This is a detailed how-to of how to install the rear view and side view cameras and connect them to see the video on HUDWAY Drive's heads-up display.

How does the left and right cameras turn on automatically with the indicator stick? if they're not plugged into the main cars electrical wiring?. Does this info come for the OBD2 port cable? Does the OBD2 cable on your website which is currently sold out, work with this kit and the Hudway Drive?. It says Hudway Cast OBD2 cable. If the cameras switch on with the OBD2 cable when selecting indicator left or right. When will you be getting some more in stock?. Also will the rear camera come with a bracket to angle the camera for us pickup drivers? Will it come with a bracket just for the rear one?. Thanks

I have a question concerning the camera system: do I need all the cameras to be plugged in or can I choose to take the rear camera only? Is this fitting for a Volvo S60 from 2008?

We don't sell cameras separately, only as a whole set, but you can use only one camera. Please note that you still need to connect it to a video selector and use a joystick to activate it. The shipping cost to Germany will be around $25. We usually use either DHL or FedEx and ship from Latvian warehouse. Thank you!

Does the bottom of the screen always get cut off by the housing of the projector? Can the angle be adjusted so this isn't a problem?

Супер изобретение) один вопрос только возник при демонстрации сразу трёх камер.. можно ли будет оставить на проекции только боковые камеры (без задней камеры или хотя бы её ниже сделать)?
Спасибо за комментарий и вопрос. Да, в комплекте идет видео селектор - и там можно все настаривать как камеры комбинировать. По умолчанию боковые каиеры включаются при сигнале поворота (включается именна та камера куда поворотник). Задняя камера - когда выбрана задняя передача. При задней передаче можно выводить на один эран вообще все три камеры.

I dont know if you installed it yet or not, I wired mine to the accessories circuit. I have an older car so my lights are not always on. By connecting, main power from the same wire as the cigarette lighter. The rest of the cables were labeled I had a question about one so they emailed me something with more detail.

You can get a version of the "video selector" separately that does support recording the inputs.

Hi! If you mean HUDWAY Drive device itself, yes, it works with a NV camera (we used to have them for sale too). It features power port Micro USB B and AUX for connecting cameras (namely, video selector). AUX to RCA cable goes in the box by default. You can connect NV cam either with this cable or to a video selector. Thanks 😊

how good are these cameras in the nighttime
Hi! Quite good provided that you're driving on the toll road with enough lights around. If it's a countryside with no light except the Moon, it won't be seen much. Also a behind driving car's lights can blind the camera. Thanks!
Is this an actual product or a mock up? The readout on the HUD at the end looks very suspect.

This camera set has one video input, the cameras are connected. You switch between them using video selector.

Side camera angles are not very good. third of the image is the car itself :(
Otherwise it looks like a good idea. Yes, there are ton of wires, but whoever saw how many wires are in a cars is not surprised.

You could probably use clear JB weld to attach it, thats what Ill be doing with mine. Though I dont think I will be getting them till later this year.
А камеры обязательно назад должны смотреть? Мне бы лучше чтобы они вперёд смотрели, зачем мне назад, мне зеркал хватит, а вот когда узкий проезд они бы очень пригодились!

I worked on cars a dealer’s for decades a never heard happy upbeat music while sweat is looting down my head. Also, to make any tape work, even 3M tape, you must use isopropyl or rubbing alcohol on the paint. It is common practice and won’t hurt paint. If it does, it was lacquer from the dollar store. Return it! Even ribbon wire won’t take a door 33 thousand times smashing it. Take the wire boot and make a small cut and feed the wire up though the convoluted boot, go inside a pull it thru. I have seen more failures with this practice than anywhere. It’s like running welding cable under the hood, thru the door and watch it smoke as they put the fuse (If Any) at the back. What happens at the car wash, pressure washer or winter? Camera down. Use chewing gum! McGuyver does. Sorry, can watch this. Hope it last a week. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired

Why on earth would you do in information/tutorial video of how to fit this kit and edit the video in such a way to cut out the audio track of what the guy is explaining/saying, and instead have a generic music track playing instead... which after 15 minutes was driving me nuts (no pun intended)? Otherwise a good and informative video... but could have been so much better. Gotta also say, shame the rear camera wasn’t white to match the paintwork of the car like the side cameras were.

If we had left the video with the voice, it wouldn't have been shorter, moreover written instructions are better in terms of considering and getting things clearer. Unfortunately, back-up cameras are available only in black color. On the other hand, they aren't visible so much aside cameras.

Heads up display is bulky and obtrusive on the dash. Police could say it obstructs driver's view.
Hi Rob! Sometimes it truly is. Some of our customers after having experience driving with HUDWAY Drive say that it bothers them, but the procentage is very low. Actually, the device is quite small and it won't obstruct the view in front of you. We've been testing it a lot while we were developing the product, and moreover, HUDWAY Cast (the previous device). Staying in touch with our customers, we've never come across such complaints and comments. So now worries 😊
Why would you record the video with the guy talking and explaining the "how-to of how to install" the product and then just replace it with looping music that doesn't explain anything?

Bad wiring approach and no measurements. Wires should be tucked inside rubber grommets and not hanging around like that.
