What is the number 1 thing that would put you off when buying a home? 🏠

Signs of dampness/mould via smell and sight.

Signs of water damage, disrepair on outside. Not necessarily a dirty house. My second huge home was occupied by two single moms, four kids and two huge black Newfoundland dogs that made the floors and walls quite a mess. But basically it was not bad. Took some elbow grease but was a great house for a good price.

I love that show with Sophie. I wish it were still on. Anthony does a great job with those old homes. 😊

Foundation issues, just passed on a house that was going to cost $164,2000 to fix the foundation . It seemed too much of a financial risk. No guarantee the "fix"' actually would be successful.
I purchased a clutter house with wallpaper in two rooms and a horrible yellow in bathroom and a tub that the drain was leaking and being caught by a 5 gallon bucket tied to a rafter to catch the drips. Everything I could fix myself. Looked at it first day and learned it received 3 bids. Mine was $500. under asking but was not contingent up selling a house or a work contract. So my bid was accepted.

I love this show, too. It is amazing how decluttering a house can make such a difference!

Perhaps agents should take new clients around like Sofie does, so it cuts down on their denial and loss of time and sales!

I love the kitchen ceiling in Michael and Kelly’s home. Water damaged ceilings are a terror! Missing lights, wires sticking out, random holes Ugg! plus the retaining wall outside looked bad.

So many people are allergic to cats. Cat lovers get angry at this, but it is miserable for those who are allergic. Too many people focus on”look at all the cool things our family is into” when showing, instead of clearing out their personal things. You make it clear without being mean!

In the first episode, Frank and Amy, where were their children supposed to sleep? Even in a makeover to sell the house, the family still has to live in it.

Those "kids" are grown ass adults! They need to move out and be on their own!! WTF!!

@@skate103 Not in the first episode. Frank and Amy had 2 small children. But since there were only 2 kids they could share a room until the house sells.

Denial = no sale, simple. The agents need to look more professional, like Sophie. Why would a capable guy not fix the tiny things he's capable of? Nag him! Kelly's agent priced it too high, knowingly. What is so hard about spending $15 on a flat of flowers for your window box? Dead plants are such a selling point. Potted plants and evergreens, so easy and eye appealing. Hungry agents will stage for photos, lazy ones make excuses.

Sad painting the wood over the fireplace, Sophie has a talent for sure, DESTRUCTION of beauty, classic, character. Yes exquisite talent definitely, not! But Anthony is do talented.

Why do they paint beautiful wood trim. I have spent hours stripping paint off of wood trim that was a feature in my Victorian house. There are ways to brighten a room without painting everything white.

I'm often disappointed in the after results. Often, kind of tacky & thrown-together looks, tho better, are nothing special & often look unfinished or hurried, in a cheap way to get it done quickly.

"I think quarter round looks great."
Really Sofie? Anyone that knows about construction knows is a cheap substitute.
Also I guess it's the age of when this was shot, but these kitchen faucets are tragic.
