- License tests have a long history in the Gran Turismo series.
Completing the final license test was always a special feeling. This is a compilation of all final license tests beginning with a lap around Grand Valley Speedway in Gran Turismo 1 in the year 1997and ending 25 years later with the Porsche 917 around Spa in Gran Turismo 7
I recorded Gran Turismo 1,2,5,6 footage my from original PS3 Slim hardware with Elgato HD60. For Gran Turismo 3+4 I used an emulator on PC and OBS Studio. For GT Sport and Gran Turismo 7 the capture function of my PS5.
Wheel I used for GT3-GT6: Logitech G25
For GT Sport and GT7 I´m using the Fanatec CSL Elite PS4 + Clubsport Pedals V3.

@@eins2001 Car and circuit details look better on GT3. And also reflections as well. GT4 is probably the best GT generally speaking, but GT3's graphics are better for me, considering it is one of the first games released for PlayStation 2
@@nicbellic9794 both 3 and 4 looked good however there is also a big difference between 4 and 5. imo opinion 5 looks pretty close to todays graphics, todays racing games are just an improvement of gran turismo 5 graphically

All of these tracks in the comments to be in 7. Tbh I'd like more events asap. I literally only log in to do the marathon to get my ticket. Even the current missions were too easy

It's a close one between GT4 and GT7. GT4 has the more difficult track, but GT7 really tests your control.
I used my wheel setup for all the license tests, and the GT7 one was the hardest thing I’ve ever done

for me it was GT4 the green hell. back then when i was a child it was hard to beat these tests on bronze^^
I played that too as a Child. But to be honest I didn't even remember doing that test. I know that I beat it but I guess on bronze.
Yes for me too. Major problem on that one was because if you step out of the track, you are disqualified. Keeping on the track after that long straight part is a hell

Imo of every test of each game:
GT1 was hard when my brother and I had to drive the Viper, being a powerful FR, but we never got gold
GT2 with the GT-ONE was challenging because of the S curves and the chicane, since you have to be fast on them and using carefully the throttle.
GT3 I can say I'm not a big fan, sure I like the GT-ONE, but I hate Monaco with a passion, I've only managed bronze once, I don't I'll get gold to do this
GT4 was hellish when I was kid, but when I played again in 2019, it became easier to me, sure its challenging, but if you know perfectly the Nurbugring, you will have no mistakes to do it on a race car
GT5 is by far the 2nd easiest, its not even a challenge to me
GT6 is ok, even if it means driving the Veyron with horrible handling, but if you know how to drive it, you can even beat the gold time by seconds
GT Sport is easily the easiest of them all, that's all
But GT7... oh oh oh, its the HARDEST one of all time, its horrible, the track has water poddles, you have to follow the perfect line, avoid spinning out, not going full throttle in sone sections, I can continue with the list, but I like it, yes, its challenging but its something new that I liked of GT7, it took me an hour to get gold on that test, overall, GT3, GT4, GT2 and GT7 are the best GT License tests they can offer, and me typing would've realised that my thumbs were gonna fall off every time I get gold on them

Wait GT SPORT easiest? I am stupid I only got Bronze but tbf my driving in GTS was not as good as GT7 all licenses from B1 to S10 were gold I might try GTS again

GT7's is something special. I've had more trouble on some other tests probably, but it was such a sick test for your foot controls and expectations in upcoming turns.
GT7 is the hardest for me, 1mm of tyre on a damp patch and you’re into shadow realm.
Exactly what I found. If you so much as graze damp patch, your immediately out of control

While it’s not a full solution, the counter steering setting makes S-10 so much easier on GT7. It helps a lot with wet tracks.

GT4 NTSC-J S-16 is much challenging, time trials on "Green Hell" with Sauber C9 😅
GT3. I played/sim’d that for days. And the music….Worth it.

I had forgotten about GT4's final test... Until now. 10 year old me tried getting gold for what felt like hours. What a time
As I understand it, you played with all assists enabled. (especially since in GT4 assist is turned off by default on each individual car and a 10 year old would never figure out how to turn it off) Because otherwise, I can’t imagine how a 10 year old could in principle reach this level. This is impossible.

It's more than likely not his lap, there's too many inconsistencies with some of the other laps between driving styles.
@@CurtisSmal do you think so? I think that as they got to later games, op got better and better. Probably because they are a good sim racer and GT1 and 2 are a bit too slidy.

Grand Valley is one of my all time favorite tracks. I have it ported to a few of my PC games. I just love racing there ever since GT1

I was happy enjoying the video. Didn’t play the first 2 GTs soo I was wondering what they where. Seeing the gt 3-4 brought up some amazing memories, then gt 5 the first time I played a game properly brought back so great memories too, then gt 6.. love gt 6 I had honestly forgot about that last test…. Till I saw that, let’s just say I had pushed that memory sooo soooo far into the deep dark crevices of my brain then this came around and gave me a hell of a lot of Vietnam flash backs… I NOW remember absolutely demolishing one of my controllers over that mission. All jokes aside great vid.
I loved Gt6 to the point where it’s my new biggest guilty pleasure, I played it a lot that I’m not used to how cars drive in GT1

GT2 and pre patch GT7 were the hardest for me.
The boaty Bugatti of GT6 was annoying but still a challenge.
The ridiculously easy Mclaren license on GT5 was my least favourite. S Licenses should be about beating a hard time not playing catch-up...
GT7 S10 got patched? I beat it by 2 seconds at release day and it took me at least 45 minutes of spinning around eau rouge and dying because the dry line fooled me

@@CarloPlaya well that’s a bruh moment. The car was really nice to drive without any assists even on controller. The demo lap really helped me tho, people should really watch those when they are doing the s license
@@CarloPlaya are you sure? I did it in thr first days and it's still the same time. Maybe they changed it very early though
@@CarloPlaya S-10 still has the same times for gold, silver and bronze since it's release date. So i dunno what any patch actually did to change that license test. I guess he's talking about the patch that broke some dirt/wet events but still that doesn't affect S-10.

GT3 was my jam, I loved the F094/s and put darn near 50k miles on it just hot lapping for fun pushing as hard as I could. It's amazing how much PD pushed the PS2 graphically in GT4.
IMO, the screen of yellow display came from gt1 until gt3 looks so legend... but when started gt4 until gt7 (present) with white-blue display looks modern & evergreen until today 🔥
Man I wish I could go back to 1997, and play GT1 for the first time again, just to have that initial awe of that game, as a whole. I was only 17/18 years old at that time, and Holy crap, everything was so much better back then, too! Getting older sucks a*s...😔

my eyes hurt from GT1 and 2 now but i loved them back in the day.
GT3, with that game they made an enormous leap! That was, imho, the game changer. Everything since then is just small yet incremental steps.

I recreated the GT Sport Final License test in GT7 using the exact same car in the exact same track. I got 1:55.352 which is basically bronze because I used autodrive since I'm a beginner in GT7 (My first experience was in GT Sport but it was short.)
I like recreating GT Sport tests and some missions into GT7 since I always think GT Sport and GT7 are the same by gameplay.
I started with GT2 then I bought the first one then the third then the forth but the second one is the one I mostly remember. The music the sounds the
UNISIA JECS GTR helped me win many races.

The fun fact come from the firsts version where the presence in the grandstands were absolute just to watch a simple player doing his lap time.
A lot of people dont know this, If you have a Dream Cast you get the Blem Disc for GT2 and it graphics are turned in GT3 graphics. I got all gold trophies and every car on my saved cards. Love GT, Great video.

Bleem made these game converting disc. I bought one for Grand Turismo 2, and it made the game graphics like GT3 graphics at the time. It was much smoother then the chopped blocks from Playstaion. PS2 came out with GT3 and the graphics were awesome. Bleem made disc the you put in DC and loaded, then you put in GT2 and the graphics were like GT3. It was awesome. I still have mine.

Took me around 45minutes to complete the test in GT 7 but it was really frustrating as i only finished 3 laps in that timespan😂

KidA from Gold Junkies days here. Great video. I golded all the licenses through GT5 then bailed out of the platform with GT6. Kinda thinking about jumping back in but hearing various opinions on GT7. Wondering what the community recommends, especially old school players like me (got GT1 the day it came out).

Gran Turismo 3 final test and GT6 final test are 2 of the hardest ones.
That gold in gt7 final test was reeally hard for me. I used traction control in 3 and understeer assist on strong. I think took me like 4 hours of gameplay to obtain.
I love how across all the games, to get a comfortable Gold time you can’t just cheese it. You need to be genuinely good and hit every point. I was surprised how good the Nordschleife lap looked for what was presumably played on a controller. It was very clean and did everything right.

Gt1 was really ahead of its time in terms of controlls and graphics
GT3 or GT4 were the best for me. The big Nurburgring and the Complex String were awesome tracks.
GT4 was my fav PS2 game, the graphics were pretty nice for its age. Sadly I lost the DVD 😔
The thing I like about old granturismo was the tracks. They had more tracks then they do now. Seeing that gt3 had Monaco makes me rage.

if i look at it, beside for our skills in the game, old GT game did "fair time" difficulty i think. Is it just me or not but in GT7, every challenge time goals was really hard, so it pushed players to their limit. But still fun.
I have a good memorys for this game , but I habe now the GT4 for PS2 , is great :D
