum videos using this set instead of your acoustic kit???
Can you add a click when you’re playing your songs from the phone?
Hey Brandon.I just found out about electric drums acoustic design. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you need to tune the bass drum ( like how you would with regular acoustic drums). I am aware of adjusting the mesh heads for feel. Would the acoustic of the room effect the sound of the bass drum. Or is the shell just for show?
Just for show. The triggered sounds are immune to any room acoustics.
What a well made video man, Sheeeeshh🔥
Ohhh that transition 2:06 🔥
😂 Love it Brandon. Epic review. Loved the wife rant haha.
Love from SA
Are we going to have more lessons on the new kit?
Those look cool AF👍
I like Brandon and his content but yea, this is more of an advertisement than a review. No negative thoughts at all on the kit? Having a hi-hat move while playing it as closed would drive me nuts. More competition is definitely a good thing, but Roland has been ahead of the competition for so long and has proven their reliability. In my case I’ve had my TD-15 for 10 years and have never had an issue with it despite literally thousands of hours. Roland is also very compatible with other brands, so adding Lemon cymbals and such is a breeze. In my case, I’m going to purchase a TD-27 and combine the best of my existing kit with the new kit to make a larger one (unless Roland announces a new kit soon).
For this kit, the module does look pretty nice. And having a large bass drum is great as well. I think it looks like a decent kit for sure and for people that go with it I don’t necessarily doubt it will be a good and fun kit. But if you are going to spend $3,000 plus, why not get the digital hi-hat and digital ride that Roland offers for a similar price point? And why not get proven reliability over a long term unknown? Just my thoughts as someone who is happy with their 10 year old kit and has been given no reason to change brands.
Perfectly timed video. Imminent new living arrangements are meaning I'm having to seriously consider an E-Kit as my main practise set, something I've been resisting for as long as I can because, like you, I've never been a fan. If this can convert you though I'm suddenly very hopeful it won't be all bad 😆 Going to be looking into this!
And, as always, such a good video!
I would recommend getting the Roland TD 27kv2 in this price range. The alesis strata prime is pretty dope looking but the Roland has better functionality with digital ride, hi hats, and snare drum. They are incredible and no other electronic drums compare.
Besides Roland I would also recommend an Efnote kit. They are acoustic design, and designed to just be played, so you don’t have to mess with settings. They are very fun to play.
I love my strata prime! The only issue I have is SD3 does not have the presets for this kit yet because it is so new.
The strata prime would be very useful as a recording/rehearsal kit. But the limited output routing options are a deal breaker (for me) in regards to live use.
Having trouble setting up high hat with this in ezdrummer 3. Any thoughts/suggestions anyone?
Finally after 7 months 😎
Awesome alwais✰you are the best drummer!!🥁🎶⚡✨🌠🌟👌🏻👍🏼
Yooo that matt garstka groove!
So, do you actually play that guitar in the background?
Wonderful review! And production! Not convinced by the sounds of the kit. The Efnote line sounds the best to me, I prefer super raw sounds. You have a new subscriber though!
The nice thing about this kit is you can make it sound dry if that's the sound one is looking for. The option to do both and then behond is a plus.
Just buy Roland Td17KV problem solved
If you enjoy over processed unrealistic sounds.
Very nice 👍
What was that snare you played at 2:19?
He made that shell out of old skateboard decks!
I don't play drums and this video has made me want this! 😂
Ill be honest... Extremely impressive kit
Where have you been?
I did a review of this kit on my channel. I talked about some issues I’ve had with mine in my video. One of those being missed hits occasionally with the kick drum. Have you had this issue at all? Great review, just subbed 👍🏼
I haven’t had missed kicks but I have had the occasional double kick. But that’s probably because I bury the beater and sometimes it bounces twice lol
ive found that if you tighten the batter head, it eliminates 99.99% of those missed hits. Also, don't forget that the heads on this thing can be adjusted to respond like acoustic batter heads and is definitely worth doing.
with the launching of Zildjian ALCHEM-E i can forgive alesis for the pricing xD
The Strata Prime e-kit has some great features. The problem is that the kit does have some flaws and issues that many reviewers have pointed out. For the price it is a little expensive. If they fix all the known issues, the kit would be worth the price. Alesis definitely is stepping up their game and coming out with more professional e-kits, but as of now, I can not recommend Alesis until they come out with a high-end e-kit that works as it should without any issues. You do mention that this is not a beginner e-kit, and the Drumeo version would be better for beginners. I disagree. In my opinion, if you want to learn to play a drum set and an e-kit is the way to go, you need one that performs like an accustic kit. The budget friendly "beginner" e-kits do not have the sensitivity, playability, sound, or functionality of an accustic kit or a high-end e-kit. This means if you learn on a lower-end budget friendly e-kit and then go to play an accustic kit or a high-end e-kit, you will find it hard as there is a relearning curve to get used to a propper drum kit. If you want to learn guitar, do you first start with a toy guitar?
Good points made but I disagree with some things you mentioned. In my experience teaching young students, a beginner is not focused on “sensitivity, sound, or stick control” they are more focused on coordination and hitting the drum at the right time and right spot. I agree things don’t exactly translate when moving to an acoustic kit, but not everyone has the luxury of playing an acoustic kit or forking out $3500 to find out if they enjoy playing the drums. I think that makes a cheaper e-kit a good option for someone wanting to get their toes wet.
@@BrandonScottDrumsagreed. Beginner students can’t wrap their mind around sensitivity there are higher priority things to them like looking flashy or playing cool beats. Later they’ll care about dynamics and that’s ok
Well, I owned a Alesis Kit like 3 or 4 years ago. It was their high end top of the line product at the time. I owned it for about 3 to 4 Months and than returned it to the seller. In those few months the ride cymbal trigger broke at least 3 times and the kick drum mesh ripped 2 times. I than bought a Roland set and it holds up with my playstyle since than. It just now starts to show some signs of use, but i think that is perfectly okay, because I play it almost daily.
What I think is funny tho, that their marketing claims never changed and they still proclaim that roland kits are too expensiv and overpriced...
Oh bluetooth audio support has been added now? - nice!
Just found this out yesterday!
Source please
Is this sponsored? It is not clearly disclosed, but the video feels like talking points that you got from Alesis. In future videos please disclose at the beginning of the video if it is sponsored or if they sent you the kit for free. It makes the review appear disingenuous. Otherwise great video!
He did not get paid to say I wanna hit you so bad 😅
There are some wicked high pitch frequencies in your desktop mic.
Noted! It’s a lav mic. I thought I noticed it during the edit but I’ll keep that in mind for future vids. 🙏🏼
BFD? In a module?!?!! Thank you, Alesis!!!
OMG dude!!!! You nailed the whole marrying a drummer than wanting expensive Bose headphones for noise cancelling and then didn’t use them…then we had kids and they heard the drums in Utero so they don’t care anymore I can just put Disney+ on for a little bit and now mommy has to go outside lol😅
the multi-velocity samples is where Alesis shines, Roland really needs to step up their game in samples, for they use volume over multi hit samples, that and larger full color with touch screens...
YOOO NEW B SCOTT DROP
8:00 animals as leaders cover coming soon??? jajajajajaj
Wow Alesis is really getting around lately
Bro!! That ending 😂😂😂😂🔥🔥
I love the fact that we all can recognize the intro fill of that AAL song 👀
Just I gone a say way in this seven month Brandon didn’t make Drumeo vlog ?
EF NOTE is the go to brand for electric drums.
Great video, but… what would my wife have to listen to? What does it sound like in the room instead of the line out?
You are running behind Brandon, Zildjian Alchem-e is now the new hype 😄
lol for double the price of the Strata.
Can we take a minute and speak about the 8 inch BSD Custom Snare drum ?????????? Bro it sounds sick
I’m a guitar player and got sucked into this!
Green screend the background for the match cut of the digital snare to real snare? The seemless slow zoom of the bg makes it look like one shot, it's crazy how perfect that turned out.
Shit looked like David Blaine.
No green screen! Just a cut! Lol
Broo you got your own sticksss???? Hellloo am i the only one seeing this?
Bro, I'm really glad that your channel has grown and you have a lot of promotional offers, it's sad that you don't have that warm atmosphere anymore.
Use this is a “practice kit”?? I think it’s a lot more than that
Roland for anything over 1K easy. but cool vid bro.
details!
ive never watched you before and the intro caught me off gaurd
The Forbidden groove 0:00
“Cream your shorts”
Your cooked💀
the intro caught me offguard bro haha
Why does the snare sound so bad in all the clips of you playing? It sounds like a snare with the bottom head that is torn. And I'm listening on dynaudio studio monitors. Maybe it's just how you dialed it in. The rest of the kit doesn't sound too bad. Low tom is a bit boomy, but not bad sounding.
They need different symbol sizes
It's sad to see a young person with a such an uninformed and ignorant opinion about electronic drums. I've never heard a classic guitar player complaining that electric guitars don't sound like Spanish wooden guitars, or classical piano players criticizing synths because they don't behave like a wooden piano. Electronic drums are their own thing in their own league. If you expect them to act or behave like acoustic drums, then the joke is on you.
Yes, I totally agree with you. Don't get into electric drums unless you understand the basic differences with acoustic drums.
11:03 Sounds wrong...but feels good 😂
Thanks for sneaking in some Animals as Leaders haha
Edrumin and Superior Drummer blows this thing away. All e-kits for that matter.
"look at these ads, WhO MaDe tHeSe aDs" baahhaha
Slick production, but not much playing. Not enough showing the module sounds. The limited sounds you did use sound very thin with almost no low end, like something is wrong with the audio?
He said electric🔋⚡️🔋⚡️🔋⚡️🔋⚡️🔋⚡️🔋⚡️🔋⚡️💡🔋💡🔋⚡️🔋💡🔋⚡️🔋⚡️⚡️🔋💡🔋⚡️⚡️⚡️💡🔋⚡️⚡️
Bro its been a year
Layering different sound patches on a piano. Now layering different sounds on the drum wow😂
Roland Ned’s to be careful
Please send my way since you hate it. I will take it
Ive got 3 kits. Been divorced 4 times. T kits r not replaceable, but t girlfriends/wives.....c ya!
Divorced once is a them issue, but 4 times? Sounds like a you problem 🤷♂️
@sashaman1234 it's just a joke Sash. 🤙
Nice intro😅
Bruv .... 7g NZD,
Damping, not dampening
Sorry, everybody gets that wrong, but you are not making the drums wet lol😅
lol I see what you mean, but If you Google drum “damping” it corrects you to “dampening”… but yeah I have no idea why we call it dampening now that you mention it. 🤔
@@BrandonScottDrums The fact that Google gets it wrong is evidence of just how common that mistake is. I see it in technical papers all the time, but in academics, the correct phrase is always damping 😅
I want this kit! I hate you 😂
that’s not how the word velocity is used bud
New Zildjian e kit joined the chat😅😅😅
