    Hi Dennis,
thank you for this in-depth review. I startet with a wolfcraft pocket-hole-jig, which was my entry to this topic. I'm a big fan of pocket hole connections, but the small wolfcraft jig came to a limit when I was building angled and complicated structures. I just ordered the XK-4 and when I watched your video I'm 100% sure, that this little jig is going to be exactly what I need.
    Keep up the good work!

Hey Dennis! Great you came up with this right now. Will be starting a project soon where I need pocket holes and just bought it right away. Very convincing! Too bad, that you do not remember, which drill bits you normally use. Lets see how the one performs, that comes with the jig.
Thanks and keep up your excellent work!

I really like your tests of China-Tools and sometimes I find these tools from other brands (no brands/imitations) with really low quality. Just came across your test of this jig and looked for it on Lazada, as I am in Thailand. Here it costs just about 1600 THB which is about 42 to 43 USD right now what makes it even more interesting for me. From all shown pictures it looks absolutely original and of good quality. And it also includes 2 of the drill bits. Lets wait and see if it is the same and the quality is as good as in your test.

A great video Dennis, as usual, following which I asked for this pocket hole jig as a Christmas present.
I unboxed it yesterday, and found parts in the package whose purpose isn't shown anywhere in the instructions, nor in your video. There are two right angled brackets made from the same black anodised aluminium as the pocket hole jig. Each is 12mm thick, and on the outside measurement the sides are 34mm and 37.5mm, and the width 28mm. There is a hole through each bracket, perfectly machined to accept rods (below) with a screw to secure the rod in place. On one side is a stainless steel plate secured by 2 screws, one as a pivot, the other through a circular slot, enabling the plate to be swivelled and set at an angle to the bracket.
The rods are 6 beautifully machined stainless steel rods, each 6mm diameter and 200mm overall length, with an M3.5 x 8mm male thread on the end, and a corresponding female thread on the other end. They are most likely intended to be screwed together into one long rod.
I have no idea what the purpose of any of these components is, and suspect they were included in the package by mistake, but if anybody reading this has any idea what they may be, please let me know.
I have, of course, photos of them, but I can’t include photos here, unless anybody knows how I can do that?
    Thank you!

The Jig I would recommend most is the Armor Tool jig, which has an auto adjust for the bit and works really well. Armor tool also has color coded screws which makes organization easier.
I didn't like the Kreg 720 - I felt like it had parts that didn't fit together well, like the wings. I think you basically have to build a platform for it and that shouldn't be necessary. If I had more patience I might have got it working, but because it was on back order for a very long time originally. By the time it arrived I already had the Armor Tool and also the Massca jig (another solid jig) and I didn't feel it was worth it and I donated it.

Hey Dennis my friend.. I saw ur video on the site Banggood and I bought this brilliant and very beautifully made Pocket Hole Jig. It's a fantastic bit of kit. Now I still need to make a holding piece for it but I will get down to that soon. I have 12 days off for Xmas so those 12 days will give me time to build my workbench finally and I will make a nice piece from MDF for this. Unfortunately I cannot get Black MDF here atm so ordinary MDF will have to do.
    Thanks for the inspiration bro.
Now onto some other tools u gave me a heads up on. Those lovely Hold down clamps with the 19/20mm dog hole shafts are a wonderful clamp mate. They are so well made too but I also went for these very small grey squares as well pal.. They are so precise as well which for the price I couldn't believe it.
I watch ur China Tools video all the time bcos u give great advice so I wanted to drop a line wisjing u a very Merry Xmas and also I wish u every success in 2023. Love the new workshop u built a while back too btw.
Oh one kore thing. The Atomstack Laser engraver u reviewed was the one I defo tried to get but they wouldn't ship it from America and China is out of stock now for months. That's a real shame bcos everybody is buying them up like wildfire atm. I tried to get a different brand with similar characteristics but they have made me wait for over a month now with still no sign of it beig shipped. It's a shame bcos I wanted it to do something for family this Xmas. However I think I will go back again and buy the Atomstack u reviewed for my Niece and her mum next year bcos it's a brilliant piece of kit for the price.
I'm about to venture into the world of building my own CNC Router machine this next few weeks and I'm hoping it helps me take my woodworking to new heights mate. I'm no expert with the software but hearing u say it is possible to become proficient at it I am sold my bro.. TAKE CARE AND HAVE A GREAT XMASS DENNIS AND THE SAME TO ALL IN THIS COMMENT SECTION..

I bought the Enjoywood pocket hole jig a few days ago, I already own kreg mini for many years. The Enjoywood is very well constructed, but the drill bit is a total junk. It didn't manage to drill a single hole. You will have to buy the Kreg drill bit if you really want to enjoy this Jig. The toggle clamp is very basic and it is very difficult to find the correct setting for the wood thickness. If you want to improve this Jig you will need to buy a Bessey self adjusting toggle clamp + Kreg drill bit, this will set total price very close to the Kreg 720 which is far superior.

That looks very much like a variation of Trend's Pro pocket hole jig. The clamping lever is like a car handbrake. Be warned though, that if you hold it like a handbrake, as the clamp snaps shut it can crush your fingers between the handle and the bushing mount beneath it. I drilled out the rivets and made a longer handle from steel flat bar which prevents this. It's a couple of drilled holes and some filing - the rubber grip pulls off and slides onto the new handle. Worth the time to avoid an inconvenient injury.

  • @JeffDM

0:35 I don't think thin drill bushings are a problem if the material is any good. Thin or thick, if it's decently hardened steel it isn't going to wear out. Other than that quibble, your reviews and ratings are reasonable.

I have about 20 items in my wishlist that are 'under restocking', and the estimated availability kepps going back further and further. Some items I have waited for 3 months and they are still not available. Other items I have given up waiting and purchased elsewhere. Is perhaps different but not in a way one is much more convenient. So, if money is important you will be very happy with this one. The best user experience will be delivered by the Kreg 720

I will watch both reviews again and make my mind up, I do like the look of the Kreg 720 and I do already have my XK3 for awkward pocket hole situations. Just a shame the 720 has so much "plastic"...

Hi Dennis, well Banggood has made up my mind for me 😁 the price of the Enjoywood jig jumped overnight from £68 to £93 in the EU and with the standard Kreg 720 available in the UK for just £112 it's an obvious choice for me.
Just need to work out the best way to make the rather awkward platform.

    • @HookedonWood
      @HookedonWood  Před rokem +1

Hi, You are right. Kreg also does some shortcuts with their height or depth adjustments. So, I tested this, and you are right that there is some difference. But it did not make it into my videos because, in the end, it does not matter. When it is a bit off center, it does not influence the strength of the connection, nor do you see it. So, just guess in between. When you make two holes, one at 38 and one at 44, you will see that it is only a small difference where the screw leaves the wood. More important is the depth of the drill bit. I would do this the way I showed in the video.
      Thanks for your comment.

You are right - if it doubles the price - it may not be marketable - and I realize am being picky here. My thought is that sometimes, while you are developing a product, these little extras, with minimal thought, can be added at little to no cost; but at other times - as you said - can double the price. I wonder in this case? Just my opinion...Good review - thank you.

I was skeptical as well, but then I ordered some products which were linked here.
Everything came as ordered. I don‘t know what will happen if you want to send something back or if something is broken, because so far I had no issues and no contact with customer support. *knocks on wood*
I payed with Apple Pay which worked well.
BUT I made one big mistake: I signed up with my normal email. I should have signed up with my „spam-mail“. They send you a lot of junk mails and you can‘t unsubscribe. This is the only shady thing. There is a „unsubscribe“-link in every mail, because this is a law, but the link is always broken.
Every time I clicked it, it opened my banggood app and showed me a blank page…
So in my experience if you follow the links from here and sign up with a non important mail it works just fine.

I have at least 9 items from banggood that I can remember right now. Only one came damaged (angle ruler the ones like incra with holes on every mm) very bad/light packaging, insuficient for a delicate item. T ruler 400mm (again incra style with mm hole spacing) from the same order wasn't damaged, it was delivered a couple of days after the damaged one in perfect condition.
And once I had to wait month a half for delivery but I knew that would be the case as they did say item was out of stock (45° precision machine square), they did let me order anyway which is great. That purchase contained 4 items incl that 45° square and 3 got delivered within 3 weeks one by one and there was an email update after every delivery updating me on missing item to come into stock.
So 5 stars for banggood from me, will buy again, there are several items I am eyeballing right now incl this pocket jig.
