    I think this is a fantastic product. Effectively it's a full Launch (I have used Launch products for over 10 years now) scan tool. In my opinion, the Launch is the second-best scan tool out there. Autel is in general a bit better on average but very expensive. However, with the number of updates coming through now, this could change.

    Best and cheapest scan tool to diagnose a p0686 and p0687 codes in an 04 Saab 93 ARC? I have the basic Ob2 scanner. I'm thinking I may need one with bidirectional testing and/or additional features to narrow down what exactly the problem is. I'm thinking it's possible the ECU. I have a 04 Saab 93donor car with a good ECU but it needs to be flashed. So a device that'll do that as well would be great. If you can specify a particular model or type I could shop around and find the cheapest one available. I know a few places that sell them significantly cheaper than eBay and Amazon.. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Another one to consider that's worth a look is the XTool Anyscan a30. At about 130 pounds it offers most makes and models including bi-directional scanning and all the resets. The XTool range is a fair way off the Launch in terms of general support and issues however its catching up fairly fast. The big advantage of the Anyscan is the free updates for life. Certainly would be worth a review.

      @@SAM-vp9jy all depends on how much you want to pay. Anyscan is way cheaper but still far better than most of the other tools in its price range that do not allow you to do bidirectional control. I carry an Anyscan in my coat pocket as it's not too expensive if I loose it.

      i have xtool a30m and its no subscription needed makes this the winner hands down for diy on the cheap.think about if friend or family member wants help with car,just to even look at it with think diag is $39.how many would not use the tool because of this on other cars?unless you buy thinkdiag all manufacture sub every ear for $139 its a paperweight in reality for most.
      xtool doesnt have just the a30,they have the a30d and a30m that are bluetooth versions of their $600 scanners for under $200 with no subs needed and ready out the box.
      the thinkdiag may have a few more options but the no subs needed of xtool makes it the better choice imo,i have the a30m and love it.
      if you are ok with paying $139 each year for all manufacturers and will use the tool enough or will onl use the one free sub then go thinkdiag.if you think a friend or family member may want help and you know you wont spend $39 just too look at their car go xtool.thinkdiag bought by the wrong person can make it a useless paperweight.

    • @pigeonsil240sx
      @pigeonsil240sx Před 2 lety +1

      i wouldnt waste money on a30 anyscan.you can get the exact same thing in bluetooth for $70.i would get the xtool a30M that uses the same platform as xtool d7 but cuts cost down by making bluetooth version.this puts you in the $600-$800 scan tool range at under $200.infact it has more ability then most scanners in the $800 range.the only difference from the a30m and xtool d8 is d8 has some more service functions but everything else is identical

      @andrewthompsonuk1 Před 2 lety

      @@pigeonsil240sx never seen the a30m for $70. When I reinstalled my Anyscan it came up with the Xtool GUI so I think it's the dam. Whatever they call it, it's a fantastic tool to keep in your pocket that does all systems activations.

    The Launch tool that the Think Diag is based on is natively written for Android with IOS as a port. I think that's why the coding and programming did not work, I would be interested in seeing someone else try this feature...personally, I would not attempt it without access to the maker's factory tools in case it goes wrong...and obviously, a power supply with the cooling fans disconnected..

      If you use it professionally and download all makes and functions it's alot. I believe around 10 gigs. I use android so I just added a micro SD until I started using a tablet that's mostly used for my business anyways. So I have a flash drive to put anything else on
