D E at least Maher was willing to silence Milo. This went sideways because he didn't want to attack her, and I don't blame him because it would have made him look like an asshole and then the whole episode would have gone even more downhill. She was just defending her cognitive and emotional dissonance as if she's chatting over tea and forgetting she's got HBO cameras in her face and every second of screen time costs a LOT of money. She was more concerned with hanging onto her personal worldview than following the line of topical conversation and letting other people speak. Basically she seems to have issues (related to being religious, specifically) and although it hurt to watch and wasted everyone's time (Im sure hes pissed), he did the right thing by being gentle IMO.
She did have a really hard time articulating her point.
Some truths are just too ugly to accept. Being told you're insane and un-educated because you agree with the president is an example of this for tens of millions of Americans. To reach those people, we do need something other than ridicule. Seth Meyer's question is a perceptive one, though: "What else are we supposed to say?"
Being repectful is not the job of comedians. Their job is always to ridicule the ridiculous. Trump is just so full of it that they're having a field day.
And the news media too is largely just reporting what is going on. The ugly truth that comes from that messenger is not their fault either. It is the guy the right voted into office.

Everyone should be angry that almost all of the Republicans are enabling the cover-up about Russia's interference and hacking. That should not be a partisan issue. It borders on treason if it's true. Everyone should be angry that our president might be getting orders from a foreign government. If it really isn't true, fine, investigate it and find evidence that proves it's false. Seth and Bill are idols of mine after seeing them on shows like this. It's that "thank fuck it's not just me thinking it" observational stuff I really admire about them. I mean, maybe not so much the US politics stuff since I'm not so clued up on that, but most definitely the atheism and Family Guy. I don't even care how it's viewed, it's a brilliant piece of satire in my opinion and one of my favourite comedies of all time. The only other shows that spoke to me in the same way were Peep Show and Red Dwarf. The Inbetweeners should get an honourable mention for representing me as a 16 year old though :p

I think we need a panel show like this in the UK. We used to have Mock The Week. I suppose The Last Leg isn't bad. This show feels a bit more fair though. I mean, the last leg is like 100% lefty. This show at.least gives the right a chance. i'm not so left that I don't appreciate hearing that.

Honesty, succinct arguments, no pc bullshit, humour. We used to be good at that too.
I might get hate for saying it but 10 years ago, I didn't get the land of the free stuff at all- the UK seemed more fearless and free, but right now, I think the tides have turned. The UK is overly PC and the US has great shows like this that say it as it is. It's really refreshing, and not because it's bashing the US, but because it's applicable to the UK as well.
1) This show is a rare breed in America, 2) this show says a lot of risky non-PC shit ....but in that same breath, it doesn't always successfully highlight & dissect issues affecting minorities. Which sucks because, as stated, there are few other shows that cover this political ground.
ukboy Really? I generally envy the UK for its intolerance of bullshit politicians, mostly on actual news channels (yes, still to some extent, the BBC too). American politicians are exceptionally good at dodging questions or "we've run out of time!" before anything meaningful is scraped out of them. In the UK, due to its small size, I've seen plenty of bastards get assaulted in the streets because of what they said (or didn't say)- Theresa May comes to mind?

As long as both Republicans AND Democrats can benefit from the existence of the Electoral College, it won't go ANYWHERE! The only 3rd party candidate that ever received any Electoral Votes was a former Democrat named Theodore Roosevelt! Even though Ross Perot received nearly 20% of the Popular Vote, he received Z-E-R-O Electoral Votes! You'd need an overwhelming majority in the Senate, the House of Representatives AND every state governor to vote AGAINST the Electoral College to eliminate it! Thank you, James Madison AND Alexander Hamilton!
