    I use a vacuum dusting brush to hand-scrub stains when necessary. I use the shampoo solution for stain removal. I just pour it directly on the stain from the bottle, undiluted. Works like a champ for most stains. Using an enzyme pre-spray before using the extractor is also a good tip. If you have a CRB machine to scrub it in before extracting, even better! Words coming from a professional. After extracting, user is supposed to go back through (generally) with an acid rinse only to remove any remaining detergent residue and reset the pH balance. This keeps the carpet from getting sticky and getting dirty again afterwards.

    Professional Carpet Cleaning Routine:
    1. Vacuum first.
    2. Pre-spray with enzyme prespray, and scrub in with CRB unit.
    3. Spot clean the remaining stains.
    4. Use extractor with cleaning detergent
    5. Use extractor again with an acid rinse solution to remove residue and reset pH.
    6. Rapidly dry by: setting fans up pointed at carpet; turning a/c down; using a dehumidifier on high speed (especially in humid environments).
    This isn’t a once size fits all solution, but for most carpet cleaning, this is the basic routine step-by-step.

    Thank you for the very good video. This comparison is exactly what we were looking for. We have been renting the Big Green from Lowes for the past several years and when we saw them for sale online. We noticed two different models. Your video showed us what the Bissell site does not. Going with the Big Green Pet!

      i got the old model with the independent power cord, in other words if your dog chews up the cord, which mine did......i was able to plug in a new extension cord to the machine as opposed to having the cord replaced. this was an important feature to me having the quick release cord option. also i it would be nice if the plastic was clear where you see it getting sucked into the recovery tank, this would make it easier to see if youre running over a patch of wet carpet or dried as best as the machine can do.

    After owning the classic Big Green for many years I tried the Pet Plus thinking it might be an upgrade. But we hated the new thumb button on the Pet Plus, it is tiring to keep it pressed down. Ended up returning it and going back to the original model.
    Also (unrelated to the Pet Plus comparison) it is unfortunate that Bissell changed to a white top for the dirty water container for all models, they used to make a clear top which made it easier to see the dirty water suction.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  Před 7 měsíci +1

      That’s interesting regarding the button vs the trigger. The clear lid was nicer (cool to see it working as you cleaned), but they changed them because they had a tendency to crack.

    Great video. Just bought the older model (all i could find in Australia) to replace our hoover spinscrub dual-tank machine - since i was utterly disgusted with how disposable it was when I took it apart to try and fix the brushes not spinning. The hoover uses air suction to spin a small impeller which is geared down to turn the scrubbing brushes. But the gearbox which does all this is a mixture of metal shafts through plastic and metal on plastic cog meshing and there is no water resistant seals, so over time water got side the gearbox, the metal rusted and swelled. Just some really horrible head scratching elements to the design. And the waste water tank was quite fiddly to take apart and clean properly. Handle also broke and I repaired that a few times. Anyway the Big Green looks to be very simple and straight forward construction wise, I think It should last us a long time. Always good to see products where in the manual it shows you how to open it up and replace parts (like the belt for the brush roller)

    After reading/watching many reviews that rated the Big Green Professional highly, I wanted to purchase one, but it's out of stock everywhere. The Pet Pro and Commercial are the only ones available right now. I wanted the Professional because some reviews said the new handle/button on the Pet Pro isn't as comfortable/ergonomic. Your review convinced me that I should have no issues with the Pet Pro, so I went ahead and bought it. Can't wait to try it out.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I’d have to use it longer to see which I like more, but I personally think the shape of the updated handle is more comfortable. For the spray, it’s a clicky button now instead of a trigger, but it hasn’t bothered me. Maybe using both for hours, one would be easier than the other, but I found them about the same, and I like the shape of the new handle more.
      I like that the spray button is in the middle as well. I’m left-handed, but the original has the trigger set up for right-hand use only. With this one you can easily operate it with either.
      It cleans the same as the rest, so I think you’ll be very impressed with the results! Hope you like it!

      Might be defective. Make sure you have the correct tank filled with water, and that the tanks are seated correctly on the machine. Oh my gosh! I'm not the only one this happened to. I ordered the 86T3 and got 32886 (Pet Plus). Weird thing about that is..if you go on Bissell website, that item number doesn't exist. They have 3288 (Pet Pro). I find it strange and don't understand how they can ship a product that isn't even listed for sale on their website. Best Buy actually has 32886 Pet Plus for sale at $508.99. I just got off the phone with Bissell Customer Service. They tried telling me that 3288 and 32886 are the same. Why are the item numbers and names (Plus vs Pro) different then? 🤔 When I told them I would have appreciated being sent what I ordered, the guy argued with me and asked why I want to return the "better product". Oh gee thanks for sending me something you dont even have for sale on your actual website 🤔 Real suspishhh and rude. Don't question me and my motives. If I ordered red..I don't want purple ya know 🤣 Unless of course everything is clear as day and the "wrong" product is a win win..which may be the case here. Idk yet. Anywho.. Usually you see the dirty water being sucked into the dirty water tank through the transparent chute at the top front. But when you can't see anything happening there, even when there's still plenty of water left in the lower tank, does that mean something's amiss - like a blockage? How do you deal with that?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  Před 4 měsíci

      Possibly a blockage, or the tanks aren’t seated correctly (the top tank creates the seal with the dirty water path). It’s pretty easy to check the nozzle and water path, to see if there’s a blockage (all in the front, and you can get to everything when you remove the tank).
      I would check the red filter screen at the top of the machine as well. That’s where the suction starts for the dirty water tank. Hope this helps!

    • @108hindu
      @108hindu Před rokem

      @@memekendall3197 They have products for urine smell. A Search on Amazon will show you some options.
      You will probably need a carpet extractor like this Bissell. Shampoo the area well. Use LOTS OF RINSE WATER.
      I literally pour a couple of quarts of rinse water out of a bucket onto the carpet, then I use the extractor to pull it up.
      You may need to shampoo and flood the area with more rinse water. You need to get the urine smell out of
      the carpet pad too. Depending on the size of the area you may use a few gallons of water.
      The subfloor may be contaminated. The rinse water should hopefully help if it is.
      Don’t let the water stand on the area. Poor the water on and then use the extractor to remove it.
      You can walk on the flooded area a little to help loosen up the dried in urine.
      Let everything dry and do a “sniff test”. You may need to repeat the cleaning process a couple of times.
      Keep at it till the rinse water looks clean or almost clean.
      Good luck.

  • @cyri2
    @cyri2 Před rokem +1

    Absolutely disappointing. This would have been a great opportunity to update all the short comings of the original Big Green and this is a big fail. Only a few cosmetic updates. For example the cleaning path could have been increased to 12-13 inches and they could have added side clean bushes. This would have made a big different as more could be cleaned and the time needed reduced. Even the ProHeat 2 Revolution Pet Pro has a wider cleaning path.

    • @ddbear8786
      @ddbear8786 Před 7 měsíci +1

      But a wider path would also spread the suction out over a larger surface area, making the effective suction weaker. There are probably multiple physics variables involved. They only have 15 amps max from the outlet.

  • @floridaboy7075
    @floridaboy7075 Před 9 měsíci

    Was hoping for something new from the Big Green. Looks the same. Not much innovation. These are nice machines, but Bissell needs a more sleek design and find a way to make it lighter. Thing is super bulky and doesn't fit in harder to reach areas. Bissell engineers disappoint here.

    • @al151
      @al151 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Actually you do need these machines to be heavy and bulky. They pushed on the carpet with the weight and allows the brush with rollers the clean it even in deep carpeted areas. If you have a lighter design you wouldn’t have enough pressure on the carpet for proper cleaning. Remember these are not just regular vacuum cleaners they are carpet cleaners. If the engineers make it smaller the other problem will be the water tank capacity. How many times do you want to fill and empty the tank during each use? They could use a lighter and durable material too but are you willing to pay two or three times the price? When you criticize a product always think why? There is always a reason behind engineering marvels!
