After driving a bunch of cars I would summarize the physics as more fidelity, less stability.
Cars are affected more by track condition. Elevation changes, camber changes, different traction surfaces etc.
Built and tuned cars in some cases changed PP.
Haven’t experienced any bugs on stock cars.
Some builds and tunes that I would describe as purposely broken whereby you try and manipulate the PP system with unnatural/extreme settings to gain back PP for more power, they’ve been plagued with a bunny hop issue in many cases.
For now I’ve started braking earlier because I feel I can’t be as aggressive with trail braking.
    That’s it so far.

Perfect assessment. Cars are more alive, though this is making things difficult from a tuning perspective. My previous builds, which had exaggerated toe settings, suspension, and ballast settings, were extremely unstable. I've had to tone my tunes down a tad and adopt a more realistic approach. Overall, it's a larger tuning learning curve, but the driving experience has been significantly better after getting used to it. I’d imagine it's like going from belt drive to direct drive; we are getting so much more tactile data from our cars than before.

  • @ArumesYT

16:25 It's not even manpower. With the new physics, the game fails to calculate PP for the Abarth 595 SS '70 with engine swap. You just get a triangle with "!" in it. This means the game fails to complete the short simulation run that determines PP. That should be an indication something's wrong, and you can catch that bug in a fully automated testing cycle.
Also, try fitting larger wheels on an engine swapped Sambabus. Suddenly doesn't work anymore. You can preview them, buy them, and then when they get installed they're suddenly the default 15". That's another bug that can be spotted automatically.
How much work is it to test tuning parts when you introduce a new car? Give the new Subary a try with the low RPM turbo and be amazed at how much power you get for just 11k credits. That can't be right. It almost seems like they intentionally fcked up that turbo because the Sub needs a huge power boost when BoP is applied.

They typed some stuff into a physics modeller or something, put their hands behind their head and said “yeahhhh that should do it, send it out, let’s see if there’s any bugs or glitches and go from there but I think that’ll do it”

I've found some bugs in a couple of Porsche 911's, 92' and 95' I think, where they basically start to drive themselves depending on track conditions. TGT-2 so far has been a DAMN good base. It's strong enough for me and the transducer in the front does a pretty damn good job of producing track feel. I feel bumps, changes in surface types, the clunk of the shifts, I can catch slides quicker. Get you a load cell system. That'll help damn near more than a wheel base will. I run tlcm also. I need to re-tune it after the update. I lose traction under heavy braking and trail braking, so I need to back off the heavy feel I think.

  • @B-kn8yb
    @B-kn8yb Před měsícem +1

Perhaps both. The glitches need fixing and they need to address the force feedback effects. They’re so extreme going from comfort tires to race tires. I need three different profiles on my Logitech G Pro wheel. If I set it for race tires, any car with comfort tires feels like I don’t even have force feedback. If I set it for comfort tires then race tires feels like I can’t hardly turn the wheel. Before the update I felt they needed to narrow the gap, instead they went completely the other way! Wheel set for 11nm on comfort tires and down to 7nm for race tires.
You brake hard, wheel got light then snaps back. Not realistic the extreme feel they have it now.
Sweeping corners, the wheel pulls in the opposite direction all thru the corner. Unrealistic. Every half a second it just pulls like somebody is steering it for me.
    They’ve wrecked it.

I am using the Logitech Pro, and it feels way better with the new physics. The true force is somewhat diminished, but putting it up to 150 makes it a bit better. The overall increase in torque is great, in particular with road cars on sports tyres, which was quite underwhelming before. I think Polyphony deserves alot of credit for the amount of effort they contunue to put into GT7, its all moving in the right direction in my opinion.

I think it’s getting harder for devs to showcase their game in its full intension. Probably why some are having great experiences and others are not. I’m 50/50 at times it feels great others times I don’t feel confident with my old wheel anymore. But when I jump on iracing, Project cars 2 AC and ACC it feels great and I don’t make as many mistakes and can catch slides. I’m finding it difficult to catch slides in GT7 new update. I was much more confident and comfortable before. Hey guys cars definitely have a more unstable feel to them, snap understeer or snap oversteer is a thing now and you can't correct it easily on controller.
The AWD Mitsubishi gto 3000 original engine highly tuned, on Nurburgring, 3 or 4 corners where you can loose the car and it just spins out now. Cars were way more stable on the old physics.
I found my gto is wobbling at the front aswell I feel. I was spinning out over some bridges or lower elevation changes like Foxhole. Turn 10.
But more realistic means more dangerous and players will find it hard to adjust. They are going to need more help and updated tutorials or guides. Because I don't think you can apply the old techniques the same.
You can't slam on the brakes anymore, with braking you need to be more gentle, when approaching corners guiding the car with light braking. We need to let off the accelerator and guide the car into the corners.
The fact is most casual players don't know how to do that. Some CZcams tutorials on tuning the cars with the new physics would be welcome or many players will be turned off playing the game after 10 mins.
Now please can we have the Lotus Carlton back in the game. I really think PD need to add more 80's, 90's hot hatches aswell, European not Japanese.

I couldn't agree more with Chaz, this update has completely changed the game for me 100%. I also had to change my driving style, as I soon found out before the first lap was in while doing the new weekly's! I always start with the 5th race first and work my way backwards. All my years of playing GT prior to this update, I've always been very aggressive, waiting until the last possible nano second before hitting the binders! How quick I found that wasn't going to cut it anymore! 😉🤣
Come the third lap, I adjusted my driving style and much too my very pleasant surprise, I started posting better and better lap times, gaining 1+ sec all the way too over 3+ seconds, laps three through ten! 👍👍I also noticed right away, my VR set haptic feedback feeling much more pronounced and sharper, all fantastic improvements imo. One thing I had to do, was increase the FFB on my GT DD Pro from 80% -- 95%. I've seen else where Fanatec has a new beta V457 out, claiming it's improved some issues for Fanatec users since the new update? I'm holding off for now until, whatever it is PD does with patching these bug's.
I'm still very early into these new changes, not finished the new weekly's yet or driven all the new cars, or driven in the rain. Very excited to discover more moving forward. I never got into console gaming until the PS3 and with my first taste of GT, being GT5 all the way through to GT7. They better give us the Norwand dirt track version, because I logged countless hours grinding that run in versions past! I prefer it much more than the road track, but, that's just personal preference.
Anyways, great video.... Look forward to what else you have in store for us!!
    Cheers, 🍻

For myself, my first testing was with the 911 gr3 car and it felt amazing as do most race type cars do. My issue presented itself once I moved onto road cars and like said here trail braking seemed to feel unnatural. I'd find coming to a corner getting on the brakes down shifting through the gears but once letting off the brake, especially in 2nd gear, the revs would shoot up and spin you out. This puzzled me for a few days. Then I noticed the ABS light flashing continuously through the race. Like a malfunction. I've been using the ABS on weak. Once I turned off the ABS this issue stopped. I no long loose the front and spinout. I personally think the ABS is bugged. With the ABS off everything feels natural and has a lovely level of control. Switched on, it feels broken. The new physics are SO GOOD, I have an Omega profile sim rig and Fanatec DD+, this is what I've wanted from GT7 for years, finally I can catch sliding intuitively before it snaps as now I can feel the weight transfer of the car, I can feel the grip at EACH WHEEL. And the dirt physics are so damn good now, it's like playing Colin Mcrae Rally only more VISCEREL.The different surfaces behave far more realistically now, curbs, grass, wet, dirt. The FFB is more detailed with much more subtle queues rather than the onenote FFB of previous GT7, rewarding people with high power wheels that can turn up the FFB and feel the detail, like the flashes of steering going light when you go over undulations on the track or approach grip limits. Time to buy Fanatec DD+ guys, you will not regret it, anyone complaining on controller or G29 , time to upgrade, 8nm direct drive is the minimum to appreciate this update as you will need FFB at 100. For DD+ 15nm My FFB settings are: FFB:40-50 (GT7 set to 10!) FUL:50, NDP:50, NFR:15, NIN:10, INT:OFF, FEI: 100, FOR:100, SPR:OFF, DPR:100
Also don't forget to update Fanatec wheel driver to version 457!

On the brake, heel toeing all the way to second, slowly relax the brake, the rear end starts to step out like you're trail braking, so I ease back into the gas thinking I'm going to be able to save it...then I'm pointing 180°. But cornering requires finess. Its much more realistic now. Have you ever had bald tires on your car before? On dry, they have BETTER grip than Tread Blocks do. On rain, YOU STILL HAVE GRIP. Unless you hit standing water, then its kiss your ass goodbye. So the game is much more in tune with real life conditions now. Is it now compatible with Fanatec FullForce technology ?

I dont get why some of you guys complain about you getting slower. What we want i realism and a good time. Would you be more satisfied if your lap times would decreae by 1 secound ?

Omg is there anyway o can send this glitch im having big troubles with everyone is making it seem like i dont know what im talking about and its really ruining gt7 for me. I dont even look forward to playing anymore cause all i do is the nurburgring and it does it on 2 specific spots and it just doesnt add up. It has to be a glitch!!

Some problems I have is some cars I own that I never drove but built but won’t let me drive I have a ! On the pp instead of a number

    • @ArumesYT
      @ArumesYT Před měsícem +1

Try changing the setup. The game does a short simulation run to calculate PP. If your car is undrivable, the run fails and you get the "!".

@@ArumesYT I can only test drive it it reads hp 747 on a heavy rcf but with the rs tires it puts ! For pp and it reads when I enter a race “the car you are currently driving does not have a measurable PP and cannot be driven here “ it says that no matter what race I enter even when I know the other cars have way more power and can drive faster and handle way better this happened to a lot of the cars I haven’t driven yet since patch it just put ! On most of my cars when it didn’t have that on before

@@ryanmcmahon2610 Yeah I know. So as I said, change the setup. I have 887 cars and only ONE of them has a permanent "!": The Abarth 595SS '70 with engine swap. And I fully understand why the game can't drive it.
