.Box out the existing front door with the gable over it to turn the porch into an entrance hall & offer more space to choose if you want to go through into the kitchen or living room without the kitchen being the first view on walking in.

I would not be put off at all from the basement or kids stuff. None of it will stay behind. Its more important how the rooms r shaped and how much work the decorating will be. The only off-putting part for me was to open the front door and stand in the kitchen suddenly. I mean really??

Really people can't see beyond paint colours. Didn't she hear the lady runs a day care so of course the children need space, but for now lets forget about that. The reason this house is not selling is the kitchen, no one wants to walk into the kitchen from the front door also it only being 2 bed rooms not a family home just big enough for a couple as it is.
