Tools Required-
Needle nose pliers
Assortment of small drill bits up to 3/16"
5/64" drill bit
Sander, sand paper, file, grinder
Drill
Directions-
Disconnect the fitting from solution hose by removing the hose clamp with needle nose pliers
Carefully drill out the nozzle portion of the fitting to a 3/16" diameter using smaller drill bits and working your way up to a 3/16" bit
Insert 3/16" O.D. aluminum tube and cut with pliers leaving approximately 1" protruding from nozzle tip
Sand, file, or grind aluminum tube to desired length. Work in small increments and test fit with flow indicator
Place nozzle portion of fitting in a vise and notch the ends with a 5/64" drill bit and drill
Reconnect fitting to solution by replacing hose clamp with needle nose pliers

I discovered that the tip of my fitting was broken as well after a new flow indicator didn't fix the lack of spray. Wish Bissell sold the part separately since my hose is still in good shape otherwise. ☹️
My Bissell machine has exactly the same problem- no flow to the hose- but it looks like they have redesigned that tip. On my new machine, the tip is a little cone shaped structure with 3 triangular holes in the sides, instead of the prongs. But the change hasn't fixed the problem. It appears that the new tip design isn't able to push the rubber plug enough to let solution flow. At least I now know what the problem is.
