I would love to share my story as an American entrepreneur in Belgrade, Serbia ❀ Starting a business as a foreigner is a challenging path but one I chose over the years to br able to live this expat entrepreneur lifestyle.

This video is perfect timing and I wish I’d caught it live. I’ve been scouting a few countries for the last 9 months and using that time to “practice” doing my remote job - which I enjoy (not love) and pays well - internationally without my employer officially knowing. It’s worked really well, and I’m already planning on obtaining a 12-month visitor/tourist visa in a country and city that I love. But I already know that eventually my employer is going to “officially” find out, and I need a Plan B for when that inevitably happens. I’ve never been entrepreneurial-minded and the idea of it makes me a little nervous because I’m not creative or business-minded. And to keep it 💯, I make good money and don’t want to struggle and I doubt I could find an in-country job that pays as well. So I really appreciate the discussion about becoming a 1099-er, which I never considered but it makes PERFECT sense, and I’m going to start putting the feelers out for it NOW. I’m also going to look at that video you referenced and watch that discussion, and would love to see maybe a longer video about this topic (if you’re looking for suggestions). I think the topic can bit a little taboo bc it’s not “legal” to remote-work on a tourist visa. And you’re right that a lot of black women in this content space ARE entrepreneurs and that tends to be the focus of their work, especially those who have escaped toxic work environments to be their own bosses. But I don’t see too much content aimed at those of us who actually enjoy our jobs AND also want to leave the US for a better life. Anyhow, THANK YOU for the great video! As a side note, absolutely loving the hair. 😊

Greetings, you did an interview with a sister, that moved and became an English teacher there in Mexico and I would love to speak to her if thats possible. I am looking to do the same and would love to ask her a few questions. I want to get permanent residency for me and my two teens. Also it would be great if you could post the link to that interview in your reply, so I can watch it again. Thank you so much for what you do!
This conversation was right on time because I was just asking myself this same question today.

You answered my business question in speaking about the DAFT Friendly Visa process. I am checking further into the capital investment requirements. Thanks for the info. I am moving on to Too Broke to Move Abroad now.
