- In this video, I review the Asus TUF Gaming LC 2 360 ARGB AIO. I use the Intel 14900K to test the cooling capabilities of this CPU Liquid cooler.
**PLEASE READ**
I did not clarify this in the video but I changed one setting in the bios per the reviewers guide. I changed Asus Multicore Enhancement to “Disabled - Enforce All limits”. Then I tested. The Cinebench, XTU, OCCT, and gaming tests are all using this setting until the end when I use AI OC. Intels website lists the 14900K Max Turbo Power as 253 watts. This bios setting ensures we don’t exceed 253 watts which is why the temperature is at 92c. This doesn’t impact the gaming performance as we don’t come close to 253 watts in gaming. But it does skew the synthetic benchmarks. My apologies about that. When I enabled AI OC, this 253 watt limit was lifted/exceeded and then we see Cinebench peak at 100c towards the end of the video. So it depends if you want to exceed 253 watts or not.
If you want to exceed it, then this setting isn’t for you and your synthetic tests will be hotter than 92c. If you don’t want to exceed 253 watts, then this setting is perfect for you and your synthetic tests should be around 92c. The data is accurate but the context in which the data is framed is inaccurate. My apologies on that. I’ve pinned this statement as a comment on the video. I’ve published it here in this discord. For the max temps I usually run Prime95 for hours on end so I make sure I get the saturation on the coolant. Anyways, great review on this. Keep it up.😊

Thank you! I ran cinebench multiple times within a short time. So it had plenty of time to allow for heat soak. But yes prime 95 is solid as well. I wish I thought of including that. Thanks for the feedback.
That’s fantastic about the Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 warranty. That’s quite a change in policy. I’ll say this though. If you check the sources in my description, you’ll see a video for Hardware Unboxed and the 14900K review. In that video, they used the Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 I believe, and they hit 100c in the Cinebench test. But I don’t know if they used a contact frame or not.

I have a 4090, i91400ks and a 360 corsiar aio. I was hitting 98° on my two best cores regular on cinebench. I updated my asus bios and it changed some power usage settings in the update, since then it's been getting less hot mire like 91°. I've just bought a grizzly contact frame, and some good quality thermal paste, gonna try this out see what happens. Plus I'll start playing around with some undervolting too to see if I can bring it down a bit more.

I'm definitely one of those air cooler guys now given years of water before AIO's were even a thing, but I will defintely keep an eye on ASUS for the future if I do end up going with an AIO. I wonder if the external pump is serviceable or replaceable in any way especially after the warranty expires. Then again, after 6 years I would probably gladly just buy a new one.

No offense but a stupid benchmark, A 3070 isn't capable of pushing 14900k to it's limits, a 4090 would've made the 14900k push even higher FPS thus more wattage and is the more appropriate gpu to pair with this CPU, This is why your power consumption figures in gaming is different than other benchmarks, it pulls 160-190W in gaming which will make temps look worse.
The 3070 was all I had available to test with. Sorry about that. But I'm not Hardware Unboxed with an infinite supply of GPUs to pull from.

Those Cyberpunk numbers are pretty incredible... granted it's 1080p, but ultra RT. Nice AIO.
I checked and double checked the numbers and even re-ran the test just to make sure the temperature readings were accurate. But yes they are! This AIO is excellent on cooling! But I will say a contact frame is a must and good thermal paste application is so important as well.
@@ErockOnTech Yeah the lga1700 chips basically require a contact frame. The stock latch gate is pretty much useless, sometimes it's even worse, and causes no post in my experience.

I bought a 14900k going from a 3900x. I have it on 2 triple rads and 1 dual rad and it hits 100° on 2 cores during cinebench with a peak of 433 watts. If I limit the power in the BIOS to 250ish watt range it stays low to mid 70's during cinebench. I'm using a contact frame and KPX thermal paste.
That’s amazing performance for sure. As you see in my video, limited to 253 watts which is the default max rated wattage for the CPU if it’s locked, then I peak at 92c. But later in the video, using AI OC, the CPU is unlocked and I peak at 100c as expected. The sad part is most ppl don’t make it that far in the video. I appreciate your feedback on your experience. I do cool my 12900ks with air i do it because the last liquid cooler i had was far to loud would i change now a air cooler is so easy to change cost less and i do use the contact frame i prefer it seems so stable and solid with it so no i will stay with air but thats me do what you want.
Hey I appreciate the feedback and I am not surprised to hear this. This is a common viewpoint within the PC community for the reasons you listed. Thats why I made such a big deal about the noise levels of this AIO. It’s actually very quiet.
I brought this AIO a month ago. I use it with a 7900X and it runs a 89C max under Cinebench Multi Core. I thought it might be intresting for others in Team Red.

@@ErockOnTech I use an ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS motherboard, but I don't have this setting in the BIOS (at least the built-in search didn't found it). However I didn't modified any performance related setting in the BIOS, except the DOCP for memory, so it should be the default value.

I don't think this is correct. I think you need a stronger GPU who can utilize most of 14900k and also release a lot of heat into the case.

I have the tuf 240 aio and it does the same numbers on temps. I was going to get the 360 but it seems like im wasting money thinking im upgrading. My build is ryzen 7 7700x, the tuff b650, with the tuff 240 aio and get no more than 62-65 average on loads playing helldivers. Sometime spikes to no higher than 70. So i think ill stay where im at.
Make sure you check your bios settings. Is it an Asus motherboard? If so, the default is let bios optimize for multi core enhancement. But if you change it to “Enforce all limits” it will run Intel’s rated power limits. Basically, you pull less wattage and have lower temps.

how about cpu power 300W ?
This AIO isn't great for 13900k or even the 14900k... if you notice he specifically locked it to 253 watts if you go full bore the 14900k and 13900k hit above 300 watts mean this AIO is terrible since its hitting nearly 100c at 253 watts.. deepcool LT720 I have running 305 watt max and im hitting the same temps.. meaning this AIO is about 25% worse than the DeepCool LT720..

Then I tested. Within the bios, the Maximum CPU Core temp is set to AUTO with these settings. It does not give me a number for the temperature. It does not give me a description of what “AUTO” is doing to the temperature or power draw. So I assume the enforce all limits is likely limiting it to the 253 watts which is why it’s at 92c. I just found that I recorded footage of me changing this setting in the bios. I meant to include this in the video but it completely got left on the cutting room floor. My apologies about that and I appreciate your comment. I will also update the pinned comment with this information.

@@ErockOnTech Well, this is what I thought about the video until the end, I also used an i9 14900k when it was released at my place, I was the first to use it, the mistake was that I used an AIO 240, and it turned out to overheat, the CPU can reach 350watt with a gigabyte Z790 mobo setup, that's why I'm looking for it. the heat solution, and it turns out I watched your video until the end, why is the CPU only 250watt, and it's already touching 90 degrees Celsius, what if it's 350watt, what's the temperature, that's what I want to know in detail, because I'm looking for a suitable AIO to conquer this i9 gen 14
If your CPU is pulling more than Intels max stock of 250w then you are overclocking it. It gets better performance when you disable things like Asus MCE, you can even under Volt it to lower temps and keep your clocks around 5500/5800 (cooler dependant of course).

Yeah radiators get hot. They are exhausting heat. This is fairly normal. What is your bios? Check the Asus Multicore Enhancement section if you have an Asus motherboard. Make sure it’s set to Disable - Enforce all limits if you have an intel CPU. I explained more about this in my follow up video. The video is linked in the pinned comment.

Asus AIO is too damn expensive. The fact that there are others out there that perform the same if not better at half the price is everything you need to know
There are other AIOs for sure that are cheaper in cost. But half the price? I’ve seen $60-$70 AIOs and they are exactly a “pay for what you get” kind of product. There are quality AIOs that are cheaper for sure. But not all of them come with RGB fans and/or have a 6 year warranty. If that doesn’t matter to you, that’s totally fine. But all metrics must be considered when reviewing an item. I think this AIO is decent for sure. Is it perfect? No. But it’s not bad. I appreciate your feedback for sure.
Can you give the thickness of the radiator? Arctic has a 38mm. I suspect the Asus is thin with that much airflow. A rule of thumb is, the thicker the radiator, the better the cooling, period. I hope this is your honest opinion and not a paid advertisement😮.

This isn't a proper way to test this CPU cooler. Your 2 game benchmarks were done with a 3070 which isn't powerful enough to stress the CPU. Look at that CPU usage. Part of the time it was below 20% usage. How many people are going to fork over the cash for a 14900k and then pair it with a 3070? No one is doing that. A more real world situation is a 3090 or better. You'd be looking at something like a 13700k with a 3070. It seems like a decent cooler but this is not a realistic setup. The CPU costs more than the GPU...
You didn’t read the pinned comment or the description. I updated the video and re-tested it. I further explained the bios settings and used a 7900 XT for testing. And before you complain that a 7900 XT still isn’t good enough, the point of the video was NOT a CPU review. The point of the video was the cooler. The AIO. Gaming benchmarks aside, the cinebench test was sufficient to cover that. Again, it’s not a CPU review. I suggest watching my follow up video to this which CZcams decided not to promote.

@@ErockOnTech I didn't mean it's hot, exactly opposite it's very cold for room temperature. Normal room temperature is 21-22° C some people like even hotter as my wife 25 C. I care because when you bump up with 7 C more this 92-93 C will hits 100 C for sure so it's not the AIO it's the cold room
I'm not telling you to make the room 100C and die 😁 but at least 21 C/ 70 F for better realistic measurement, at least you say the exact room temperature, I'd seen a lot worse just testing but what is the room temp, humidity who knows
Well I’m in a basement with my studio. So basements are typically a little bit more on the colder side. Anyway, I have a part 2 to this video coming out later today to further explain some things. The bios settings is why it was at 92c. That’s it. It’s not because of the ambient temperature.
No idea what the humidity is.
For any prospective users, save yourself the 50 bucks and get the 14900kf, you are going to have a GPU anyway, so why bother paying the extra money for the integrated graphics
That’s true for any CPU with integrated graphics. I’ll say the integrated graphics are great for when you are troubleshooting the PC. But outside of that, yeah I don’t use it.

The gaming tests were horrible on this video.
You chose to use a GPU and game combination which are bottlenecking the cpu.
It possible to see the on tests the gpu on 100% constantly while the cpu is usually at 15-20% not even breaking sweat. So obviously the cooling performance will be good if the cpu is not working hard.
To properly run this test it is need:
The best gpu you can use.
Choose games that gpu will easily handle but are cpu intensive such as cities skylines.
It is important to monitor the cpu/gpu usage to make sure the end results reflect a transparent and honest coverage.
Well the video was mostly focused on the cooler and not a full dedicated CPU benchmark. Additionally, the 3070 is what I had available at the time of testing.. on top of that, using CyberPunk was on purpose. CP 2077 has become an expected benchmark. I
guarantee if I didn’t use it, you would see comments saying “You should have benchmarked Cyber Punk.” Here’s the cliff notes of the AIO video. If you apply the settings as listed in the pinned comment, then the total wattage pulled by the CPU is capped at 253 watts. Under 100% load with 253 watts, this AIO can keep the 14900K to 92c. If you unleash the power to be above 253 watts then just like many other coolers out there, this AIO fails to keep the 14900K below 100c. That is shown later in the video when I use AI OC. Again, this was not a full CPU benchmark video. This was a video meant to test the AIO. While there is likely no one using a 14900K with a 3070, there are people using 3070s or similar GPUs with a cooler similar to this AIO.

Also the Antec 1 FT forces the Rad mount to be hose up which i heard can cause bubbling sounds?
@@edi18912A 360 AIO is fine for a 14900K. Especially in gaming. Plus just make sure you use the bios setting called “Enforce all limits.” That will keep the 14900K at its rated spec of 253w.
