Bass Shakers. The must have accessories you never knew you needed, until you've tried them 😁
Note: The Windows Firewall ports configuration at 6:20 might not be necessary. I did not need to do it, but some users do.
Ham coming in clutch! I was just about to start some research and some trial and error to figure this out. Thanks for this!
Nice Kwaski! It looks like Sim Hub sneaked in support for GT7 since December and I didn't even know. It's great to have the bass shakes back on again in GT7, just in time for PSVR2 💪
I have the buttkicker, sim rig set up, fanatec gear and psvr2 incoming. I'm ready to be blown away.
Nice 👍 Lincoln and I are going to be hosting custom server races if you are interested in joining in raving in VR. Check out our Discord.
Were/are you blown away?
Actually yes!@@stuff7442 I don't play it on regular monitor anymore
How is it?
@@MikeHoncho3 seems like he was blown away
Good video thanks, just to note network switch works fine through the route. I have two switches between my ps5 and pc I tested on. Also a breeze to install , just installed sim hub and it worked instantly.
Glad it's all working. Regarding switches, I meant you will also need a router with DHCP to ensure both the PlayStation and PC are on the same subnet and IP range. I don't think just a switch alone (without a router) will work unless you turn your PC into DHCP server too. I could be wrong though.
Oommmggg . I’ve been waiting for this since GT7 came out . Thank I sssooooo mmmuccchh, If u don’t mind I would like to share this video with a few people .
Glad it helps. Yes please share away, it helps the channel.
This works very well.
I need to get simhub up and running, looks pretty cool. Right now I have 2x 50 watt Aurora bass shakers under seat on rig mounted to crossbar and it shakes the whole rig with a ton of power.. RCA audio from receiver split before it goes it subwoofer, connected to a separate 100 watt amp that has it's own gain and crossover points that runs the shakers. Works with anything I run on PC or any console but can't do anything with telemetry, just uses bass from audio channel. But with everything on same network, it'll be worth using method you describe in video. Plus using an ipad as separate dashboard will be really cool. ✌
I also have PSVR2 coming soon.. Should be trip! Only VR I have used is Fatshark FPV goggles and other FPV goggles. Can't wait to try out GT7 with VR.
Nice should be a sweet setup 👍
Such a shame we can’t up just plug a usb amp into the ps5 and then bass shakers into the amp and job done, it seems like a lot of work having to use a pc as well as
Are USB amps a thing? USB ports don’t output nearly enough power to supply base shakers.
@@ViaticalTree yes
You can do that but you won't get real telemetry out just the deep bass rumble. I have a Buttkicker Gamer 2 and it can run off the games bass on consoles. This would be a way more useful setup though.
hello do you think it also works for formula 1 22 for ps5 thanks for the video 👍
Thanks for posting this video. Really easy to set up. Any chance we can get crew chief working??
Not possible as far as I'm aware. There's only basic telemetry data available in GT7 currently.
Hi there! Nice vídeo! I follow your tutorial, but in the simhub, when I select the gran turismo, he ask me the directory of the game in the PC... How do you play? (I'm doing something dumb, right? 😅) Cheers from Portugal!
Ist there a possibility to use Lights for example for SC or something else with simhub an PS5?
How can you get this to work for ACC on PS5 with the bass shakers?
I have ordered a buttkicker so looking to set this up. As I've only one shaker is it best to set as left/right or front/rear
Hey Ham VR - Watched your live stream this AM (US Time) where you were showing your new clean SimHub dash. Thanks for the info, and excited to watch the video when you release it into the wild! Curious, have you found any other working telemetry data to help create overlays where we can show split times/deltas between racers? (I do competitive league racing in VR as well). Is there telemetry data to be able to show the minimap? I know we're limited compared to other PC titles given GT7s APIs (lackthereof).
Hey, as far as I can see the only telemetry data that is available is the information I've put on my custom dash. Things like grid position, deltas, and opponent deltas are all blank (disappointingly), so I assume the raw data from GT7 is also missing this info otherwise it would have wired up, like the other PC games ins Sim Hub. We will just have to wait and see if future updates of GT7 and Sim Hub add this.
@@HamVR thanks Ham! Keep up the good work!
Absolutely stellar guide, I’m a complete newbie to pc and the other guides were full of pc tech talk
Which was double Dutch to me. TY like&sub deployed.
so i have my bass shakers setup. when i test them in simhub they vibrate. when i pull up a dashboard i can see the gt7 info being received by simhub. why am i not getting any vibration on the bass shakers during the game?
So connecting to a buttkicker gamer plus, would you use the usb c connections or analog outs of the pc for GT Haptics??
hi there, do i need a router? right now i have ethernet connection directly from ps4 to pc and connected through wifi on pc and have connection on os4 but nothinfg commingout of the bass shakers. ive connected the ports as well but no luck
Since "Road rumble" is not a supported effect, is there no way to feel the rumble strips or curbing? If that's true then I think a Buttkicker connected to the games audio out might still be the best way to play. It feels weird to not feel anything when I'm on the curbing.
How do you stream your telemetry/dashboard to CZcams or twitch?
I have just installed this setup and all due to this video. World like to know, on the amplifier. What level volume do you run? Have you found a sweet spot?
I run mine at half way and the Sim Hub gain 100% and thats plenty of vibrations.. You might want to avoid running the amp over 80% for long periods as it can overheat and then cut out.
@@HamVR sweet. Thanks. Can you share me you simhub settings please if you have them readily available somewhere.
Can road rumble be added using Simhub... even if canned ?
Thnx
Hi guy. So the nob sound amp uses an ear phone jack plug in to the laptop ear phone jack ?
Thanks for this video!
Are you using USB to RCA to connect the PC to your amp? I have the Nobsound M4 amp and can't get Windows to recognize it. Any suggestions?
It should just detect as a USB 2.0 Sound Device in Windows when the Nobsound amp is powered on and plugged into the USB port of your PC. Maybe try another USB socket.
@@HamVR Will do!
Great video. Just what console users need. Does the spec of the pc laptop matter?
From Sim Hub Wiki, it requires at least Windows 7 with SP1 or higher and .Net framework 4.6.2 (which the installer probably installs if your don't have it). No mention of hardware spec.

@@HamVR thanks. I have a basic windows 10 laptop. You think that will do the job?
Hello, recently GT7 cannot conenct to simhub , so canot use my shackers plz if any one knows how to solve it!
Hey Ham vr, a great clear video, however i am struggling to get any telemetry through to my butt kicker.. simhub can recognise gt7 is 'connected' and 'running' or 'paused' etc but when i try to 'start game' it says unable to launch.
It does recognise the butt kicker, i can trigger it in test mode...
Any ideas??
Thanks
That's odd. I've not seen it partially work before. You could always try the Sim Hub Discord for further help.
Someone Please Help! Has anyone else had an issue with getting your computer to recognize the Dayton BSA-200??? I have it connected w/ a usb and have tried everything under the sun. Cant get my pc to download the amp
Hi there, thanks for the very good video and explanation. I ordered a nobsound connected to bass shaker, Setup simhub. Everything fine so far. Simhub is receiving all the gt7 data. Dashboards work well. When I go to sound output it shows my laptop sound card. When I connect the the nobsound amp to the pc, either headphone jack or usb the test button works fine and the shaker does what he is supposed to do. But no rumble at all during the game. I connected also my Astro amp via usb to the laptop same thing. Test works but nothing else. I run only one shaker and put it on mono. Any idea, hard to find something in the internet. Thanks in advance
In effects Profile I can see the all the driving lines working while driving. But no rumble
That's strange, is your amp powering correctly and does it work with other audio sources?
Yes, CZcams works for example.
Good video. One question I can't find an answer to is, do I need an amp with a built-in soundcard for full Simhub telemetry? Or can I get full telemetry using the RCA cables connect to say a UBB port in my laptop?
Can someone please help me with this as I have no idea.
No you don't need to amp with integrated sound card but it makes things simple if you have. You can use the audio out on your laptop if you are not using that sound device for anything else.
@@HamVR thanks so much for your reply. How would I connect it to my laptop to have full Simhub telemetry on GT7 and not only the audio. What cable do I need to connect it to the amp? I only have USB and a headphones jack on my laptop
(I haven't got a tower PC)
I assume this is for GT7, so your USB headphones should plug directly into your PlayStation, if your headphones are PS compatible. For your laptop, probably just a male 3.5mm to male RCA cable to connect your laptop direct to your amp. As mentioned before, you won't be able to use your laptop headphone output for anything else unless you get another (USB) sound card for your laptop or amp with a built in sound card.
Note the 'telemetry' part of your question is dealt with using your network and is not related to the audio connections. Thr Sim Hub software converts the telemetry data to audio.
@@HamVR OMG thank you so much! You've helped me loads with this answer. Now I know what I need, life saver 👍🏻👍🏻🙌🏻
Does the PC need to be high spec to do this properly? I’m a Mac user and was planning to get a super cheap windows laptop to update the firmware on my Fanatec gear. Will that work for this?
No answer? Still wondering.
@@ViaticalTree
No. A laptop will do.
It just sends digital info to the amps that drive your shakers.
How do you get simhub to recognize the bass shakers? How do you add those as a device or whatever in simhub?
If windows has detected your amp correctly it will automatically appear in 'ShakeIt Bass Shakers -> Sound Ouput' tab.
Is there a way to make it work directly via bass/sub channel of PS5 5.1 sound output? Any 5.1/7.1 usb soundcards compatible with PS5 ?
Last year before the GT7 telemetry data was made available, I tried the audio driven approach and it wasn't very good at all. Just a general rumble of the car engine at low revs which didnt add anything to the experience. Telemetry data is what makes the bass shakers worthwhile.
@@HamVR Thanks for sharing the experience! I want to use it for other racing games than GT7 and other content on PS5: usual games and movies.
So did you use the sub out when you tried this approach? How did you extract it? Via hdmi extractor or AV receiver?
I just use my gamer 2 Buttkicker on my ps5 for ACC and it works great but on gt7 it sucks. Also turn the Buttkicker sideways so bumps on left can be felt on left and same thing happens on right side. Also can feel gear shifting and engine start up.
the nobsound amp does not "filter" bass only. As far as I know anyway.
Sim Hub sends the bass frequency audio only to the amp so it is doing the sound generation off the telemetry data. It's not filtering the game audio.
Hi. I need your help. I have connected ps5 with ethernet cable to my laptop so i can play with simhub and buttkicker gamer 2. The thing is that the ps5 is connected now to the house internet with wi-fi. To make it work i have to change my network settings on ps5 from the wifi to the ethernet cable that goes to laptop. When i do that it disconects from the main network cause in ps5 setting i can only choose one. How can i solve this? Thanks
All 3 devices (PS5, Laptop, Wifi Router) need to be on the same network. Best option getting an ethernet switch for connecting the PS5 and laptop, then running the switch to your home WiFi router via another ehternet cable. You can get wireless access points that are like switches but also bridge wirelessly to your wifi home network. Or if you want the least hassle, but the most latency , connect both the laptop and the PS5 to your home wifi.
So I need a computer to use the buttkicker with my ps5, GT7, and my g29 wheel? Getting a rig but don’t have it yet
For telemetry based haptics, yes you need a PC. Butt kicker might support audio based haptics but it wouldn't be ass good telemetry based.
Alright mate, in gt7 the sound is coming through the bass shakers and not my headphones, any ideas?
Have you got your amp connected to your PlayStation instead of your PC?
@Ham VR yea I have a usb switch so I can play my wheel on both ps5 and pc without changing the usb cable from one to the other. Should I connect the usb from the nobsound amp directly to the pc?
For the life of me I can't make this work 😢 I've been trying 10 hours already and no luck.
My PS5 is connected to my router and so is my laptop. I did as the video and Simhub say to forward those two ports also the IP addresses of my laptop and PS5 are not similar at all and I can't get them to be close. I have GT7 on Time Trial with the car idle and Sim Hub keeps saying 'Game Disconnected'. So frustrated I can't get it to work and I even ordered two Dayton BTS-1 bass shakers to use it with Sim Hub. Can anyone help me out please 🙏🏻
Hey, in the latest build of Sim Hub you can now click on the Game Config button (next to the start game button) and specify your consoles exact IP address rather than it use automatic discovery. See if that helps.
@@HamVR thanks but yeah I've been using that and it's not working. I've played around with so many settings now that I somehow managed to have both the PS5 and the router's IP addresses nearly identical , different only by a number, yet it still doesn't work 😖 both connected via ethernet cable and all. Seriously run out of ideas now 😕
@@JustinPoggioArtworks Hmm sounds like you might have some sort of network problems. Try (temporarily) disabling Windows Firewall and any other anti virus software, and see if then works. I can ping my PlayStation IP address from my PC, test if you can do that.
@@HamVR how do you ping your Playstation IP from your PC, where do I go to do that?
Did this just go down for you guys? 😢 it just stopped working all of a sudden
It's been fine for me dude.
Would this work w/udp?
No the GT7 telemetry data is sent from the PS5 to your PC over UDP.
How did it feel compare to PC games?
Pretty close, but not quite ACC level. Still very good.
@@HamVR thats good to hear!
Will this work with "buttkickers" as well?
Yes.
@@HamVR Would there be a reason to run an HF8 and buttkcker simultaneously! Would it work this way in GT7?
BTW Learned a lot from your videos, keep up the good work, thanks for the reply!!
damn, audio in the video is messed up, some high pitch noise
That's a piano. It's ambient background music 🤣
If you aren’t seeing “connected” try accelerating in game.
Does it work on WIFI?
Yes but latency will be higher.
That amp is not strong enough to get even 40% of the power out of these shakers, you will need at least 70w per shaker if you are using a small class d amp
(posting from experience, I have that amp and powering 2 30w bass pucks and 2x 100W nobsound amps powering those same BST-1 shakers and I run all of them at max)
What amp would you recommend? (for 2 BST-1's)
